**Fantasy Becomes Reality** Group--5/19/2012 (INDEX/ROLE CALL, PAGE 1--ENTRY 1)

:lmao: :rotfl2: :rotfl:

Of course, it cuts both ways.... he says as he puts together his must-have list of lenses he absolutely cannot do without...

Maybe getting DH into photography wasn't such a good idea afterall ;)
I get so excited every time I look at the Fantasy board and read all the posts, especially when someone (sorry I don't remember who) mentioned that the cruise is next month. Excited and panicked, need to figure out what to pack and get started on those FEs! :scared1:

Just in case you missed it before – I am a HUGE Donald Duck fan & Donald Applecore is the name of one of my favorite Donald Duck shorts. If you want to watch it, there is a link to it in my signature.

Something you guys don’t know is that I have been in the process of opening my own law practice for that past six months or so. I was laid off from a small firm last summer. (They apparently were having money issues, as they closed their doors at the end of the year). I got a few job offers, but nothing I really wanted to do so I turned them down – ultimately I decided to just GO FOR IT!

Anyway, I have started very small – doing a lot of contract work for other firms to make ends meet & keep the doors open. I also have an adjunct position at one of the law schools here in the meteroplex. I recently started putting together my web-site. The process is very slow as I am doing it myself & I am not very overly tech-savvy. Check it out if you like, its still incomplete, but feedback is welcome. (feel free to PM feedback if you prefer, but I am pretty thick skinned;))

Good luck with your practice! Thanks for posting the cartoon, that was cute. What a great way to get a board name, wish I would have thought of something like that :)

I think I am spending too much time on the DIS Boards. We had a new heating/cooling system installed in our house. The code calls for a pipe vent out. It's ugly, so DH painted it DIS Board green. I attached a fish extender magnet from a previous cruise and took these picture.

Woo hoo!! How many days??????

So I just went on the website looking around. One of the royal suites is available for our cruise. Very tempting...LOL Only $20,000 for 2 adults and 1 child. Not gonna happen. But interesting.

I went to my parents house for the boys' spring break and the board exploded, haha :) It was driving me nuts because their internet isn't very cooperative and I could read, but couldn't reply... So now I'm all caught up on the additional several pages, but can't reply to everything! I'll pick a couple of favorite topics...

1. 5K-- how cool! I love that they give everyone a little something. I'm hoping there's no time limit, lol ;)

2. Royal Suite-- double cool! But ditto-- NOT gonna happen, lol :)

3. Poo in the pool-- That's just gross. Maybe having the Nemo and Splash Zone areas will help give them something to do rather than contaminate the Mickey Pool. Once my kids hear about this, I won't have to worry about them going near it, but still... Makes me cringe to think of how much they played in it on our last cruise :scared: Glad they can both swim on this one!!!!

Our countdown chain is getting shorter and shorter! It started out dragging on the floor and it's now halfway up the wall! I think I look forward to taking a link off more than the boys do!!!!

I forgot to answer the name question-- oops! Mine is kind of self explanatory though ;) As for the little known fact... I was a soap box derby racer in Akron, Ohio (home of Derby Downs) when I was in high school. My oldest raced our local last year and won! For any of you who have seen the movie 25 Hill that Corbin Bernsen put out last year to help save the Derby, I was the mom running down the track, haha :) As our local champ, he got to go to champ week in Akron this past summer and raced in the 2012 All American Soap Box Derby on the same track I raced on ** years ago! ;) This year, both boys plan to build cars and race... The tradition continues :)

I am almost pretty sure that I will do the 5K on CC - never did it there in the past, but I like that you can get a "medal" and a t-shirt (I think you buy the shirt). My 2nd 5K (Disney Princess Rapunzel race) was my best time ever, avg 16 min mile! And, anyhow, the race is in the morning, and we don't leave CC until around 5PM, so I am sure we who are slow will still finish :rotfl2:

Answering those who asked about DVC member recognition on the cruise:

DVC members get a magnet on their door (although occasionally, if you are not using your points, you may get missed - easily rectified when you stop at the DVC booth). This year, the magnets were not dated, which made me sad, since I had a collection of them over the years. :confused3 There is generally a DVC member gathering, to which you get an invitation in your room, with mimosas/champagne and DVC-logo prizes given out for playing fun trivia-type games. :cool1: and a drawing, usually for an on-board credit :woohoo: You should also get a DVC gift in your room one night. There will usually also be a couple of info sessions for non-members, to which members may go as well.

Some names have been discussed before, like DonaldApplecore for example.
But I've been wondering what some of the others mean...please share! And Bryan...feel free to share again!

My screen name is the same name as my email addy - originally created by DD23 when she was young and we first got email. I would not allow her to have her own so we shared (we have the same initials). Her baby room was decorated in carousels, hence the name...when she got old enough to get her own ID, I made her create a new one, and I kept the established one, with "carousel" close to being a Disney reference.

Also, please share one thing that no one here on the boards yet knows about you...it could be that you ran a personal best marathon, or got a doctorate that we don't know about.

WOW! I did just do my personal best 5K at the Princess races in Feb 2012 :cheer2: averaged a 16-min mile walking!

And, although I dislike Halloween, I went to Mickey's Not So Scary HP dressed as the Fairy Godmother, and had the best time! Everyone acted as if I were the real one, asking me to grant wishes, etc! :wizard:

Last time we got a nice little DVC cruise journal/scrapbook with a wooden pen that went in it as well as a couple of DVC lanyards. If I remember correctly, we also got messages on our phone on a couple of days telling us that there was a special edition pin being given away at the DVC table and we did go get those too (they're on my DVC lanyard now :) )When you went to the members gathering, they had a couple of tables filled with DVC logo stuff for the taking (hats, notepads, pens, etc.). We couldn't stay for the gathering last time (I don't remember why?) but plan to this time... I went to the regular presentation as well and they had some raffle stuff there too. It must have worked because we ended up adding on another 100 points worth of BLT :)

Friends:
DizDaddy may already know this, may have mentioned in PM to him. But for rest this can be a fun riddle.

I chose my Disname based on a character in a favorite book. (oh, I mean the DLF. The "246" is meaningless... just to get the name accepted).

The book was not a Disney book when I chose the name many years ago. But now the character has been in a Disney movie.

Ok,,, any Disney trivia fanatics out there???!!! Who or what character is DLF?

I'll guess.
