**Fantasy Becomes Reality** Group--5/19/2012 (INDEX/ROLE CALL, PAGE 1--ENTRY 1)

I would be very surprised if that is out by that estimated date. For the last I'd say 2-3 years PassPorter has missed dates for guides being released by. They have become to unreliable for shipping dates, publication dates, etc that I will wait until the guides are in stock before I believe that they will have them. Last years Cruise Guide was due out in February, then March, then April, then May, then June, Then July and I didn't get my copy until mid-late August.

This years guide was supposed to be out by February, now your saying April seems like a similar story going on. They say one thing, and do another.

I have a friend who pre-ordered a guidebook last year for her trip to WDW, and didn't get her pre-order until 2 weeks after the book started shipping out to NEW orders. She had put her pre-order in the day they opened for Pre-orders.

While the guides do have a plethora of information in it, the guide was written at least 3-4 months ago, and won't have a ton of information in it for the Fantasy. It will cover the ports we are going to but that same information can be found by reading the DIS and using the website wdwinfo.com.

Just keep an eye out on their website for updates in case the date for delivery changes again this year like it did last year.

We are using last years given the Fantasy won't be covered in detail in the guide this year.

Thanks for letting me know. I ordered via AMAZON and can cancel anytime. No worries. ;)

Happy Birthday!!

Howdy Neighbor!! We are in room #7548!!! I hesitate to say hello, just on the off chance that we are that family that everyone dreads having as neighbors ;)

I would love to go to Harry Potter and Universal. We are just staying at the port. I cannot get my DH to budge on staying at DW.

Congrats on the 83 lbs lost :worship: I was doing the C25K program but injured my back so now I am back to walking. I seem to be gaining weight the closer we get to the cruise. :confused3

I hope everyone has a great Sunday. I am working 7 days a week right now so I do not get on here near as much as I would like.

@Kim...Ditto!! So funny you'd say that...I was thinking the same thing...hope we are not too loud?.....Our balconies must adjoin then right?:littleangel:

thx for the bday wishes!

in reading threads on DIS about the 5k there are mixed responses as to how much of a "race" it is. it's low key but it seems like most have been getting a certificate and a medal for participating.

i was using the c25k program and got to wk 5 out of 9 then stayed there out of fear of moving on, then jumped right into the "lets just go out and run the 8k course and see what happens" moment :rolleyes::eek:

i'm going to go find our rooms and see what i put for my parents. my il's tried to cancel a few months ago so we switched my parents to their room so we would be ajoined but now they are coming again so...i am pretty sure this is where they are going to be. i'll make sure before it gets to close so everyone can print out a spreadsheet with correct info, lol! (guess i could go look at a ship map too and see which of those cabins connect, huh?)

can i just say, i am SO happy spring is finally here. we bought a new house with a fabulous screened in porch that we haven't used properly even once since we closed the end of september! until tonight!! :woohoo: so.very.happy.

I'm glad the 5K isn't competitive, we get enough of that in real life, it's nice to just relax and enjoy the scenery. And, as you said, run somewhere other than a deck loop.

Am enjoying all the youtube videos of the ship. can't wait for the maiden voyage and all the resulting pictures and videos. I also can't wait to hear about the new shows. Anyone heard anything about them? I'm excited that they're doing Aladdin, it's always been one of my favorites.

As for the GTY rates, I had one on my last cruise last summer on the Med and we didn't get assigned a cabin until 3 weeks before departure. The methodology seems to be a mystery, as some already have theirs. Not sure, :confused3, but it will come, and it sure is a good feeling when you get it, so good luck.

Can't believe it's inching up on us!!!

I had you guys in rooms, 8550, 8552, and either 8548 or 8554.

Sitting here listening to Magic Kingdom Main St. Area Loop on d-cot.com. I put it on replay and it's like working on Main St. for 9 hours!

