December 6th,
Empty Ship!
Maybe Skinny Dip,
On Fantasy ship?
Or Empty ship,
Just a myth?

There wasn't anyone else posting the pricing for this date on either opening day; and it's been three weeks since and no one has started a meet thread that I could find. I'm beginning to think hubby and I will be on the ship all by ourselves :) Well, I guess us and a bunch of strangers. Starting to wonder what's wrong with this week - that I have seriously overlooked an obvious failing and will be doomed with this sailing. (after re-reading, that rhymed, I guess found my inner dr suess today) But that's my luck I guess.

We had to move our Dec 2013 cruise back and picked 12/6/2014 as we've done St Thomas before but not St Maarten. So since they split the islands up we picked the with that one. We wanted to do Disney for the Holidays so we kept a December date for the cruise and will do a few days at Disney World before to see the new Fantasyland. Been waiting for the new snow white mine car ride. Soooooooo far away. :sad1:

Anyone else joining?

I might be. We celebrate St Nicholas Day (Dec 6th) and I can see my kids waking up to their suitcases on top of their shoes with tickets to Florida.

We will see. I have a lot going on 2014 all ready, so i am not sure if I can swing it yet.

But, I have secret packed them before, it's not beneath me at all to do it again:thumbsup2

I have added your thread to the cruise meet list :thumbsup2

have a great cruise!

If we book, feel free to go skinny dipping at night. We tend to go to bed by 11pm

lol, no fear of that. worst thing i'd subject anyone to is a bikini by the adult pool.... assuming i get back to bikini body shape by then. it's the goal, and with the change in dates, gave myself quite a bit of time to get there... but we'll still see what happens :)

Never heard of St Nicholas Day before, so I looked it up and wonder what rock we live under :p That's pretty neat and I think I figured out why my husbands family would do candy in the stocking for christmas. I had never heard of that before, my friends and i all got small toys, trinkets and like in our stockings. But they're part Polish so I wonder if the sweets in the shoes from St Nicholas Day transferred to candy in the christmas stockings.

well, hopefully we'll be seeing you and possibly some surprised kids :thumbsup2 we definitely have some time to go.

This would be my 5th Disney cruise from Jan-Dec in 2014. You don't think that is over the top or that I am crazy?:rotfl2:

trying for the grand slam or whatever they were calling it? all 4 ships in the same year? that would be awesome. :)

It actually started with the Magic, Wonder, and Fantasy, the three ships I haven't been on. My kids get individual trips even years, so I am taking my oldest to Spain, my middle one wanted a cruise and my youngest wanted a cruise and Disneyland.

Julie (middle one) ended up picking the TA cruise to Barcelona on the Magic. Then she wanted to go back to Disneyland Paris (because "it's just right there mom") Then all the kids found out and said forget it, they all wanted to do that as well. So, although 2014 is not suppose to be a family trip year, it ended up being one. I think after DLP we are going to tour the UK. Julie went back to the drawing board for her mommy and me trip and ended up on the Western Fantasy, but hers ends up going to Jamaica.

Then Samantha (youngest) realized she was missing the same amount of days taking the Wonder on Jan 10 and the Fantasy Western cruise Jan 18th. So we switched.

Nico (oldest) who is going to Spain for his trip. He's going for the soccer matches, decided that before he heads on a 12 days cruise across the Atlantic, he better make sure he doesn't get sea sick. So he asked for just a 3 day Dream cruise. Then I saw a meet thread for early Jan on a 4 day magic trip that have 4 kids. Two his age and all of them into football (soccer). So we switched. I wish he had taken the Wonder, but so be it.

This one, I saw your post and realized St Nicholas Day was on a Sat. When I can visualize and entire surprise trip in my head, I go for it. At least that is what I did in 2012 when i took Nico to London instead of Disney. Gave Julie a surprise trip to Disneyland and a surprise puppy and then took Sam on a surprise cruise. When I can visualize the entire surprise going down, I do it.;)

OMG..that was a long explanation. Sorry. :rotfl2:

that sounds awesome, i wish i was a part of your family when i was growing up :) i hope the kids appreciate it all. i'm in my thirties and it'll be my first trip to europe later this year. (and probably the last for a while until the confluence of lower airfares and the dollar crushing the euro happen :) ) its cool that the kids get to "start early" on these kind of trips. makes it nice later on to have a broad range of experiences when deciding where to go.

i always tell my husband the cruises are so we can sample an area and determine where we want to go back on a land trip.... apparently we're still sampling because most of our recent and future trips are cruises

Just wanted to say "hi!". I will be joining you on the Fantasy sailing on December 6, 2014! It will be my first Disney cruise (or any cruise for that matter). Solo traveler, single guy, in my 30's. Hope to meet lots of nice people on board! I am in an inside stateroom on deck 10, because I don't plan on spending much time in my room. I hope to book a Palo brunch, mixology tasting, and a tequila tasting. I am so excited to explore the Fantasy and all she has to offer as well as all the ports! Can't wait!

