Fantasy Cruise - July 5, 2014

Hey everyone! My name is Katherine! My best friend Brittany and I are going on this cruise together for the first time ALONE. I am happy to have found this group early because we want to be close with all of you! If there is a fish extender page on Facebook or just a list made already, we would LOVE to be added on (: 337 days until we leave for Jamaica and we can't wait!
A little fun fact about us (:
We met on the Disney Magic in 2009 and have been best friends ever since! Last year we accidentally booked the same cruise on the Fantasy to the Western Carribean. That cruise was the first time we saw each other in 3 years!! This years trip we planned together, sat at the same table the whole week, and went to the Western Carribean like last year! We actually just got off the ship on the 27th of July. We cannot wait to get to know you all and I know this is a lot to read but I hope you liked our story (:
Where is everyone from?
First cruisers?
This is My 9th cruise and Brittany's 12th cruise!

as mentioned above I have a son that will be 20 and another that will be 17 at time of cruise....we will also be at WDW for about 4 days prior the cruise.

So who else is coming in your party? :beach:

I am so excited for this cruise! Like Brittany said, she will be turning 20 and ill be turning 19! Her birthday is on the 8th and mine is on the 11th! What are your children's names? What other itineraries have you been through? Like eastern Caribbean? western Caribbean? Alaska?

that is going to be so much fun for the 2 of you :cool1: I bet you can hardley wait :beach:

who else will be coming with the both of you?

so lets see...have done both Eastern and western and Alaska..however Jamaica is new for DCL but have been there as well on another ship years ago in my younger days...we did the falls there and also rented a driver that took us all over but we were docked way closer to the falls at that time...not so far away...we will be doing the caves...but I think you both would really enjoy the falls....may change my mind and do that again only because the boys have never been there to do the falls...

We love both the Eastern and Western...but Grand Cayman is just so beautiful...the water and the beaches are gorgeous...I think we will be doing the Stingray city tour if we don't do it on our own...

not sure what we are going to do in Mexico...maybe just eat...go out on our own...we will have to see...or maybe just do the beach day...alot of times we just do the same thing that the ship does but book it on our own its cheeper and we are still with the people from the cruise.

Alaska...well well....it is awe inspiring...that cruise will stay with me forever...and my family. Pictures of its beauty does it no justice till you see it with your own eyes....you will want a verandah for sure if you ever do that cruise...a verandah is a must!

The Panama Canal was also great if you have not yet dont that...loved that tons because it was 14 days and loved staying on the ship for that long....ever since that, 7 days does not do a cruise justice :) going through the locks was fascinating...thats another cruise you want a verandah on so you can sit on your verandah and look down as you go through the locks....they start through the locks like at 6am and many people sleep on the deck so they have a front seat all day...but it is an all day event..so on your verandah you can have room service bring you your breakfast or bring it down from upstairs and eat why you enjoy...

have been on many many cruises through Disney and others...Disney of course is our favorite so we cruise the most with them.

We were going to go to Aulani in Hawaii but decided we did not want to spend $3000+ to fly there....so the Fantasy was our next choice...glad that we made it.

So what cruises have you done?

Well for me personal, I've only done Eastern and Western Caribbean. You know, St. Maartin* St. Thomas, Cozumel, Costa Maya, Grand Caymen. The only time I've bet been on a cruise other then disney was my sophomore year of high school with my schools band for our trip on the Royal Caribbean.... Too bad I will ONLY cruise Disney. I know it sounds intense, but once you go on, it's hard to compare it to any other ship in my opinion lol
And for the question of "who else is going" it's just the two of us!

Same here its hard to cruise on anything else...have not been on another line for a long time....

you both are going to have so much fun together again...are either of you in college? why did you choose the Caribbean again instead of like Alaska?

I will be starting college in the fall for childhood education!

I have heard rave reviews about how gorgeous and perfect Alaska is but honestly, even though I complain sometimes about how ungodly hot it is, I love doing either the Western or Eastern cruises. Right now this cruise will be our third year in a row doing the Western Caribbean.

