OK, I think I have all updates completed. Please let me know if I've missed anything. I've added a SLEW of recommendations regarding the name of the group.

So I'd like some input....

I've seen some very unique and awesome first names that may not necessarily indicate gender, or names that might be ambiguous. Thus far, I haven't indicated DS (Disney Son) or DD (Disney Daughter), or for that matter DM (Mom), DDd (Dad), DH (Husband), DW (Wife), DGS (Grandson), DGD (Granddaughter), etc. So my question is....

....for the purpose of the 'fish extenders', is there value to adding this information? Do we add it for everyone, or only if you want someone in your traveling group to be identified? Input....I beg of you!!!

I know I’ve been quiet – but I’ve been keeping up with the meet board. Recently I changed jobs, and have been busy, busy, busy! I used to work as a Municipal Prosecutor, but budget issues & pay cuts prompted me to look elsewhere. I recently took a job at a private firm that practices family law. So although my prosecution experience got me extremely comfortable in the court room, I’m stressing out trying to learn a completely new area of law.

New Cruisers!!

We recently convinced my in-laws to join us on our cruise! They are not big internet people, so I will need to check with them if they would like/be willing to share their info on our board. I haven’t even gotten around to asking them for their room & reservation info so we can link our ressies!!!


Congrats to LivingtheWDWdream!!! If I remember correctly, you went “back” to school? I did the same thing when I was 26. I used to tell people – “I’m going to be four years older either way. I can be four years older without a degree or four years older with a degree” Then I liked it so much I went on to law school – HAHAHAHA!!!! So, good luck, and keep up the hard work!

First off, Congrats on your new job! I understand learning new things and the hard work and such that goes into it I'm sure you will do great!

Second, welcome to your inlaws hopefully they will have a great cruise and get hooked!

Lastly, Thank you very much! Yes I went back to school Summer of 2010. Because I had so many classes already completed before going back I only needed 3 semesters to complete my AA of General Studies. But the last few classes I had were hard ones!! I'm going to be so happy come August 2nd!!!
But then comes the hard part August 25th when I start at UCF to get my degree in Exceptional Student Education (Education for Special Needs) that will take me about 2.5 years hopefully to complete.

i am SO sorry if you thought i was being bratty or something. i was AGREEING with what you said. and my "if you don't want my input" was not only tongue in cheek but not even aimed at you (or at least not you specifically) but rather at the group as a whole. there are a lot of people on this thread who have known each other for a long time and have a history and i'm not one of them. that was my attempt at humor about being a "newbie" and not one of the "cool" oldies. (i don't even know if you are a newbie or an oldie, lol!) so i apologize that the lack of inflection found when communicating via internet and the fact that you don't know me caused hurt feelings or bad vibes. i am a very open person but not one to be snarky, ever, i'm more likely to be making fun of myself than anything. so...friends?

to everyone, i do feel kinda like i crashed a slumber party that tho i was invited to it, i don't know anyone there. so as i said in my intro (w/ about 100 other things that i said) i'm looking forward to getting to know everyone better in the next (way too many) months before we meet irl on the ship.

oh...and just b/c i have an audience that will appreciate this...

We are going to be at WDW the end of june/begin of july and are staying on property for the first time EVER (for wdw or dl) dd is competing there (for gymnastics) and dh decided to just go all out. i know many of you don't consider anything but on property but we never have before and it's exciting!! wahoo!!

Just wanted to let you know, even though that exchange didn't involve me, that the people here are welcoming and keep trying to recruit new members! That must mean they want new people to show up, right? It's easy to feel like the new guy for a while in a big group. I'm pretty new, too, but I've been a part of big meets before and have found you just gotta jump in. Please keep chiming in. You aren't crashing anyone's slumber party; if you are, then every new person is crashing, and that means only the first person is a full-fledged member! Really, it's always nice to have new people, and we'll have a while to get to know each other, so that's good!

We are getting to be a pretty significant group, given that we are still over a year away. Even in the biggest of close-knit families, there can be a tiff, but the love still be there. That said, I don't think it was a tiff---maybe a little misunderstanding----but we all have great reasons to be excited about cruising together----something that many people never get to experience.....which leads me to.....

....there is nothing like staying at a Disney resort. You can never appreciate the truth of that statement until you stay at one. Cleanliness beyond belief. I look at the pools alone in the same capacity that I do the Disney Village Marketplace-----I could spend endless hours at them and feel like I am experiencing the Disney magic that I experience in the parks.

But NOTHING....NOTHING....NOTHING (and I loves me some Disney parks) beats a Disney cruise!!! It's a bonus to add in a few days before or after at the parks!!!!

I know that the Key Lime Pie-ers were very consciencious that they could be as a whole---an intimidating group! But they have been nothing short of awesome.

I have a huge family group going with us....I think we are up to----I lost count!!! Somewhere between 25 and 30, 10 staterooms, with more to add in the coming months....we, by numbers, can be intimidating! But actually, we are nothing short of awesome (hahahaha).

I spend a lot of time on this thread and make a lot of posts, sometimes feeling like I'm taking over...but I continue to do it because I am OBSESSED with this upcoming cruise. Really, I think I might need a Dis-intervention.

So, keep posting, keep offering suggestions, ideas, thoughts and tips...we will welcome everyone with open arms and have the best of times getting to know each other, both on the boards and on-board.

as for naming the group i liked the ones that had both EC and fantasy in the title. our MR dis name was Dis amigos tying in the mexican and the DIS and so i was trying to come up with something similar what about "EC Fantastic Floating Jump up" ? or "Fantastic Floating Jump up, EC style" then we have the location, the ship and some local flair all mixed in. ("jump up" is a caribbean term for a party that all are welcome to join in on the fun) the "EC style just reminds me of "jamaica style" lol! the floating i stole from another one of the suggestions, if that's too long then we can take it out.

speed figure's "Pirates of St. Eastern Fantasy" has my vote of those already listed, if the time to submit new entries is over.

Wow! So much to catch up with!!!! I just hopped on since I had a few minutes between school, work and soccer practices, lol... Can we move this cruise UP???

Also wanted to say I hope everyone in the group is staying safe in the weather... It's just crazy!!!! I think we have one or two in the areas around where the bad stuff is hitting, so I hope and pray everyone and everyone's families are well...

we are safe but are close enough to it that we have had school cancelled for two days. not sure how they are going to handle it w/ school ending soon since we are already over our allowed "snow days" due to a crazy winter before this crazy spring... we have tix to visit friends the day after school gets out so...tho i planned it for them not to miss the "last day" they may anyway bummer.

I wrote a very long note in response to my pen pals (Nicole from Austria asst server on the magic 2010) note to me asking how our Easter went. I told her of all the tornados that hit our town, how we were less than 5 miles from the one that hit at our airport, how my single nephew lost his2 cars and his friends car and had severe damage to his little house and he has no job because he was laid off on his job. My sisters friend lost everything her house and her car and how street after street looks so bad. After all that had happened on good Friday, I told her we were all truly blessed, beyond blessed! No one was dead, no one was seriously injured. We were a truly in a blessed state this Easter! With that being said my thoughts and my prayers go out to the good people in Alabama with what they are going through! My heart is saddened by their loss and send them up so many prayers for their strength in this very hard time. I have a new respect for mother nature and her power to take down what we build. God bless anyone in harms way or your loved ones.

She was asst. Server to Igor from Serbia. We are FB friends with both, but in frequent contact with Nicole since she no longer works for DCL. Igor is now on the Dream so less contact with him.
