Ann :rolleyes1

WELCOME!!!!:thumbsup2

I'll add you newbies to the front roster! I'll add to the FE as well..16 cruises!! FUN!!! You'll have to share your top three! :) This will be our third and probably final for awhile...really want to take the kids to DC to see all the free stuff sometime...cruises are just so much easier on the planning! :)

More cruisers means more fun! :)

WELCOME!!! I think you're the nice family who gave me tips on skidoos or seadoos whatever they're called!! So excited that you're coming on this cruise! Do you all fly in a few days before to get adjusted to the time change? I think this will be an awesome cruise with GREAT weather!! :) And maybe we can have aquaduck meets :)

:cool1: Nine more months! :)

Wow! it's a small world! I didn't remember it but, Yes, I was the one who sent you the info on the Jetskiing tour at CC :thumbsup2 We will be riding the jetskiis at CC so we may end up riding together!!

We are hoping to fly on August 26th, we are attending to a family reunion at my cousin's lake house in Lake Cherokee, TN, then will be spending at least a week at WDW:yay: before our cruise.

We would like to join in on the FE as well as the Secret Mickey.

From beautiful Madrid, Spain, I wish you all a Happy New Year full of fun, happiness and AMAZING trips & cruises :flower3:

:cool1: Welcome to all who have recently joined! Glad this is picking up a bit, although I too have been very distracted with Christmas. We did the big reveal to my mom about the cruise. It will be her first cruise ever, first real big travel ever and first time outside of the country so she is already thinking of a million possible questions LOL.

For those worrying about seasickness, I have a few recommendations. First, the shakiest part of the trip is the part where we come through the Florida straights. You really only feel it on the way out as you are usually sleeping on the way in. If you are worried about seasickness, consider taking a meclazine or getting a patch from your doctor (if you are prone to it). If you only have light nausea ginger chews are awesome - totally natural and work well. We have sailed during some rough seas and none of us have ever gotten sick, only a bit queasy during the roughest part and the meclazine worked perfectly. My friend who is very prone to motion sickness uses the patch and never gets sick.

Hope that helps!

The medication that you talked about and the patches-do either of these make you sleepy? It just talked to two separate couples (one couple did Eastern on RCL, the other couple DCL), that just did their cruises within the past couple of months. Both couples complained of seasickness-I was sort of surprised. One couple said that they would have to go to bed early just to feel better. Hope that doesn't happen on this cruise! As for my wardrobe and the kids, we have nothing yet! Luckily DH is all taken care of. Oh and when I say wardrobe, I mean easy stuff, shorts and t shirts! Does everyone here do formal night? What do you all wear? :goodvibes

Where did you get the ginger chews? We have had some rough seas on our past 2 cruises, but thankfully none of us got sick. DH didn't feel well last cruise because of the roughness (while docked in Cozumel) but was better when he couldn't see out the window. :lmao:

I have heard that Bonine doesn't make you as sleepy as other medications. I can't answer truthfully as we have been lucky enough not to have to take anything (and we've had some rough waters as storms were coming up the East coast as we were heading back to port one year.)

We did formal night last year, DH wore a jacket and tie, I had a longer dress (not a gown), DS wore a shirt and tie and DD always likes to dress up. Not sure if we will go that route again this time or just be more semi-formal. Still lots of planning time for that!

As for wardrobe, I haven't even started to THINK about that! I'm sure my kids will need entire new wardrobes for summer anyway, so that will become the cruise-wear. After the last cruise, I made a list of what we ACTUALLY wore versus what we packed, I am really hoping to reduce the amount of clothing we bring this time. I wore my capris a couple of nights to dinner, so I definitely don't need one for each night we are there. And during the day, we usually had on bathing suits and then cover up/shorts and Ts over it, so again, no need for 2 outfits for eaach day. Now if I can just hold myself to this line of thinking when I go to pack! :thumbsup2

DD and DS still don't know about this trip....waiting until the excitement of the holidays (and their birthday which was 2 days ago) is over and maybe even longer than that before we spill the beans. :yay:

Happy New Year to our fellow cruisers. Only 252 days to go to the Cruise :goodvibes.

