**Fantasy Becomes Reality** Group--5/19/2012 (INDEX/ROLE CALL, PAGE 1--ENTRY 1)

Keep your fingers crossed for us and please send some prayers. My uncle Tony is in the hospital and very sick, they aren't sure if he is going to pull through. We're hoping that they will be able to get him well and that he'll pull through.

My grandmother is with us until my graduation ceremony but if Uncle Tony Passes she'll have to fly back home to MA/CT to attend the funeral and be with family as its her brother. I'm afraid of how his death would affect her given her quickly progressing already dementia.

Depending on how the next few days go, will also decide if we end up attending the Fantasy Sail-A-Bration at Jetty Park on Saturday. But given the situation we would be sad to miss the event but family comes first.

52 Days to figure out what we are going to pack, and we'll be boarding the ship. By this time we will be onboard-have had lunch-checked out our stateroom- and would be up on deck having a Drink of the Day. Given how the last 6-10 months have gone for us I will enjoy that DOD!

Do you have a link or more information on the Fantasy Sail-A-Bration? I think we might be interested but I don't know anything about it. Thanks

1) What one thing are you most interested in "discovering" on the Fantasy?

Everything!!

2) Who are you most excited to see/meet and why?

We're crossing our fingers that we'll get our favourite head server, Cedomir. Otherwise, Cruise Director Brent and donaldsgal, her sister, and niece! We're hopping we have good table mates too.

3) What is/are your kids most over-the-moon excited about?

We are both big kids, and we are looking forward to mini golf, the AquaDuck, and seeing the kids' clubs and wishing we were young enough to play with all the cool stuff there. :)

4) What non-kid activity are you most looking forward to?

Art of the ship tour, if they have it. Otherwise, I haven't a clue... most things we do are kid-friendly. And without any kids, everything is just us anyway...

5) What flavor/taste are you most looking forward to on the Fantasy?

Call me strange, but I'm looking forward to chips (french fries)! We don't eat them at home and a plate of chips makes a yummy cruise snack. I'm also excited to see what sort of allergy-friendly dessert they will make me. Chocolate lava cake? Cobbler? They never disappoint!

Gail, We're sorry to hear of your uncle's illness, we send our best wishes to all your family.

Elaine, Bryan and Hannah

***Remy dinner available.*** We just cancelled our sea day reservation for day six (May 24) for two. We were able to get one on day five for our whole party of six adults, so gave up the sea day for that. JUMP ON IT!!!

Thanks! Unfortunately when I just checked a little while ago...still all sold out...

If people try to park at Jetty Park itself its recommended you get there very early and its $10 if you are not from Brevard County. Free Shuttles and Free Parking will be located just outside the park and its starting at 3:30pm.

We're hoping to make it but it all depends on how my Uncle Tony does.

I'll keep everyone posted to say we need this cruise is an understatement.

Ladies and Gents, here is the food pics board that I enjoyed perusing before our last cruise. It is 120 pages long and starts with pics from 2005, so unless you have HOURS to kill, start at the end and browse backwards. I believe someone called this "food p*rn" in another thread. Not sure that's true, but it's really amazing to see how many people stopped and took pictures of their food before eating! What a nice glimpse into our futures...

Thanks! Our eldest (Elle) was 17 months when we took our last cruise, but it was only 4 nights and we didn't put her in the nursery. She'll be 4 this time. In fact, the cruise is sort of a birthday celebration, as well as our vacation. :) She'll be off to enjoy the clubs. Little sister (Alex) had been booked for a few hours in the nursery when we go to Palo and Remy, but I'm not sure how or when else we might want to do that. --How'd the evacuation drill go when your DD was 4 months? I remember the struggle we had getting that life jacket thing on a 17 month old...not looking forward to trying it on a 5 month old. lol.

Thanks! I see you are in Manchester. My DH was born in Bebington, so not too far from you. :)

The drill was no problem at all because we were not required to put life jackets on. Our last several cruises that was not required. Not sure if things changed since the Concordia though. Our last cruise was in December on RCCL. My DW and I forgot to ask the room steward for an infant life vest. Then the very next month the Concordia happens. We both turned to each other and said how stupid it was of us not to remind the room steward for one. My DW now wants us to take an emergency bag with us and include diapers, wipes, food, water, etc. She was saying how she couldn't imagine what we would do in that situation. While the chances are so remote it's not worth the argument!!! So starting with this sailing we'll have an emergency bag.

The last 3 cruises there was not a nursery, so we are looking forward to that option on the Fantasy. Our DD goes to daycare everyday so it shouldn't be an issue. At 4 months we had our family with us. At 10 months we were on our own, but cruised from Bayonne so if it fit in the car it went on the ship! At 17 months we were allowed to use the ship's in room babysitting service, but at $19/hour we only used it once! One of the toughest things on that cruise is we had one tender port. Our DD refuses to wear a hat, so on the tender we were fully exposed to the sun with no escape. She cried for the entire ride back to the ship. For this cruise we have family with us again so it should be a bit easier.

I have had a very unhealthy addiction to this thread for the last few years, haha :) All I can say is YUMMMMMMM!!!!

Is anyone planning on visiting Grand Case in St. Martin? My DW and I will be headed there first thing, if anyone else wants to share a ride...

