**Fantasy Becomes Reality** Group--5/19/2012 (INDEX/ROLE CALL, PAGE 1--ENTRY 1)

I found a place online, not the cheapest, but if we opt for screen printing, we can have about 100 wristbands in lime green for a modest amount of money. If we go American-made, 24-hour turnaround with 2-day shipping, it's $1.37 per wristband. I don't think we need it quite that fast. Realistically, if I were to handle the shipping, I'd need everything to arrive within 2 weeks, and this company can (theoretically) deliver by Monday.

If we want to emboss or use eco-friendly recycled silicone, production time goes up to 1 week, but if we act soon, that's still within the acceptable time frame.

Looking at other places online, realistically, I think we can do this. With a firm bracelet count and a firm color decision, plus a decision on whether to go cheap or eco-friendly, we can make it work.
What are people willing to pay per wristband?

Hi Reimero,

Like Bookite, I think around $2 would be fine. I'm happy to go with the majority on colour, design etc. :thumbsup2 We would need three adult bands.

Elaine :flower3:

Oh, Jaimie, it's definitely not just you. I've recently retired, :thumbsup2 but it just seems to be more panic time on my hands, :scared1: rather than being more organised than before.

I'm also still interested in three bands if we go ahead. If it proves impossible, could we get something to stick on the plastic pockets on our lanyards to identify each other, it could even be something as simple as a sticky paper dot in a certain colour.

Well, I suppose we need to decide if we should go and book a taxi or park at the airport, and organise car hire for the first part of our holiday.

Take care, see you all soon,

Elaine :flower3:

Phew!! Thanks!!!

Can't wait to meet you Elaine!!! :woohoo:

Howdy neighbor!! I see you are also from Missouri. We are in the St. Charles area; where are you?

On our last Disney cruise, we met a couple that lived about 1.5 miles away. In further discussion we found that the wife worked at the same hospital as me.

Sing with me now.....it's a small, small world!!!

Susan

Well, howdy! We're in Jackson, mo. It's about 10 miles from cape girardeau which is about 2 hours south of st Louis!

I wasn't sure if we'd be game because we want to keep costs down, but these seem extremely, totally reasonable. Under $2 each is totally fine with the Becks. We would like two large and one child, please. Can we pay on the ship, or do you need the money in advance?

That sounds great! I'm a large, but I don't know if Pirategrrrl would be a medium or a child. She has very small wrists. I'm almost thinking Child would work best for her, but I'll try to get a measurement.

Well, the possible became the probable. Pam and I have to cancel the cruise. My 84 yr old father was diagnosed with terminal cancer a month ago and given a prognosis of about 6 months. I guess that's what said when the doctors don't have enough information for a better guess. Yesterday his doctor said one month. To make matters worse, Dad is the primary caregiver for his wife, our stepmother, who is in the middle to late stages of Alzheimer's Disease. We have our hands full now for the next couple of months.

I'm so sorry that we can't make the cruise because although we haven't met yet, I was looking forward to having a drink or some social time with you guys. I'm sure it's going to be a blast.

We made plans last year for the May 25th, 2013 Western Caribbean Cruise, so maybe we'll get to see some of you on that one.

Take care, see you around the boards . . .
John

Good morning all! :wave2:

This will be our first time in Palo and I was wandering about tipping. When did you guys tip or is tipping included in $20?
Grazyna

Will be our first time in Palo too so I looked this up earlier wondering how does one "value" the meal. I found on the DCL website, it says, "Palo: Gratuity included" So I guess that's partially what the $20 upcharge covers.

Somehow I missed your first post...
Welcome to the group!!! Look forward to getting excited with you and sailing with you!

No worries, Jaimie - I know these boards have been frantic and everyone's bizzy. Thx a mint for the welcome and looking fwd to sailing with y'all too! :cool1:

John, so sorry to hear of your family's situation. I'm relatively new to this thread, but of course recognize your screenname as someone who has made a lot of wonderful contributions. I'm sending pixie dust your family's way for peace and strength. Your family is lucky to have such a caring son and DIL. :grouphug:

cheers,
:)

This is fine with me too. We would like 2 large, 1 med., and 2 child. :flower3: Thank you so much for doing this!

I'm not familiar with wristband sizing and was wondering if the above lengths are the maximum size of the wrist or the actual size of the wristband?
I just want to make sure before I pick.
Thanks,

John,

We are so, so sorry to hear your bad news. You and your whole family are in our thoughts and prayers. Nothing we can say will help in this situation, so we are just sending our love.

Elaine, Bryan and Hannah

John,

That's heartbreaking news! Our hearts and prayers go out to you and your family who will be giving up your vacation to take care of loved ones. You have done so much and we are grateful for that. I hoe you will be able to keep your next cruise reservation and enjoy some more-than-well-deserved relaxing time. We wish you well and hope everything will work out.

I've also PM'd you.

Has anybody researched what the crowds should be like at the parks after the cruise? We are trying to figure out what to do on Saturday & Sunday before flying home on Monday. The kids kind of want to do Magic Kingdom, but we have been there several times & are planning on going in 2013. I am leaning towards spending those two days at Universal because we have never been there & likely our 2013 trip will be all Disney.

I am curious as to what to expect at the parks. It will be a holiday weekend, so I expect them to be busy. I also saw that Thunder Mountain will be closed, so we would miss out on that & I would think that would make the waits for Space & Splash Mountain even longer.
