Cruise Meet -April 21, 2012 - 7 Night Eastern Caribbean

Hi everyone! Two questions-#1-is the Fantasy actually at sea on her way to New York now? #2- fellow DISers with little kids-what do you do about a car seat in port-like St. Thomas and St Maarten? We are trying not to bring one-was very difficult to store in cabin when we did before.

Mom4Mad- I was wondering the same thing about the car seat situation. We are going to bring the carseat for the 2-year-old and booster seat for the 6 -year-old becuase we will be traveling for the week before the cruise as well. The one thing that I am planning on doing is leaving the carseats in my in-law's cabin...they dont know this yet though . I am very worried about the amount of space we will have in our cabin with our family of five

Well, we did it. Made the final payment. Have the travel ins in place if the worst case happens and I don't have a job after 4/2. I booked the Tortola Adventure too. Now HAVE to get the passports ordered. We booked the afternoon fishing at castaway. Hoping to get on the morning but there are only 2 spots not 3 availiable. Still up in the air for St Maarten....any suggestions? DS will be 6. No Palo brunch availiable now either or dinner for any night other than boarding day.

Also- we did this with our other cruise group, so thought I'd suggest it here.....we all posted a family picture so that if we ran into each other on ship, we'd be able to place a face and a name together.....or at least TRY to!

I have been doing a little research...I think we are going to rent a car at both ports for day. It is way cheaper than any excursion and we can go at our own pace and do what we want. We are staying with family for 4 days before cruise. I think we are going to not use car seat on plane, then rent one in Florida for 4 days. The rental car companies I looked into have car seats for free or $5. Having stored the car seat in cabin before, it was not at all fun-no place to really put it-wound up just sitting on one end of couch entire time.

Cool, thanks! I've never seen a catalog like that! I'm sure the actualy Maiden Voyage stuff will be gone fast, but we sailed the Dream in September and they still had a bunch of "Inaugural Year" merchandise.....well, maybe not after MY sailing, since I purchased a bunch of it! My favorite is the Dream Inaugural Year collector's Mickey ears. I bought those and had Captain Henry sign them. When we went to have him sign the ears, he also signed my dd's autograph book! She says it's her favorite autograph!!

Disney is doing these catalogs a lot now. If you go to special events where there is merchandise being sold, they do a catalog and then give the participants the ability to indicate what they want ahead of time. Disney then uses a random selection process to decide what you can then purchase. It's when the merchandise is more limited then the attendees for the event. So, all of the first sailing people will be selecting from the catalog.

I think some may still be around, but most likely just the stuff that they will be doing thought the first year sailings. Like you saw on the Dream.

Thanks Nikicares. I'll definately book a snorkeling excursion. It sands fun. Now just need to get a waterproof camera or a waterproof case for my point and shoot.
