Fantasy fans: April 7, 2012

It's hard to think about the cruise for me because I'm gone for two weeks next Monday. Our school break is in March so we're going to NYC for a few days then. It seems to be so busy between trips and events.

Evening folks(well it is in the Uk )

We still have snow, and it is freezing, but I don't mind as the children and I are just starting a weeks break from school! So no worries about going anywhere!

Can some one tell me, have we set a close date for the FE? As I want to purchase some bits but want to make sure I don't over or under buy, so would like numbers soon. Also as I am doing FE the week before too for the MV I need to try and get organised soon

Thanks

Evening Jojo. It's dark and COLD here too. -8 C on it's way down to to - 14 C or the night. This cruise is definitely going to be a reward for enduring this weather.

The FE deadline was set for 9 March. If people think that 4 weeks before the cruise is too late, we can cut it off sooner. I know what you mean about a cruise ahead as I am sailing the Dream on 1 April. I just have begun gathering things and if I have too much I can save for a future cruise. But I am staying fairly simple and generic rather than too personalized.

Our FE group is still rather manageable. Don't know if it will grow or not.

I did a cursory search of this DCL forum and ascertained that Easter festivities on the ship consist of a morning mass on deck, decorations at the buffet tables and restaurant entrances and perhaps a visit by the rabbit of Alice in Wonderland notoriety. The last references to an egg hunt are 5-6 years ago and it was held in the main lobby atrium.

Does anyone know differently?

We sailed over Easter 2009 and I don't remember there being any more than the activities you mentioned other than the fact that there were a couple church services. We wanted to do the early one on deck but weren't able to rouse ourselves out of bed that early :) so we attended one mid morning.

Hi all, still here!

We were on the Easter cruise last year (Dream) and there were a couple little activities that were special for the kids in the club/lab but that about it. We didn't leave till Easter Sunday though so we hit up mass at Contemporary before leaving. The dinner did have a special Easter menu but I don't remember seeing the Easter Bunny.

This will be our third Easter Cruise and the room makes an excellent spot for egg hiding! There is always one or two eggs that are found much later in the sailing. Because we have only left on Easter Sunday, the Easter bunny normally makes his visit before we get to the room. As if opening your cabin door for the first time isn't exciting enough! :-)

~Thanks to those that posted pics of the magnets on the doors, this helps the understanding as well as the planning!

Hi there - just getting around to signing up for this. My DD (11) and I are sailing on the April 7th Fantasy cruise. We would love to participate in the FE and the magnet exchange. So excited to see the Fantasy!!!

We've booked the following excursions so far: Grand Cayman - Pirate Encounter (we've done this before and my daughter loves it. I love it because it's relatively inexpensive!); Cozumel - Dune Buggy; Castaway Cay - Bottom Fishing.

For the person who asked about registering for The Edge, you don't need to (at least on the Dream you don't). If your kid(s) are like my DD, they'll spend the whole time at the Edge!

Welcome welcome.

I have added you to the roll call and the FE list. If you could email me with your details such as names and cabin number I will add it to that list to be distributed in a few weeks. dclfantasyapril7@yahoo.com

Glad you found us. We are relatively quiet group lately but hopefully we can get some more conversation going.

Can someone on this cruise do me a favor?

Im trying to find the best table for 6 for us. On the Dream it was 112. That table was in a good position for us (away from server stations and doorways)

If someone would take a look at the restaurants and see if table 112 is still a table for 6, Id appreciate it. If you could text message me a photo of the table in the restaurants tat would be even better.

Let me know if you can help and Ill gove you my cellphone number if you need it.

THANKS

I will be happy to do this for you. I will be on the Dream just before as well so can give you an accurate comparison.

PM me your cell and email and I will do my best.

Good morning, well the cold snap has broken thank goodness, we had temps of -15 overnight the other night, which is really rare for us, but now we are back to more normal temperatures and rain has washed the snow away.

Welcome to newcomers to the board, it would be nice to get more activity going.

what a shame Disney don't do more for Easter, there is so much more they could be doing. Oh well.

I heard from one of our CM buddies yesterday who is part of the opening team in the kids club/lab. He says they are definitely sailing away on Thursday this week to start the grand ladies journey home. He is hoping to post some interior pictures on FB soon so I will try and link to them on the FB group if I can.

It's so exciting, only 48 days until the MV and then just another 7 to enjoy the ship without too much madness(we hope)

Have a good day everyone.

JoJo, does your friend happen to know if a counselor by the name of Ji is going to be on the Fantasy? He was one of the counselors on the Magic when we sailed in December 2010 and my DD loved him! He was really funny. It would be great to have him as a counselor again, though I know he'd never remember us!

I will message him and ask, but I may not get a reply for awhile, as they sail away tomorrow and it will be at least a week before they reach land again wherever that may be, and get a good enough Internet connection I guess. I can but try;)

We sail every Easter and are really surprised Disney doesn't do mor. We have always been on Princess and have always had a 3-4 hr Fun Fare for the kids in the main atrium, Easter Bunny visit and gifts for each child, free raffles for giant chocolate eggs that decorate different areas of the ship. Along with church services, special dinner and decorations everywhere. Maybe this will change a bit on a new ship.

TEENAGERS!

my sister and i (shes 15 and im 18) will be cruising on this date.
our other friends from past cruises will also be on here.

lets hang out/meet up/ its really not as sketchy as it seems. i did this before and ended up being great friends with the kids. either way ill see you onboard =]

almost thereee! && cannot wait!!:banana:

Hi everyone,

I am looking to book the bibbidi bobbidi boutique on board for our DD. I read somewhere that you may be able to book from mid Feb. I have looked around the web and the forums but haven't found any more info. Has anyone heard anything?

Thanks

Alba