Welcome Josh

I played Kingdom Hearts 10 days later I beat it. The problem was I had other things I was suppose to be doing.:rotfl:

I hope you enjoy your first cruise :) I was sure I would hate cruising, but I ended up really enjoying it. :thumbsup2 I'm not a big eater, but there seems to be an abundance of amazing food that I am not required to cook. It tastes much better when someone else cooks it. ;)

I toured a lot on land and I really enjoy exploring the entire countries rather than just one day. My first was the UK and once I found myself staring at the Magna Carta, I realized traveling was my hobby. I'm not a huge beach person, so for me to visit one town in the Bahamas, or St Thomas, that is good. Cruise is perfect in that regard.:thumbsup2

I am not convinced I would love the Med Cruise. I really want to explore Florence, Italy and not spend a half a day there. Pisa sucked. 1 hour there get your pics and get the heck out was fine, but Rome, Florence, Tuscany..one stop wouldn't be enough. Why am I rambling on about this?? That is the trip for May 2015 and I was debating if I should take the kids on a tour or if I should do the cruise and let the hotel follow us instead of packing every other day to move to the next city. There is so much to see in Italy and then they all want to head to Switzerland. A land tour would probably be the best option.

Hi there! We will be joining you on this cruise - all the way from South Africa! We are a family of four - my husband and I and then our 2 boys who will be aged 5 and 3. The big boy will turn 6 after the cruise whilst we are staying in Orlando and it is our 10th wedding anniversary on 4 December, so it's a cruise of celebrations! Looking forward to chatting more... Jo

When I was in Italy and Switzerland I met a South African couple that turned out to be some of my favorite people.

No kidding about the Euro. If we were smarter, we would head to south american where the dollar goes a little farther.

Where are you headed in Europe? I'm in my 30's too and really started traveling overseas more recently. Well, I traveled as a child, but only more recently since I had to pay for it. My brothers and a lot of cousins went overseas when they were in their early 20s, but stayed in youth hostels and backpacked across Europe. I stay in hotels with room service and tour with drivers and guides. It's all about what you are looking for in your experience.

Thanks so much! We try our best to be friendly and cheerful! Don't know how I am going to operate on a normal basis for the net 600 or so days!! In a way I wish we hadn't booked so early as I just cannot stop researching!!

Planning is part of the fun of the trip :thumbsup2 I love the boats and Castaway Cay decorated for Christmas.

I know what you mean about booking early. However, 600+ days will never do. 91 more Fridays until our cruise:goodvibes

Hello Everyone!!! I have officially switched our booking to this cruise! This will be our 4th Disney cruise and 2nd time on the Fantasy. I am absolutely looking forward to sailing on her again because she is the most beautiful ship :)

My crew consists of:

Me - Kateesha (turning 31 on the cruise)
DH - Marcus (30 when we cruise)
DD - Kamari (8 when we cruise)
DS - Marcus (6 when we cruise)

Anyone interested in doing an FE exchange? I know it's early, but never too early to plan :cool1: Are any of you on Facebook? I created a Facebook group page for our March Fantasy cruise and it was a great success. In fact, we're still chatting. But because I also love the Disboards, I'm always on both :thumbsup2

I'm looking forward to getting to know all of you along the way!!

:welcome:Kamari, Marcus Sr, Jr and Kateesha:welcome:

I am from the Silver Spring area and my step father works for Fairfax County, so I have been to Woodbridge many times. I almost bought a house there before I moved to ATL. I am on FB, but I don't think there is a group started for this cruise.

Hi there. We would love to be involved in FE exchange as long as someone with a lot of patience will hold our hands through it. Also on FB but pretty sure there isn't a group for this cruise yet.

Happy dreaming everyone