Officially made our pre-cruise hotel reservations!!! We're going to surprise the boys with a day at Universal. We are HUGE Harry Potter fans and they would give their right arm to go to HP world, but we told them it was too expensive :) It's not something we would usually do, but I convinced the DH it would be cheaper to do it this way than it would be to take a whole separate trip to go. They've been waiting patiently, so I think it's time (and Mommy is just as big of a fan, so I'm not sure who's more anxious to get there!!!). Plus, their old favorite babysitter is working at DW and she's going to meet us for the day. Since none of my 3 boys will ride roller coasters, I'm pretty sure this is a treat for me too since it will give me a riding buddy!

I also got step one of the FE gifts done today! Now the last details are finishing up the last step of those and then working out ground transportation. Nothing left after that except to pack! :) :) :)

Hope everyone else is having a great weekend!!!!

We've also booked our pre cruise accom and will be going to WWOHP. Went there last year, it was amazing, I'm sure your boys will love it. The main ride is a robot arm, not a coaster, and the queueing area is fantastic. :banana:The Dragon Challenge is a loop coaster, I didn't go on it, but Bryan and Hannah did, they loved it. :scared1:The other coaster, flight of the Hipogriff is very, very mild, even I went on it. Don't forget to look for the nesting Hippogriff at the start and bow to it! Like you we are all big Harry Potter fans, my eldest daughter's claim to HP fame is that she went to college with someone who had a small part in the first movie.

Have a great week everybody, and see you in a couple of months.

Jen - the boys will LOVE LOVE LOVE it!!! My kids asked to there instead of WDW but I really needed my WDW fix so overrulled them. The deal with them now is when Kai finishes reading the series, we will make a trip there again as a family. How Exciting! :goodvibes

:thumbsup2 That's Awesome! We went over Christmas 2010 & had a great time at WWOHP. We love Disney, but we love going to Universal too!

Great picture Bryan!

I've been getting healthy this year, lost 83 lbs. ..... So I'm game for runs around the deck with anyone who's up for it and willing to run with a SLOW jogger.
Meg

:worship::worship::worship: 83 lbs!!!! :worship::worship::worship:

That is GREAT Meg! As for jogger - I read somewhere that no matter how slow you are, you are still lapping everyone sitting on the couch. :rotfl: I think of that as my motto when I run (or at least when I used to run before this dang leg injury). I am a 11 -12 minute/mile runner so pretty darn slow but hey, still faster than sitting in this chair!!! :goodvibes

Eating right, consistent exercise. Muscles building, but still not much of a change in the belly fat. And weight is still the same, though I know that some of the fat has been replaced by muscle.

Hang in there -- I have the same issues but keep at it. Slow and steady right??? :cloud9:

......WHEW! Unless someone posts in the next hour, I think we have the FE List all buttoned up. EVERYONE, please let me know ASAP if I missed you, or you need your info updated.

Now to get started on those FE gifts! :yay:

Thank you so much for coordinating this!!! :):)

I just placed a pre-order for the newest passporters guide for DCL due out April 10th!! Yay! Anyone else picking this up?

Amanda - will just wait to hear all of secrets from you!
No seriously, let me know if I should buy once you get it. I am "glass half full" so going to believe you will get it on time. :cloud9:

@Kim...Ditto!! So funny you'd say that...I was thinking the same thing...hope we are not too loud?.....Our balconies must adjoin then right?:littleangel:

Lisa, you and Kim crack me up! I am rooming next to Kathy and Brian and have worried about the same thing...Hopefully the kids aren't too loud for them!

....can i just say, i am SO happy spring is finally here. we bought a new house with a fabulous screened in porch that we haven't used properly even once since we closed the end of september! until tonight!! :woohoo: so.very.happy.

Lara - I can completely understand. We started Spring Break here in Austin with rain and 40 degree weather. Thankfully it warmed up and cleared yesterday and we should be back in the 70s this week. Kids are anxious to get into the pool but it is still sitting at 60's...brrrrr....

.....:The other coaster, flight of the Hipogriff is very, very mild, even I went on it. Don't forget to look for the nesting Hippogriff at the start and bow to it! Like you we are all big Harry Potter fans, my eldest daughter's claim to HP fame is that she went to college with someone who had a small part in the first movie.