Hope you get all you wish for in 2012. Less than 5 hours to wait for 2012 for us!

No the meclazine does not make me sleepy at all. And my friend never mentioned any side effects from the patch at all.

We pretty much wear casual clothes most of the time. Capris and t shirts for me, shorts and t shirts for hubby. Then usually we dress a little nicer for dinner but not much (as in just change the shorts to pants :lmao:)

Pretty much any Whole Foods type of store (Trader Joe's, Central Market, etc). As long as what you have is pure ginger, it works. The tip there is you do have to take that either right before you think you might start feeling it or right as you do. Once you are sick, the taste of ginger isn't so hot. :scared1:

Monroe in about 20 miles southeast of Charlotte. Although I left Monroe when I was 8 (Air Force sent my dad to Spain) I still miss it so bad!:sad2: I still have many relatives there I visit every time I have the chance though. We might move back to the US in the near future...:rolleyes1

I look forward to sailing with you all aboard beautiful Disney Fantasy :woohoo:

Is it September yet? :)

You need to put [ at the front and ] at the back of your ticket.
It should work then.

How did you like the Dream? We have never been on the Dream...but have loved the Magic/Wonder...hope the size doesn't overwhelm us! :) I'm guessing since it's larger I will have to walk that much more and burn more calories so I can eat more! :)

Tara

I've worried about this too, Tara. :) My DD and I sailed on the Wonder last March, and I LOVED the intimate size of the ship. I am frankly worried about the sheer size of the Fantasy, and the amount of people that will be sailing. :scared1: We will definitely get our exercise, though! :rotfl:

Hi everyone! I am thrilled to be joining this group - everyone seems so nice, and we are going to have so much fun! :cool1:

Our group consists of 3 people -

Me, Amy, (will be) 42 yo (on the cruise) - I grew up in So Cal, so I spent every single break at Disneyland growing up. I have been there countless times, and I still can't get enough! :lovestruc But my real obsession with Disney started to grow the first time I went to WDW in 2002. It is just Disney on a whole 'nother level. :lovestruc I have tried for years to get my daughter to move to FL, but so far, she's not going for it. :) We just got back from WDW on Dec 5th, and I was not ready to come home! We cruised for the first time on the Wonder in March 2011, and it was fabulous, lovely, perfect, and I can't wait to go again! :thumbsup2

DD, Kaitlyn, (will be) 20 yo (on the cruise) - She is currently a sophomore at Arizona State University - she will be a junior by the time we sail! - and she is studying to become an elementary school teacher. Kaitlyn has grown up with my Disney love, and she is just as excited and thrilled to go to the parks as I am. Cruising, however, was a different story. She saw Titanic, and that was IT. :snooty: :scared: There was no WAY she was going to let me get her on a ship! I tried for about 6 years - honestly - before I finally talked her into it. And she only went, I think, just to get me to finally shut up! :rotfl: She was terrified to step on the ship...fast-forward to about 2 days later, when she was dragging me to the re-book cast member so we could plan our next cruise! :rotfl2: She LOVED it so much, now it's kind of a battle in our house how we are going to use our vacation time... cruising or WDW? :sail:

DBF, Austin, 18 yo - Austin is Kaitlyn's boyfriend of over 2 years. He will be a freshman at Arizona State University (we think) by the time we sail, studying to become a pharmacist. He is an amazing young man, and I love him like my own son. If he is going to be around us, he is going to have to love Disney! :thumbsup2 We've dragged him to DLR and WDW with us, but this will be his first cruise. Kaitlyn is beyond excited to show him how fabulous cruising is and to share the experience with him.

We've never been to the Caribbean, so we are really looking forward to this cruise! Are you all going to watch the sail out of the Fantasy on Saturday?

:rainbow:

:welcome: aboard Amy! It is so good to see how our group is growing, the more people the more fun!:woohoo:

You are gonna enjoy sailing to the Caribbean and you are gonna LOVE Castaway Cay! :dance3: It is SO beautiful :beach: and there are lots of fun things to do!

I look forward to sailing with you all :yay:

Added you to FE list! I am excited about the newness maybe that will overshadow the size! It will be a blast!
