**Fantasy Becomes Reality** Group--5/19/2012 (INDEX/ROLE CALL, PAGE 1--ENTRY 1)

In order to participate in the AllEars group events you would have to book your cruise thru their sponsored travel agent. I already had this cruise booked while onboard the DREAM, so I just faxed DCL with permission to transfer my booking to their travel agent. You will need a wristband or invitation to attend any of their private events. They are a fun group.

Hey all! I can't believe I missed the 100 day mark, but it's been crazy as usual around here! We had to put our Princess Puppy to sleep that day, so it was not so fun around here... Slowly getting better though as we realize that she is in a much happier place.

:sad1:Very sorry to hear this - we will keep you in our prayers.

We have two spoiled French Bulldog pups, and I know my wife & I will be inconsolable when that time comes.

Good morning all. We are on B2B cruises with the one prior to this (don't envy us too much, my husband and I are posted to different countries, this is a splashout for us as kind of a reunion with each other and the grands). Anyway, booking for the prior cruise opened up at 0600 European time this morning. I thought you guys might be interested in how things were shaking out for the Silver members booking on that cruise.

We could not get a Palo brunch (I've never been to one!), but easily got both Remy on a Sea and semiformal night and Palo. There was availability in Palo on every night I looked at. We were able to book all the excursions we were looking for.

The cabanas were all booked.

Spa had lots of availability even on sea days.

We are traveling on this cruise with two family members in their 80's and 90's and were thinking of booking a cabana, but now I'm not too hopeful. Would any Gold or Platinum members be able to see if those are all booked for our cruise yet?

Thanks guys. Nearly at the 90-day mark!!!!:yay::yay:

We could not get a Palo brunch

Wow! This will be our 3rd Disney cruise, and I don't remember ever not being able to book a Palo Brunch. :confused3

Has the secret gotten out?! :lovestruc

I'm sure you know that after boarding, you can go to a place where people request dining changes etc., and have a fair chance of getting it or waitlist, but may not be quite the timing you desire. (We just changed from DCL transfer to private transfer WDW to port... so so glad now as the former meant arrival at 1:30; and now we arrive by noon, hopefully in time to get the brunch).

On the cabana, not sure how often, but I've heard people will check daily and sometimes a cabana will open up.

Thanks again Boomerang4 for the very helpful post. :yay:

Friends:
In reviewing the roll call, just noticed something. Why is show time listed? I thought that if you had early (main) dining, you saw show at 8pm. And if you had late dining, you saw the shows at 6pm.
Can someone help me understand this? :confused3

Glad to hear an update from DisDaddy (Tony) as I was feeling lost and not sure I had given my info correctly as I was not showing on the roll call lists...

So, just back from my 3-night Disney Dream cruise, where DH & I did ABSOLUTELY NOTHING!! (well, except eat & go to the shows!). A most relaxing time was had by all! I read 3 books! Starting my new job orientation on Mon so R&R was our only planned activity this time.

Glad also to see a few people posted that they are doing this trip w/ the AllEars group - I was thinking that we were the only ones, as I had not seen any postings about that. Their "special group events" have not been posted yet, so we just went ahead and made the reservations we really wanted to do, and hope we don't miss too much of the FUN!

Doing the double-digit countdown :cheer2: for this trip with all of you...see you real soon!

I think when the Dream originally sailed there were three show times. And since this group has been going strong for a LONG time, it was probably assumed that the Fantasy would do the same (someone correct me if needed). I believe they were intitially trying to get an understanding of crowding do to the larger capacacity. But since then, the Dream has settled in to 2 shows and I think it is assumed that the Fantasy will do the same.

So at this point, show time is probably not needed as it would be assumed if you have early dining you will be at the late show and vice versa.

I wanted to do the allears group but they werent giving obc so I booked my cruise through another ta and took the sweet obc instead. I wish we could still participate in some of the stuff though.

It's getting close now. Can't wait.

It's a group cruise that allears.net put together. They have some special group activites for their group. We thought we'd give it a try since this was our first cruise with Disney.

Ah - ok. I think Chasity and Gus also booked through them. Sounds like a fun group!

BTW, I ordered my stay certificate yesterday morning and FedEx delivered it this morning. I couldn't believe it came that fast! Now we just have to wait for May 18th!

Wow - that was fast! Need to order mine. Will do that this week. :goodvibes

100 days! 100 days! 100 days! Hey everyone only 100 days.:flower3::cheer2::woohoo::woohoo::woohoo::woohoo::woohoo::woohoo:

:cool1::cool1::cool1::cool1::cool1:

Mati---thanks for the concern.....I'm fine, just handling a lot both at work and at home. Things have been very crazy and hectic. In addition to dealing with our trip, we are organizing everything for our large group! We don't have as many traveling with us, but I think we are at 14 adults and 4 kids under 8. An undertaking regardless.

Glad to hear all is good! I can understand the craziness! It is just the three of us and I am stressed with the details! :confused3

We are renting a 6 bedroom vacation home for Wed thru Sat morning before the cruise. Private pool. And for less than $150/day. One day at MK, and one day at Typhoon Lagoon.