Elaine - we went when Kai was 5 and he loved that roller coaster! We are big HP fans too. Sabrina even got the cloak (from my mom, I am not that crazy to spend that $$). Pretty cool claim to fame!! I would claim it too!!!! :goodvibes

Hi Everyone!

I need a serious countdown for the cruise - have to keep looking at everyone's tickers! :goodvibes

Bought FE supplies to try me "demo" to see if it is going to work. Crossing my fingers!! :scared:

My goal today is to finalize my plans for the trip - not counting the touring plans for WDW. Still need to buy the Stay Certificate for Hyatt, cancel reservations at the Swan, send my flight info to DU and order the Disney Rewards card.

Since the kids are on Spring Break - also planning on having the kids sit in front of the magnet and FE boards and look for designs for our door and possible FE gift ideas for the kids.

I am getting so excited! Things will start going quickly for me. Next week I head to DC for a "girl's weekend" - my first ever since getting married! :woohoo: Then, my SIL and her family will arrive the first week of April for a month which has me excited but also just a bit of --->:scared1: Figure by the time they leave, it will be almost time for the cruise!!!!! :woohoo:

Would love to drop weight by then but not going to stress about it, will just continue, slow and steady with my plan and hope I can continue in the right direction. :goodvibes

Hope to post updated pics soon. Have a great day all!!!!
Mati

so this is a total thread hijack, lol, but i just have to say, we moved to surrey, england (where harry's aunt and uncle live) a couple of years after the first movie came out and i totally felt like i was living in harry potter, lol! we recently had one of the girls we met there come visit us over thanksgiving and it all came rushing back. i guess some of those kids knew kids who went to school with draco at a private school nearby. so fun!

anyway, johnPA, so sorry for the confusion, if it makes you feel any better, i am just as confused...:confused3 BUT i had a captive dh for a brief moment and got him to get into the most recent info and what i posted last night is correct (NOT what i sent you apparently) sorry about that!!

HEHE - yeah, us DH's can be a pain, can't we?:lmao:

No worries - got the spreadsheet updated with the stateroom numbers.

Lisa, you and Kim crack me up! I am rooming next to Kathy and Brian and have worried about the same thing...Hopefully the kids aren't too loud for them!

I am sure that you and the kids will not bother us at all :dance3:. Brian can sleep through ANYTHING :scared1:. Now, maybe once our "pre-dinner cocktail bar" opens up, we may all get a bit noisy .

Gee, I step away from the computer for a weekend and you post page after page of updates. Goodness! I'm finally up to date. Nice to see some new additions to the FE list! I should get busy making your gifts.

I'm happy we have a few running buddies on the forum!! Jaymepops, JRandAJsMom, Boomerang4, bookite, JohnPA - you are awesome! We'll have to arrange some running times. I'm a 5:30 AM type person, running before breakfast. I understand if some of you aren't so keen at that hour. Even if we set a daily run time before we all leave that would be great. (We leave on 09 May.) I'm voting for early AM on all sea days - not sure if there would be time on port days.

Don't worry about being slower than other runners - if you're out running/jogging, you're going faster than 97% of the people on the ship! Someone already described the Castaway Cay 5K - certainly not an official race, but the view is nice, you don't get dizzy from running in circles, and you have a sense of achievement afterwards. I think the 5k run/jog/walk is usually done shortly after docking - time and location should be in the Navigator.

The Canadian Death Race (www.canadiandeathrace.com) is 125 km in the mountains and you have 24 hours to complete it all. There are 5 legs, and we're doing it with a team of 5 ladies, each doing one leg. Leg 2 is the one I've been graciously given (ha!) and it's 27 km with two sizeable mountain peaks (over 6000 ft elevation change). I'm hoping to be done my leg in 4-5 hours. Yikes!

I dream of the day I run an official runDisney race! In the meantime, I'm still nursing my toes from a recent half marathon in ankle-deep snow and looking forward to a 10-miler in April.

