Joni (DH) leaves for NYC today. We won't see him again for almost 2 weeks. Want to cry BUT knowing how close that puts us to our trip keeps the tears at bay . Hope to finish up packing the clothes today and will then pack in FE gifts and misc. tomorrow. Am still hopeful can spend tomorrow night finishing up magnets and our WDW plan.

I am sure this board will get very quiet but will check often in case anyone needs anything.

I understand my goal was to lose weight before this cruise too and it didn't happen at all. I'd pick the gown that is most versatile and at least bring one so if you feel like dressing up you can. I am about 1/4 of the way packed luckily that is most of my clothing. You'll get it all packed and you'll get to destress as soon as you get on the plane and take off!

OMG! Where did the time go??

You will be here before you know it. I wish we lived in Cocoa so that we could meet everyone for dinner Friday since it is my 30th Birthday but alas we are stuck here in a suburb of Orlando about 12 mins from Epcot instead.

Not sure where the time went feels like it was just yesterday we booked this cruise. Funny how you book it 18 or so months out and it feels like its forever and a day away and then you blink and its only 3 days away Holy Moly!

All I know is that Saturday I am going to be like Mario Andretti to get there and get this party started

Thanks for the safe driving wishes I hope the same for everyone else. I'm glad though I only have a 45-60 minute drive depending on which one of us is driving. Most likely I'll make my mother drive so that I can take photos and movies of our arrival to the terminal.

Safe travel wishes to your DH on his trip. I can tell you miss him but you'll have a huge family on board the ship who will keep you busy if you need them. I'll have a dry erase board on my door (8092) so either call and leave a message or leave one on the dry erase board and we can meet up or something if you want.

Super excited my birthday is Friday and got to open a gift early! Got a travel sized bottle of Wen Cleansing Conditioner to take with me on the cruise so I didn't have to buy shampoo and conditioner which would strip my hair for sure if I didn't use Wen.

That got packed right away and tonight we are going to Wal-Mart to do our last minute shopping for things we need for the cruise. I ordered the prescription refills I needed and the last one will hopefully be filled on Friday. Its a controlled substance so please send good thoughts that the state will allow it to be filled early since we will most definitely be out of the country and unable to fill it on the date it normally is filled on. Hate that last minute worry.

Then yesterday went to charge my batteries for our DSLR camera and realized that the charger is broken and so luckily Amazon offers a free trial of that prime service so we took the free trial and they will have a new one to us by tomorrow with any luck. $32 we hadn't planned on spending. At least lets hope that is the problem and its not the batteries that are broken. If that is the case then we will have carried on a big bulky camera that we can't use

First, thanks to all of you that sent prayers and thoughts our way. Just a quick rundown on our last two weeks. On Friday, April 13, Dad had a biopsy and discovered he had cancer. On Monday, the 16th, he was told he had 6 months, plus or minus a few months. On Thursday, the 26th that estimate was reduced to one month, and we decided to cancel our vacation.

Yesterday, the 29th, before I went to visit him, I re-read all the wishes and prayers. You can't imagine how touched I felt to be held in your thoughts. It felt like I had a whole group of people giving me a warm, firm hug. On the way over, I received a call from my sister saying the doctor just saw him and said that he only had a day or so left! Dad passed away this morning, just a few weeks after hearing the devastating news. He was surrounded by his wife and all four children and passed as peacefully as possible from this terrible disease.

So I asked my sisters if they thought it would be terrible if we still went on the cruise. The all said we of course should go, and one wanted to go with us. I hadn't canceled the cruise or DVC ressie - I was going to do that today.

Pam and I WILL be on the cruise. I certainly could use a few weeks to spend some time to just relax after this ordeal. We still have this week to get through, but we've shown each other that we're a strong family and can help each other through anything.

I hope there's a couple of bracelets left for us, but if not, no worries. We have to get back on our FE gifts to get them done.

(I could REALLY use a Konk Kooler about now). Again, thank you for all your thoughts, it really made a huge difference. You are a phenomenal bunch of people - I can't wait to meet you all!

Thanks for your thoughts and prayers, we're getting through this pretty well. We're now dealing with my stepmother's denial of her Alzheimer's diagnosis and her need for 24 hour care. Gonna be a fun year.

i'm here as well. my parents drove to TN from UT and arrived yesterday so i've been distracted. we are about 80% "gathered" but nothing is in bags yet. we leave tomorrow night for macon, ga then on to florida on friday. so glad we aren't getting up and leaving, i need all day to wrap my head around it AND maybe i'll be able to sleep a bit tonight, lol! we are in a 3 car caravan, should be fun!

just a quick heads up, there are 10 of us in our party, we will all have our bright green disbands on and i plan to carry the wristbands on so, if you see us, come get them if you want!

so excited and yet tho i should be getting ready, i'm frozen and sitting here, lol!

i DID get a pedi in today tho!

**for those who are Driving to the Port**

Please keep an eye out on the news Friday night and Saturday Morning. In today's rain storm a lightening strike has started a wild fire that has affected SR 528 between Route 1 and Route 95. This may have an affect on the road being open or closed. Please keep this in mind and be prepared for an alternate route.

Still working on laundry and packing here but we will be ready for Saturday Morning with our own alternate route in hand just in case!