Considering a day at TL. We have never been there. Is it crazy for me to think I can handle the kids there alone?

Happy to hear Sabrina's awesome news!

Thanks! We go back on the 26th to pick up her braces. After that, we should be set with treatment for at least the next three months. :)

Also, Susan and I heading to bed earlier these days....so no more late or middle of the night posts!!! Have ya noticed?????

Good for you!!!!!

Am very sorry for your loss. That is so sad.

Port Adventure question: Does anyone know of a for-sure modest beach trip that would be appropriate for the kids? I'm not sure I'm ready for my 7 and 9 year olds to experience the French side of life :) We really wanted to do the Sea World Explorer glass bottom boat, but even the beach that visited sounded a little questionable. Maybe we'll just shop, do lunch and go back to play on the empty boat :) I'm of the "as long as I'm in the sun, I don't care where I am" frame of mind :)

I wouldn't worry too much about the beach. Unless it is a nude beach only, I would be surprised if you really see that much. We were in Barcelona last summer and the beach is clothing optional. Yes, we saw a few topless women and a few men a la natural but in general, was not that common. I am guessing the kids won't really pay attention. :goodvibes

Hope everyone is surviving the winter snow if you're up here. We only got a couple of inches, but they're getting hammered just north and south of us. Stay warm everyone!!!!

It got cold her in Texas this weekend -- even had a bit of sleet yesterday! :scared1: Thankfully, should be back in the 70s later this week. :)

We could not get a Palo brunch (I've never been to one!), but easily got both Remy on a Sea and semiformal night and Palo. There was availability in Palo on every night I looked at. We were able to book all the excursions we were looking for.

I know Amanda booked for our cruise last week (she is gold) and the Palo tea is already sold out and they may not be adding any more. I think everything else was still open. Surprising on the brunch on the first cruise you tried! :scared1:

Originally we thought there would be a choice in show times. Since then they have backed out of that and there are only two showtimes, dining at 5:45 with 8pm show and then the dining at 8 with 6pm show.

Good luck today at your new job orientation. :goodvibes

Ok, back to work. Happy Monday everyone!

So, made our advanced "adult dining" reservations last night at midnight! One Palo dinner, one Palo brunch, one Palo High Tea!! We spent so much extra when we dined in Remy on the Disney Dream over New Years, so we are going to wait on that one (altho it was quite fabulous!). Looking forward to meeting everyone and to a great cruise!

Sure wish I knew how to post all those cute pictures and banners everyone has!

There is a tutorial that is really easy to create the banners, if I can just remember where. I did this about a year ago - at least it was last spring.
This might be a place to start http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1010690
Sorry I just can't remember, if I do I'll post again. Good luck!

Is it time to cruise yet? ;)

Welcome!!! I strolled through your Flickr page and WOW!

Glad to have you onboard!

Thank you! :) I haven't been in the photography mood lately but hope to pick it back up again on this cruise in May!

And can we say 96 days, ya'll????

Mati----sure you should take the kids to Typhoon Lagoon! It will be three kids (because we all become kids in the disney confines, right?) having a blast!!! We did Blizzard Beach on our last go around, and we are psyched to return back to Typhoon Lagoon this time!

RE: Disney Dream
Question: Glad you had fun! Any thoughts on the cruise? Were the crowds out of control?
My Answer: The ship felt more crowded than in January (right after the Costa disaster, I wonder if people canceled as we saw lots of empty tables at dinner in Jan)...people did complain about long lines for Aqua Duck. We noticed that the theater filled up pretty quickly also. They did add a matinee on the 3rd night for Disney's Believe (their best show, IMHO). We opted to stay on board at Castaway Cay (crummy weather and we had been there several times) - however, it is worth leaving the ship for the BBQ lunch, as lunch in Cabanas was nothing remarkable...lesson learned!

Question: three books! Anything good?
My Answer: "Cutting for Stone" - excellent fiction book about doctors in Ethiopia (my bookclub is discussing this week)
Also read Tami Hoag's new book, "Down the Darkest Road" and Patterson's "Private" which is the first in a series about people in a security agency - really liked that one! Love my Kindle Touch!

Seriously hoping that the new Earth Day movie about Chimpanzees will be showing when we sail on this Disney Fantasy cruise...saw both Oceans in 2010 and African Cats in 2011 on cruises!

Comment: Good luck today at your new job orientation. :goodvibes
My Response: TY:) DH says if I work more, I can go on more vacations :laundy:

Hey group! Made final payment this weekend so I am ready for check in and excursions on March 5.

I am also booked through the all-ears group - hope they have some good events scheduled.

I have all of my gifts for FE, just need to prepare the bags. I will be ready for these 2 weeks when they get here - my boss has a lot of projects planned plus we are preparing for a financial audit over the summer.

I hope everyone is doing well. Enjoy folks and we'll all be meeting soon.