Cat update - The cat with the eye infection was adopted less than a month ago and we had to return him to the humane society for medical evaluation and further treatment. (It's a clause in the adoption documents for illnesses in the first 30 days.) I've been in tears since he was admitted and hope he will be home with us again really soon! I'd rather pay the vet bills and keep him at home. All I want for my birthday is my kitty back! One of our older cats managed to catch the pink eye infection too, so we're treating her with the same meds and crossing fingers again. What a weekend!
Edited to add: Tinsle is back at home with us, along with 4 different medications... Turns out it was an upper respiratory infection combined with pink eye. Poor little guy. He should be better in a week. :)

Right, long post... I can't wait for the cruise! Less than 60 days until we leave! Off to phone Mythos (Universal) and make our dining reservations. :) Have a wonderful week, everyone!

Haha-- You might find a straggler wandering down your hallway from the other side of deck 2! :rolleyes1

Wow! That sounds like quite a race!!! I'll be lucky if I can handle the 5K... I might just give into laziness by that point in the week... If there are others pulling along to keep me accountable, maybe that will keep me in check though! I'm getting to the " if I lose a few extra pounds before we go, I can afford to gain them back" frame of mind :)

We've also booked our pre cruise accom and will be going to WWOHP. Went there last year, it was amazing, I'm sure your boys will love it. Elaine:hippie:

Glad to hear that Flight of the Hippogriff isn't too bad. I might be able to talk them into it then. As for the Dragon Challenge, it sounds like it's going to be me and the babysitter! I'm glad she's meeting us there, haha :) I heard that the queueing is pretty cool-- isn't that the one you can't use the resort fast passes on anyway? Hoping I can get them on that too. They'll just be excited to walk down the streets, hit Ollivander's, Honeduke's and Three Broomsticks for some butterbeer! And since we're staying on property, Mommy will be having a real one :)

Great job on the FE spreadsheet!
I would like to mention a request that was made earlier, could people who have not done so add gender to the names? Especially for the kids, I could guess but you never know I might think there is a male name and it could be a female.
I've had a lot of issues with that and mail since my name is Chris - getting mail addressed to Mr. Chris ... is interesting, :rotfl: could be either gender but a lot of people assume male when they see Chris.
Thanks!!!

Great picture Bryan!

Thanks! We stayed on-site at Royal Pacific, so we were able to take advantage of early entry to WWOHP. We spent most of that time taking pictures & checking out the shops without waiting in line.:lmao: Can you believe it!? Lines just to get into the shops:scared1: Universal hit a goldmine with this one:rotfl2:

Even if you cant get them to go on the ride, there is a separate line just to walk through the castle. Its also a good way to take pictures without slowing down the line:thumbsup2
You should check out the Universal Studios board here on Dis - lots of good tips & friendly folks!

5:30am sounds really early....normally everyone knows to not even look at me until around 9am and 3 cups of coffee...although magically on vacation, somehow that rule seems to not apply. Of course during training times, it gets so hot down here that we have to start our runs at 3am....prompty followed by showers then back to bed...... I think I will be able to meet you that early on deck, but I am going to hang back on total commitment to that.....I'll try my best...lol how's that:rolleyes1 I know, I know, not much help. Past experience has usually put me on deck running at that time, so chances are good!

I don't think anyone should be worried about run times. If you are out there and enjoying, who cares?! Finished dead last is always better than did not finish!

I agree with you about not being on all weekend and having to catch up! We had Opening Day baseball this weekend for little league. Of course that ment tournaments. Unfortunately (I know I am such a bad Mom!) the boys teams are good and kept winning! So.... we had a LOT of baseball this weekend. I'm still exhaused from running back and forth between the two fields, the High School field and the place for pictures, twice.....sheesh, glad that's done!:worship:

Sorry to hear about both of your kitties! I hope you have the one back home soon, and the other gets better soon. Thankfully, we ran out of drops....:rolleyes1

I'm getting so excited, I can't seem to get enough information about our cruise, or I am starting to really feel like I am missing stuff.....Any good ideas, tips, suggestions etc...throw 'em this way...I'll check them out!!! Can't wait to see you all so VERY soon!!!! party:
