FANTASY FANTASTIC:::September 8, 2012

I'm not sure that would be good for our family, we would spend all our food money on booking cruises!! :rotfl:

Malacajo! We are going to fix your signature!!! :) Go to User CP, Edit My Signature...then copy the section that starts with http (leave out the ,<a> stuff at the beginning and end) then hit the little mountain picture (Insert Image) put the http link in the box that pops up and oila! Your siggie picture should show up! :) If you can access the distickers it's best to get the http: link directly from there...hope this helps!! I know you'd like to see that ticker ticking down! :)

I'm so hoping they offer a special for our cruise, I am finding more excursion things I'd like to do but they cost $$! :)

IMHall oh my goodness thank you...I tried to fix it, hubby, daughter-next I thought I was going to get the dogs to try...LOL I'll get my daughter on here to try and fix it with your instructions...Been driving me insane!! On the other hand, I've seen others with the same problem so then I felt better knowing I wasn't alone......LOL Thanks!

:rotfl: tell whoever fixes it gets the first Mickey Bar from room service! :thumbsup2

I am seriously considering renting a cabana...just so my husband can have a hammock! I really want to do the jetskis as well....too many options and not enough moola!:confused3

We really would like to try the jet skis too but I'm not sure where to fit it into our day. Just so much to do on the island and not enough time!

On Castaway we plan on renting floaties, bikes, and snorkels but honestly I just want to lie on that floatie all day long and bake......!!!!! Castaway is what we are most looking forward to I think.

We love Castaway Cay and can't wait to go back. We ended up playing in the sand and water all day. My husband and father-in-law went parasailing and absolutely loved it. They said that it wasn't scary at all then my husband rented snorkel gear and just floated around the water. The best pictures are of our daughter playing in the sand from our last trip.

I'll be so disappointed if weather doesn't permit us to go to Castaway...Trying not to think negatively, but gosh I hope we don't miss it!!

Hi Everyone! I'm just popping in to say Hello! Now that we're under a year to go, I'm starting to get super excited, and will be planning the land part of our vacation starting in December.

IMHall... if you'd like to update our stats in the 1st post, DS will have just turned 4 at the time that we set sail.

Just changed his age, what a great age to explore the ship! :) I love seeing the reaction in my children when we're doing anything Disney! :)

I sure hope we do not miss CC!! It would be heartbreaking to my kids...they've spent a good deal of time mapping it out and planning their day there already!! :)

A nice day to relax will be much appreciated!! Amazed at how few cruisers we have this week compared to others....I really think it will be a great time to cruise :)

Only 10 months and 2 weeks! :)

Hi all - just got off the Wonder for the Mexican Riviera and booked onboard for this cruise! Will be me, DH and our 3 sons (8, 9, 12) as well as both my mom and hubby's mom. I have our room numbers in the confirmation somewhere (still driving back - can you tell I don't want the magic to end??) We definitely want to be in the FE and I will PM about getting the invites to the FB pages. Look forward to chatting with you all over the coming months!

Hi there -

My kids really want to be in the Edge this time, and they will be turning 11 in December while we sail in September. Anyone know if they will be able to go to Edge? If not, we may have to re-think our sail date!

We just got off the Wonder and oldest son just turned 12. The Edge was available for 11 - 13. He also had the option to go to the Lab if he wanted. However, once he got engaged in the Edge he never looked back. I was a little nervous at first about him having free reign around the ship and in and out of the Edge but with the wave phones he was able to text me and tell me when he was changing locations or ask permission to go to movies, etc. He really enjoyed the activities and they seemed to be very well paced. What I liked was it was literally opposite end of the ship from the teenagers - which he is not ready to be a part of yet.

Welcome!! We homeschool as well, we have traveled to Disneyworld during September and the weather was always perfect...first sailing in September, we've sailed March and May..both great weather.

The FE are there to have families put tokens in the pockets to help make the trip that much more memorable/fun...we usually try to bring items that are Disney related or reflective of our area (certain candies etc. you can't get elsewhere)..it's just a lot of fun and we've always done them...

Typically you bring an item for each family (if there are too many, we try to keep it down to 15 families...and split up into groups if it goes over that) and each day your kids find surprises in their pockets from the various families in your FE group. Just fun stuff..my kids loved coming back and finding gifts and especially touring the ship finding all the rooms to put our gifts in their FE pockets.

HTH!

We also homeschool :cool2: We have done FE many times and the best times are really when folks are into it and enjoy the fun of the "secret" delivery. Its so awesome to get back to the room and find goodies in your FE. This last cruise was awesome - we had 20 staterooms participate and each of the kids came home with a pirate bag full of goodies and trinkets. Also there were some really nice little things for the adults. Some examples of what we got include: small sunscreen tube, bandaids, homemade picture frames/books, bookmarks, keychains, soaps - lots of things representing the state the family was from like postcards.

Something else we have done in the past is a secret Mickey where everyone is assigned one "family" and you do fun little things throughout the cruise for that family. These things are usually more personal than the FE - the way we did it was to do a little questionnaire to find out what the family likes (ex what kind of candy bar, favorite color and character). For example - put a nice little magnet on their door, maybe sand toys on beach day, home made something, etc. Nothing huge but its kind of fun to adopt one family for the week. Anyone interested?

Welcome!:cheer2:

I think the secret Mickey would be really cool! I can put it on the front page under fish extenders/secret Mickey....some families may wish to do one or both. I am great at creating the lists, not so great on the instructive part...I will cut and paste your description of secret mickey so others will understand.

Check out the facebook links as well...that might be a place where we could print lists of rooms and such where it is only available to cruisers on our ship...I am not too protective on those things, but my husband is really wary of putting personal info on public sites.

Welcome home and excited for countdown!
Tara
It is so hard leaving the ship!

I'm hoping that my son who will be 12 at the time we cruise, will have some boys to hang with on this cruise! My then 15 yr old daughter is really looking forward to meeting IMHall's kids, so hopefully our son will find some friends too! I still need to really start looking in the FE so that we can get started and hopefully not wait until the last minute. Weather is getting colder so it's really making our cruise seem so far away...Plus I think when we get it completely paid, it'll feel more real! Cannot wait...!!!!

Thanks for posting the Secret Mickey stuff - it was a lot of fun. Maybe we can keep a separate list of those interested in Secret Mickey and then as we get a few months out we will start the questionnaires. I joined the FB - awesome idea!

Well he will definitely have my 12 yo to hang out with - maybe they can connect prior - we don't let him do any of the social media stuff yet (Facebook, etc) but we could figure out someway even if its old fashioned mail LOL!

Oh that would be great! He would love to have a new friend to hang with! He'll be 12 this coming Saturday....Oh anyway to have them "meet" beforehand is fine with us...Let me know!

Just wanted to let you all know that we have changed our dates, so won't be sailing with you. Enjoy and Bon Voyage!

Well, we are back! We moved our cruise back to these dates...looking forward to catching up on what is in the thread!

Me (Darcy)
Hubby (Tom)
Jordan (DD - will be almost 11 when we sail)
Aidan (DS - will be almost 11 when we sail)

We will also be sailing ON DH's birthday.....

Well, I am hoping that a couple months shy of 11 and a low volume of kids on board will equate to them letting my kids into the Edge. Neither of them like the Lab, so if they can't do the Edge, it will be hanging out with us again (which is not a bad thing!)

Looks like a couple of boys in the same age range...as I said both DD and DS will be just shy of 11 when we sail.

Really does look like this cruise is not that busy....the thread for the other cruise had a lot more families! I will have to go back to the beginning to find the FB link. :goodvibes

Welcome back :cool1: This thread is a little quiet but some great folks on here already. So your kids are twins then? My oldest son will actually be 13 when we go so it will be his last year in the Edge - can't believe it!

I like the idea of secret Mickey. We did FE on the Dream and it took me a while to find all of the rooms because the were scattered so far away from each other, it would be fun to focus on one family. I haven't seen much information about Fantasy as I did for the Dream when it got closer to the maiden voyage. I have subscribed to the DLC blogs so I am hoping to see more info coming out in the next couple of months.
