What I'm reading here implies that we need at least one pair of long pants and sweatshirts/jackets. Can we assume the rest of the cruise will be warm enough for t-shirts and shorts?

It is quite likely to be warm enough for t-shirts and shorts. Anything can happen, but I'd think one pair would be enough for a couple of days, if necessary!

Does anyone know if there is a drug store nearby the port to pick up a case of water before boarding? The ship charges $25 for a case delivered to your room. We don't want to drink pop and juice all week. :/

There isn't, near the port. It's not walking distance at all. Keep in mind you will have to carry that case of water with you until you get to your room... in a suitcase that can go through an airport sized x-ray machine. The water on ships is generally filtered, so you're usually okay with tap water. The other option are the Brita brand water bottles - filters the water for you as you fill it up!

My family and I are excitedly planning for the Jan. 23rd cruise! We have cruised before on the wonder with our oldest when she was 5 ( turning 18 next month). We will be bringing the test of our now family of 6 on this voyage, and couldn't be happier. Looking to join the FE group. .but needing to add a few more posts (hahaha) before I can PM info

I've added everyone to the roll call. For some reason, I stopped getting emails and I fell behind. I wondered why we were so quiet!

Hope everyone (who celebrates) had a lovely July 4th! We thought the weekend ended on a positive note when the US Women's team decisively won that World Cup!

You're welcome! We used them at Disney World in January and it was super-handy (plus it did seem to mask the weird taste of their water). Not only that, we can give ourselves a pat on the back for the reusable portion, too!

I saw the super cute ones on Etsy too but I almost choked when I saw the price. I'm not crafty at all and wasn't sure I would be able to make one myself so I turned to amazon. I found a 3 pocket hanging organizer for like $6 that I plan on buying. My plan is to invest in some Star Wars Duct tape to try to personalize it. We'll see how well it works out.

I will step up and take charge of the FE for our cruise. I've never done one before but I'm sure I can handle it. I do love my spreadsheets!

If you want to participate in the FE please send me a PM with your cabin number, the names of everyone in your cabin, and the ages of the kids at the time of sailing.

I am going to keep a running list of everyone that has signed up for the FE here, however I will spilt the list up to groups of 15 cabins to keep it manageable for everyone. If you want to participate in more than 1 group please let me know and I will add you to as many groups as you want. I am going to set the cut off to sign up for the FE at November 30, 2015. This will allow everyone enough time to get their gifts together before the cruise.

I assume that the soda machines I've been reading about also have water, right? It might work to bring a reusable water bottle for each person and fill them each day. Since this is my first DC, I'm not sure how inconvenient this would be.

I found a video where a woman hot glued dollar store bags together to make an FE. Very cheap and easy. I just googled "how to make a fish extender."

I saw the same one where you tie pencil pouches together with cute ribbons. The pencil pouches are at the dollar store for back to school. Get the kind that goes in binders as they already have the holes and grommets in the bottom.

That's the way I'm leaning too. We will be using Disney Transporation (don't want to have to bring a car seat). We don't have flights booked yet but I know we will be getting in late Friday. DH has limited vacation time so we will be flying out after he get off of work on friday.

We are getting in really late on Friday night, so we decided to stay at the Orlando Hyatt, since it's right in the airport. I also read that they have some agreement with Disney, so you can arrange to use the Disney transportation and just leave your bags in the room and they transport them to the port. Sounds easy! Has anyone done this?

Our flight gets in at 10:30 pm I believe so we will be staying at the Hyatt too. I'm not sure if we will do the luggage transfer or not. My biggest cause of stress while traveling is worrying if the luggage made it. We have had our bags not make a connection for flights before and it really was a non-issue but still I worry endlessly about it. I'm a nervous wreck while waiting at baggage claim in the airport, it's almost like torture, lol. So I'll probably insist on dragging our bags with us to the Disney transportation so at least I know they made it the port. That might ease the stress a little as I stalk our stateroom until all our bags are delivered.

What can I say, I'm a crazy person. lol

Ha! I was actually thinking the same thing as I was writing. I think I'm too controlling to put something as important as our luggage in someone else's hands!

I'm so glad I'm not alone. I haven't told DH that there is even the possibility of leaving the luggage at the hotel and they will transfer it. I know he will want to do that cause it will be easier with DS, but I don't know if I can let go. I still have months to decide what I tell him, lol

Were mobile anyway, so taking the luggage down with us usually isn't a big deal. I plan on heading down early trying to be the first ones on the DCL Bus. THE RACE IS ONE fellow Hyatt guests