Can't wait! :woohoo:

I have to confess that I took pictures of every meal on our cruise. Maybe that's why our tablemates changed to early dining.... But, I also take food pics at home so my family it used to it.

TexFinn- what part of Austin are you in? :)

Stephanie - we are north, in Avery Ranch. Are you from here?

Congrats on all of those big events! I updated your profile to include Alex!!!

Awwww, congrats from us too! And Tony - you are so good to do this for everyone and stay on top of things!

I do that too!!! :goodvibes Usually though, just of my fancy drinks....:rolleyes1

Ok, my turn and can I say -- love the random question/answer thing!!!

1) What one thing are you most interested in "discovering" on the Fantasy?

Europa! Last time I didn't get to spend any time at all in the adult clubs -- DH wasn't into it. This time, am hoping I will get to enjoy them a bit -- especially Oh La La!!!

2) Who are you most excited to see/meet and why?

Well, can't wait to meet all of you! :grouphug: And am very excited about seeing my tablemates/room neighbors again. Haven't seen most of them since our cruise 3 years ago -- although was a FAB early DIS-meet last Saturday with 3 of them.....:cloud9:

3) What is/are your kids most over-the-moon excited about?

Kai - Aquaduck, hands down although we saw a YouTube video of the Muppets mid-ship detective agency and he is excited about that.
Sabrina - right now she wants to get into the Edge but is not old enough. Let's see how difficult she will be on this trip....

4) What non-kid activity are you most looking forward to?

Champagne tasting if they have it!!! Also, dinner at Palo and hopefully, if it pans out, dinner at Remy!!! Massage also sounds devine and hoping to book 1 or 2 port specials at the spa :)

5) What flavor/taste are you most looking forward to on the Fantasy?

The new champagne although at $26 a glass, may just buy a bottle and bring home. Also, the Palo Chocolate souffle....yum yum yum.

So, work has been so busy I have had no time to sneak away and read the boards!!! :scared1:

I am a little freaked at how little time we have left between now and the cruise. With my SIL visiting for the next month am worried that when she leaves, will be in full on panic mode to get the FE gift together!

Hope you are all having a good week. Sorry been so MIA lately. Happy to see the board so active! Can't believe we are well over 100 pages!!!

FE REQUEST!

Hope everyone is getting those FE gifts done. I've had several requests to get the gender for the kids. Some of the names are unfamiliar and we're not sure if the child is a princess or a pirate.

PLEASE - if your child's name(s) don't have a gender associated with them on the spreadsheet, send me a PM so I can get the spreadsheet updated!

Also, the way the spreadsheet is laid out, there are some rows with two staterooms. That is a SINGLE FE, but all the people in the staterooms are part of that FE. There are some people that show up on multiple rows (bookite, [bookite]). EACH of those rows is a separate FE. The rule is: a row equals an FE. Again, if that needs correction, please send me a PM and I'll get it fixed ASAP.

Coming down to the wire! Guess I better get going on the gifts.:rotfl:

John

John,
Thank you it will make it easier to figure out the FEs, which I am still in the planning process - kind of. We've bought stuff now to figure out what to do with it :rotfl2:

Hello again Cruisers!! Sorry I've been off for awhile, but I have been trying to keep up with what is going on through email. I am going to step away from the FE. I was listed as a maybe - I believe - but I just don't have enough time and creativity to come up with awesome FE's. I've been trying to look back trough the posts....someone gave me their email so I can email a pic of my to post in the roll call....can't find that message, could that kind person please give me your email again? I have also seen everyone makign their touring plans for St. Maarten and St. Thomas/St. John....We have finally decided that in St. Maarten we are going to rent a jeep and explore the island. We will head up to Le Galion - Coconut Beach or aka babies beach. Quiet, shallow and of course beautiful. It's on the North East side of the island, just south of Orient beach. We then are going to drive around the north coast and then back south to Marigot for some French lunch (YUM!) and then we are going over to Maho Beach to watch the planes come in at the Sunset bar and grill. Afterwards shopping in Phillipsburg and then back onto our Fantasy (yes, it's ours, we are just letting you all stay with us! LOL) Since we will be at port there the longest we decided to really make a day of it and try to see "everything" ! St Thomas; we check out Coral world, and WOW. Disney only has it a a 3.5 hour excursion, but from all that we saw, that's like going to Sea World for only 3.5 hours including drive time! Crazy! So we will grab a cab and spend the day with the fish, turtles and sea lions!!! Normall, we NEVER do anything that isn't a cruise excursion - just for safty... especially after our Jamacia trip ((shutters)) but we have 4 Hurricane Hunter and their families for neighbors...and aside from our neighborhood getting buzzed all the time - lol - they guys are in the Virgin Islands all the time during Hurricane Season and they have told us it would be fun and safe to go cruising around on our own. They even told us their favorite places to eat and shop! I can't wait!! We are all so excited here and I can't get enough of checking the Fantasy on AIS, or watching Disney cruise vacation videos on Youtube, or reading through EVERY activity on Disneycruiseline.com......we are a 1st time Disney Cruiser....so come on MARCH 5TH already!!!!! Even through we payed in full when we booked, still have to wait.....tick tock...where is Captain Hook's Crock???

Jaimie:
