**Fantasy Becomes Reality** Group--5/19/2012 (INDEX/ROLE CALL, PAGE 1--ENTRY 1)

Must do's for a first-timer: Take the ship tour, usually offered usually right after you board. Be sure to dine in all 3 of the rotational restaurants so that you see all of the differences (not as hard to do on a 7-night). Go on the Aqua-duck water coaster at least once! Play the interactive game around the ship (not just for kids!). A dinner at Palo (the lower priced restaurant that you pay extra for) is nice if you can get a reservation - they fill up fast. High tea or brunch in Palo also book up in advance, but if you can get in, they are nice to do as well. As to on-shore excursions, if we have never been to a locale before, we generally like to do one of the overall tours that shows you the place, but that is personal preference. You may prefer beaches or water sports or adventures. I do recommend booking tours through the ship even though they cost more, due to having seen ships sail away from ports without passengers that did not make it back from a non-sanctioned tour.

Surgery is Thursday morning... Surgery itself is simple and should go without a hitch, it's just those pesky drugs... it's a good thing I never got into any of that kind of stuff-- I'm sure I would have been interesting at parties, lol ;):

Jen, How are you doing? All go well? Update us when you get a chance!

ON BOARD BOOKING

WE just got off the dream and this time we booked ahead, we get the 200 on board credit plus 10% off the cruise price on disneys sight. So for the cabins we booked we got 450 total savings, the higher price cabins the more you save, our cabin was bout 2,000 so 10 % + 200 OBC. if you richer cruisers take a 6,000 cabin the 10 % savings, deps

GREAT CRUISE 4 day dream was still GREAT really like the sea day after C C to pack relax before returning to the real world.

Surgery itself went well yesterday but the anesthesia wreaked havoc so I'm stuck in the hospital until the organs that missed the "wake up" memo get functioning again. Hoping to go home tomorrow :) Thank you for thinking of me!

Pleased to hear your op went OK, even though the drugs have caused you problems again. I'm sure you well be in the best of health and ready to have a great time on the cruise. All the best.:thumbsup2

Thank you :) Numbers are much better today so I should get home today... Fingers crossed!

On a side note, all the nurses keep asking me about the DCL Passporter I have sitting on my tray... Then we all start talking about the cruise :) Love this floor :)

So, made our advanced "adult dining" reservations last night at midnight! One Palo dinner, one Palo brunch, one Palo High Tea!! We spent so much extra when we dined in Remy on the Disney Dream over New Years, so we are going to wait on that one (altho it was quite fabulous!). Looking forward to meeting everyone and to a great cruise!

Hooray! I can't wait until the 90 day window.

did you happen to bump into any days that were full already for Palo brunch and/or dinner?? I know very unlikely at 105 days, but thought I would ask.

Hey, for those of you booking at 75 days, I will be sure to post how full Palo looks at 90 days.

DH says that nothing seemed to be booked full for Palo at this point. Good luck to all who plan to book!

Hello all! It's been a looong time since I have been on the boards. This past year was extremely crazy, especially adjusting to life with a new baby. As a result I am just now getting around to really planning the cruise.

I've also not been able to keep up with everyone posts, but I'm sure you all have been having a blast talking and planning the cruise. As a result of time contraints and being super busy my family and I will be withdrawing from the FE exchange.

We will still be on the cruise but I'm afraid I was trying to bite off more than I could chew with all my planning. It wouldn't have been a problem at all if it was just DH and I, but I think my hands are going to be full with a 16 month old on the cruise, lol! I'm soo looking forward to vacation. :thumbsup2

I watched the float out ceremony today and I can't wait to see more pictures from our beautiful ship.

Hi Lynsey, could you just let me know if this will be your beautiful daughter's first Disney Cruise, for her FE gift.

Thanks, Elaine. princess::flower3:

Hello All - been awhile since I posted and I am anxious to get back into planning mode. I have several updates...

1. Please add our family to the FE list.

2. Please update our kids ages on the roll call list - Emma (15, will turn 16 on cruise), Madeline (14), Leila (8, will turn 9 on cruise)

3. If no one else has jumped on it - I will look in to the rubber bracelets.

102 days - we are anxiously awaiting our 90 day mark to book Remy and start online checkin! Still have to work on flights.

Hope you all are doing well - look forward to hopefully bumping into some of you on the ship!!

Yes! Our oldest and youngest share a birthday on May 24th - can you believe it? It's a pretty special day in our house!

Jen - read the update over the weekend but couldn't get the connection to work! That is GREAT news. Hope you are home and resting safe and sound!!! and yes, time to really get serious about the cruise! The 90 day mark is coming fast and still wondering about excursions! :scared1:

Nice! How was Remy? Worth the $75?

Welcome! We are neighbors - ok, well sort of if you count being an hour away a neighbor ;). 30 is a big anniversary! Congratulations!

That is pretty cool! Should make for a very special cruise!

Wow, so much activity.. Welcome to the new people and well wishes to everyone else. I finished our very first Fish Extender yesterday - a Winnie the Pooh theme - fun! And now, I'll be starting on the FE presents. Have we set a cut-off date for the FE list yet? I have included a few extras of everything in case we get new people, and am wondering when a typical cut-off date would be? 60 days?

:dance3:Hi Everyone! Quick update for those of you following, Sabrina is doing really well now. My DH flew her up to Philadelphia to visit the Shriner's there and she had a FABULOUS check up! :thumbsup2 She does NOT need additional surgery on her back but will wear a brace when she is at home (not school). I won't make her wear it on the cruise except at night. :goodvibes

anyways, I feel like a huge weight is off of my shoulders and I can focus on this cruise. :dance3: 90 days is creeping up fast!!!!

Has anyone tried the Hyatt stay certificate? Looking into that today....

Someone asked about Remy...When we did Remy on the Disney Dream recently, it was very nice and actually cost us quite a bit more than the $75 per person as we went "all the way", and did the chef's wine and dinner pairings. It was great food, very elegant, fabulous service, very quiet (hardly anyone was there). However, for our $$, we can do a comparable dinner at The Flying Fish or some of the other special dining offerings at WDW for less money. Remember that the $75 does not include alcohol. In the future, I would reserve it for a special occasion. We enjoyed Palo just as much for less!

Meanwhile, I just finished packing for our 3-night Disney Dream trip this weekend and packed a carry-on and a full suitcase with 6 pairs of shoes!! I wonder how many more I will need for this 7-night trip? (most likely, will pack almost the same with a couple of extra nice outfits for dinners). Generally bring 2 suitcases per person (since we live in FL & can drive to the cruise port, we luckily don't have to worry about airline fees).
