Hello! I'm a newbie to the boards. I really hope you guys can help me. We have already booked a trip to Disneyland for our daughter's 4th birthday from September 21-26. I noticed when they posted the September calendar that several activities and shows aren't listed. I called customer service and they said it just wasn't updated and to check back. I already know they are closing Hyperion Theater for refurbishment, so we'll miss Aladdin which is a bummer, but okay. What I'm most concerned about is Fantasy Faire. My daughter loved it last year and would be even more enthralled this year. Is it true they are closing it after Labor Day??? I found an article on mouseplanet.com that says it's closing after Labor day and moving to the Once Upon a Time shop, which will be gutted and redone for the face painting and hairdressing. I can't link the article because I don't have enought posts on this board. I'm freaking here! If this article is true it sounds like there won't be anything Fantasy Faire-esqe at all for a while.

Also, what about the parades? They aren't listed on the Sept calendar either. Neither is Fantasmic. I need to know in case there is time to reschedule our trip for a month earlier when all of this is still happening. WDYT? Does anyone know for sure what will be going on what will be closing??? TIA...I really appreciate any advice. :worship:

ACK!!! :scared1: Closing PFF?!?!

Will the princess "roam free" if they do? :confused3

Too many rumors of things I was looking forward to being being closed during our scheduled trip. My hair is starting to turn gray! (Well...continuing to turn gray at least.) :(

Okay your veterans out there how accurate is MiceAge with information on refurbs? :worried:

Fantasmic will be down during September and October so they can replace the old projectors with new ones.

I haven't heard anything about PFF being closed. They are going to be starting the Tinkerbelle Fairy interactions, but I don't believe PFF is scheduled to be closed because it is wildly popular. Once upon a Toy Store could not possibly hold the amount of little girls that want to see the princesses, that just doesn't make sense.

Al is usually pretty accurate in his stories at MiceAge.

I've been searching Mouseplanet for that article, and can't find anything on PFF closing after Labor Day. Can you at least guide us to where you found it (like under what section, and who is the author?)

Okay, so I'm responding to some posts to try to get up to 10 posts in order to link the article. Stay tuned...

I believe this is an old article. DL didn't know how well PFF was going to be received, but if the lines are any indiciation, this attraction will definitely be here past September 2008.

Somebody mentioned earlier that September is the end of Disney's fiscal year, so any scheduling for September and beyond isn't finished yet. I would just keep checking the schedule.

Here's the link to the article. The Fantasy Faire mention is at the bottom under Traveling Princesses. I wouldn't be as worried, but they still don't have Fantasy Faire listed on the calendar at disneyland.com after Labor Day. WDYT?

That article is like 10 months old! Obviously not accurate at this point since the most recent news is stating that the Fairies are going to Ariel's Grotto area by King Triton's Gardens.

PFF will be up and running in Sept, no worries.

Parade of Dreams and Pixar Play Parade should be running as well during that time.

It is being reported that Fantasmic will go down sometime in September to replace the 17 year old projectors with state of the art new ones. Fantasmic is slated to reopen in time for the Christmas holiday season in November.

I hope hat Fantasmic will remain open a few days after labor day. We are arriving on Sept 4 and have not seen DL's Fantasmic since its beginning in the 90s.....:worried:

Fantasmic too?? Ok, I talked my sister in law to come to DL from KANSAS in Sept. Last year, Halloween began the 3rd week. Ok, so we go the 3rd week. Nope Halloween the 4th week. Ok whatever, Then Aladdin closes, Now Fantasmic, of course we know about Small World. I'm gonna stop telling her things are closed because she got irritated when I told her Aladdin "maybe I just shouldn't come" (like it's MY fault) I also dont' see any parades but I assume those will be running. (they better be) Least it won't be crowded!

I don't think they're going to close the PFF. The PFF is popular and they make a lot of money off of it. While Tink is on a recognition level with the princesses, her friends aren't. For that reason I don't think they'll close PFF and replace the princesses with Tink and friends.

And all the Tink meet and greet rumors have her going to Ariel's Grotto while Ariel will move sans fins to the PFF until a more permanent location can be set up in DCA when the new ride opens.

If they do close the PFF, it will actually be easier to see specific princesses since you won't be subject to the PFF rotation. Before PFF, each princess had her own area near the castle where she would appear at specific times for meet and greets which was much nicer if, like me, you only wanted to see a specific princess.
