Fantasy February 16, 2013 - 7 Night Western Cruise Meet

I can't wait for Christmas so I can surprise DD too! On our Disney trips in the past, we have had so much fun planning everything together, I am really looking forward to her excitement, and to filling her in on all the fun we are going to be having! :cool1:

Are they prompt with the call? I was thinking of doing this either the morning we leave for WDW or the morning we go from WDW to the port.

Not sure first time using the call

Question about dinner attire. I have checked different forums about dinner attire for formal, semi formal and other nights with answers all over the place. You experienced Cruisers on this forum are giving me great answers on everything else so I ask what is the proper attire for the different dinner nights. I am not a suit person unless I have to. Normally my dress up is a pair of slacks, nice button shirt with a pair of bucks. Also we are doing dinner at Palo one night.

From what I observed on my last cruise, your normal dress up that you describe will be fine for any of the nights - formal, semi formal, regular dining, and Palo. It's recommended that men wear a jacket to Palo and I still feel like that's the way to go, but the state of dress I saw in Palo was much less formal than I read about.

For formal night, if you wanted to go full tuxedo you can. But you don't need to. I do plan to wear a suit to formal night, semi formal and to Palo. I don't own a tuxedo and I don't feel compelled to rent one for formal night.

Jcarwash is right. I would say that attire is "recommended" not "required" on dcl. That said, we always change into something nice for all dinners when aboard and will put on a jacket / tie on the formal nite.

On my 15 day Panama Canal cruise there were two formal nites and the DISers were a couple hundred cabins strong and most of us did do the tuxedo thing (rentals). It was a peer pressure thing. And it was very cool.

Disney was right on time at 8:00pm with the call the kids were excited but I don't think as much as I am. I posted a video over on the group Facebook page

Merry Christmas

We just got back from a last minute trip to the world and it was packed, but we had a blast. Also came back to a 8-10" snow storm and that was fun as it took 2 1/2 times longer(from airport) to get home from sunny Florida. Could have worse as some with connects got canceled.:worried:

Now the focus is on this trip!:beach:

Lucky you! I wish I was at WDW right now myself! :) We're from Michigan too, DD really wanted a white Christmas, and she got a dusting on Christmas day, then the major snowfall yesterday.

Our Christmas surprise for DD was great! The immediate phone call from Mickey was pretty fast (less than 5 minutes), and I ended up with a great video of DD opening her surprise box. My favorite quote was her reaction to getting the Birnbaum Disney Cruise book, she said, "I need to get reading, I need to know how to have an awesome time!" She is a future DISer for sure! :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Considering the cost ME, it should be more magical.

We are renting a car from MCO driving to Boardwalk Villas. Gonna do Epcot (PM EMH on friday nite). Then drive to port in AM (w stop ato check out the Dreams Unlimited Welcome Center) drop off car at agency. All for $65. Can't beat that.

Know I'm late chiming in -- but haven't vistied in a while.

We will also be picking up a car (Avis @Hilton Downtown Disney) on Friday Night we are staying at the Beach Club the week before. We will then stay at Hampton Inn & Suites Orlando Airport Friday night and leaving for the port in the morning. We drop the car of at Avis (Port Canaveral Shuttle for Cruise Ships) and they have a shuttle that brings us to the port.

Only Cost us $52.00 for Group G. We have an arrival time of 11:00 at Port.

Yes, you have 40 Seconds to initate the call by pressing "1" - WHEN YOUR CHARCTER CALLS

Thank you! We have Happy Limo picking us up at WL at 10 am for an 11:30 port arrival time. I scheduled the call for 10:45 during the drive. We were going to wait until we arrived at the port and he saw the ships, but I think this will let it sink in before we arrive :goodvibes. I'm sure when we leave to go to WDW, he'll be asking about a cruise, so I can't wait to surprise him!

Hi all,

I've been MIA for awhile. The month of December really gets crazy around here with the holidays and an impromptu trip to Disney in the beginning of the month. My daughter is a cheerleader with Pop Warner. Their team qualified for the National Competition in Disney where they took 1st place. National Champions!! It was all very exciting.

Both payments for the cruise and the cheer competition were due the same day. Imagine how much fun that was on my bank account.

But now I can finally concentrate on our cruise!!! Awhile back I thought someone was keeping an Excel spreadsheet of the FE list on Google docs. Can someone send me a link?

Also. Will there be a cut off date? It looks like we have about 30 rooms and over 100 people. Which is AWESOME!! I have some great ideas but some of the things I need I have to order. Want to make sure I order enough.

Happy New Year everyone!!!

There is a link to the Google docs FE spreadsheet in post #1 of this thread.

I propose that anyone that joins after Jan 1 is a "provisional FE member".

A provisional FE member means that family may not get FEs from everyone as some folks purchase a set number of gifts or have them personalized and had to order in advance. How ever those that have spares are free to give to a provisional member.

Do I have a second to this proposal?