Why did you choose to do Western instead of an Alaskan, Mediterranean, or Eastern cruise?
I've ALWAYS wanted to do a Mediterranean one but that would be years and years from now haha, maybe honeymoon someday lol

We are off on our Cruise on the Fantasy in a few days leave on August 9th 2013 and wanted to try to get in on the Fish Extenders groups any help would be greatly appreciated.

I am booking this cruise in a week. We are going on the Wonder this year to Alaska and got off the Dream July 4, 2013. We sailed on the Magic twice, once the Eastern Caribbean in 09 and the second time out of NYC June of
2012. We are so excited to try the Fantasy.

:beach: Looking forward as well being on the Fantasy for the first time.

Hi Michael,
Did you try the cruise meets for your cruise date to see who is heading up the FE for that cruise? :scratchin here is the link to your cruise meet....that is where you ask if you can still get on the FE being it is so late...sometimes there is a cut off date so people have time to get the things they need for each person that decides to do the FE...you may also want to remove your phone number and last name from the boards :thumbsup2.....if you need help PM it to me :thumbsup2:beach:
have an awesome cruise...oh and I am assuming your cruise is on Aug 10 correct? Here is the link below to that cruise meet.....there are a lot of folks on it and matter of fact a lot doing the Fe that they split it into 2 groups... :)

here is some info about being able to wear shorts in the MDR...they have made the MDR attire even more casual....just thought I would add this since many hear have cruised DCL before and your brain is set on what was what know no longer is....

Dear XXXXXXXXXX,

Thank you for your email.

Your thoughtfulness in sharing your observations with ways we can
improve our cruise experience is much appreciated.

The information you are seeing on the message boards is correct. Please
note the following:

"Dining attire varies by venue or theme night on your cruise. In
general, most meals are "Cruise Casual"-- shorts, jeans, khakis and
capris are permitted; however, we ask that Guests refrain from wearing
swimwear or tank tops in the dining rooms."

However, although 'shorts' are now acceptable, those of us who still
want to 'dress for dinner' can certainly still do so.

I hope this information has been helpful. If you require further
assistance with any other inquiries, please feel free to contact us.

We look forward to sailing with you!

Have a Magical Day!

So how is everyone?? Only 326 days until the cruise lol! How many people are sailing with family members 18+?
Anyone a cast member just going on vacation? Or anyone doing why Brittany and I are doing and sailing in a pair?

We just book our 2nd Disney Cruise this time on the Fantasy July 5, 2014. We're all excited and can't wait, looking forward to meeting new people.
We are excited too!! Brittany and I are sharing a room together and this will be our third "intentional" cruise together but fourth cruise over all. "Intentional" in the sense that we were planing things together while our first cruise "together" was the first time we met in 2009 on the Magic (:
If any of that made sense haha. It's late (2:10 in the morning) lol

We have a son who is 18 and is going with us.
Nice!! We can't wait to meet him at our meet up/ at the tube!!
Hopefully we start our fishextender group soon with names, cabin # etc. so then we can think about a meet up and a good time to do it! Lol but we have time to figure that all out

We have a son who is 18 and is going with us.

Smoking as of today no longer allowed on Verandahs...

by Leah Zanolla
Aug 13, 2013

Disney Cruise Line is revising their policy on smoking onboard their ships.

The official statement reads:

"From time to time we make adjustments to our operation based upon Guest feedback. Effective Nov. 15, 2013, Guests will no longer be permitted to smoke on stateroom verandahs onboard Disney Cruise Line ships. However, it is recognized that some Guests smoke. To provide an onboard atmosphere that also satisfies smokers, portions of open-air decks on each ship are designated as smoking areas. Smoking is not allowed on stateroom verandahs. Guests who are found smoking in their staterooms or on their verandahs will be charged a $250 stateroom recovery fee. This fee covers a deep cleaning to include air filter replacement, carpet extraction, the cleaning and replacement of drapes, comforters, blankets, and pillows, along with verandah cleaning and maintenance."

http://www.wdwinfo.com/news/disney-...nger_allow_smoking_on_stateroom_verandahs.htm
