Fantasy February 16, 2013 - 7 Night Western Cruise Meet

:sad1: FEEL BETTER - We had a stomach virus here in the beginning of the week

Thx!

For those of you visiting WDW before the cruise, it will be 'true love' :lovestruc week at the Magic Kingdom...

I should be arriving at Boardwalk Villas at about 8pm the nite before the cruise. I was planning to just run over to Epcot to get on the new Test Track. Maybe we need to run over to MK... check out the pink castle then head over to Epcot (we are doing MK on the day we get off the ship).

MK closes at 10PM
Epcot 11PM

Decisions... Decisions...

Test Track was refurbed for several months. The track layout is the same, but the the queue, theme and lighting are all different. Has more of a Tron/Neon feel to it... more futuristic

Pink Castle came from this link that jandj524 posted:

Now, I'm wondering what other things I don't know about :confused3

I Know the following:

- Splash Mont. is being refub
- New Fantasy Land - Need to see The Beast Castle (planning on lunch at Be our Guest and Yummy cinn. Buns at Gaston's)
- Might stop in at the Walt Disney World Pro Soccer Classic at ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex (DH and DD are big soccer fans)
- Kali rapids might open back up that week (but might be too cold anyways)
- I'm in tears  that the Main Street Bakery is Closed and that the BoardWalk Bakery is going through rehabs (WHY AT THE SAME TIME WHY? WHY?)

- Heads up (but you most already know) Luna Pool will be closed. A shuttle can take you over to Stormalong Bay

But what else is going on????

Thank you Sil for arranging the FE list - that is very helpful!

We'll be in HS on 2/14 and MK on 2/15. I also need to figure out how to pack without DS knowing and asking questions.

I would say either when he is in school (if your not working then) or late late at night after he is down and out for the night. GOOD LUCK and Happy Packing!!

We were in WDW in December and were able to eat lunch at Be Our Guest and ride the 'new' Test Track. We really liked them both :goodvibes

For BOG you do have to line up outside (took about 20/25 minutes when we joined the line at 11:45). The dining rooms are beautiful! Definitely use Fast Pass for the new Ariel ride (the lines were extremely long, and we didn't think the ride is worth an hour plus wait). My kids really liked 'designing' their car for Test Track.

Happy planning!!

Be Our Guest opens for lunch quick service at 10:30, so if you really want to get inside quickly you can arrive by 10:20 and get in.

I agree the Little Mermaid attraction isn't worth a long wait. We rode it multiple times at California Adventure (it's the same ride) but it was a walk-on every time. It's a nice attraction, but I'm not waiting more than 10 minutes for it. (The DCA version doesn't have FastPass.)

Don't forget to do the following in the next week.

Go to USPS.com and do a mail hold
Notify your credit card companies the exact dates and countries you are visiting
Hold your newspapers
Notify your local police as some have a list and while on patrol they do extra checks in you area

What else am I missing??

Great ideas,
Also for those of us who need to board pets, you may want to get a health
cert from the vet showing proof of vaccines ie,rabies, kennel cough ETC...

Also any family members on prescription medications, make sure and do a pill count to make sure you have enough tabs to cover the vacation.
Last year we forgot about this and the MD wanted to see my wife before
refilling scripts, because she hadn't seen him for 6 months prior. So we had to squeeze in a DR's visit the day prior to leaving.

Yeah I just tried to refill my epi-pen and the doctor won't do it without seeing me first...ugh. luckily I thought about that ahead of time. Does anyone think they'll give me a hard time about bringing a nebulizer?

Shouldn't be an issue make sure you bring the meds in their original container with the pharmacy sticker on it

Thank you SILMARG for putting all of the FE stuff together. We are really looking forward to this cruise! Are you assigning specific days for delivery or is it up to each family? Thank you again.

Good tips, all. I'm hitting them all today since they're on my mind. And to complicate matters, I have to go on the road for work next week.

All just serves to remind me how close this is to reality!

Oh, and something to add to the list: go to the bank to get cash for tipping and such. I usually carry a stack of ones and fives when traveling.

No assignment of days. Enjoy the cruise and pass out as time permits!
