Must do's for a first-timer: Take the ship tour, usually offered usually right after you board. Be sure to dine in all 3 of the rotational restaurants so that you see all of the differences (not as hard to do on a 7-night). Go on the Aqua-duck water coaster at least once! Play the interactive game around the ship (not just for kids!). A dinner at Palo (the lower priced restaurant that you pay extra for) is nice if you can get a reservation - they fill up fast. High tea or brunch in Palo also book up in advance, but if you can get in, they are nice to do as well. As to on-shore excursions, if we have never been to a locale before, we generally like to do one of the overall tours that shows you the place, but that is personal preference. You may prefer beaches or water sports or adventures. I do recommend booking tours through the ship even though they cost more, due to having seen ships sail away from ports without passengers that did not make it back from a non-sanctioned tour.
