Yes this is are first cruise! I can't wait.

.
I have also just graduated high school and this is my gift.

Congratulations, what an amazing gift!

Hi! I just booked the cruise, whooo hooo! This is our 4th cruise with Disney. We are Patti and Carl, DS Taylor 23, his GF Christa 24, DD Perri 18. We are looking forward to relaxing, and visiting some lovely ports.

Welcome!

Welcome to all newcomers:goodvibes

I can't wait to get home from Dallas, TX this weekend so that I can focus on this cruise.

Right now I am sharing my hotel with Mary Kay consultants:rotfl:

The heat doesn't bother me. I'm eating too much. Lol
Oh no! That's not supposed to happen until we're cruisin' the Caribbean. Although we do have some good grub down here. ;)

Just checking in. My husband, son, and I will be on this cruise. It's not our first cruise, but it is our first DCL cruise.

What kind of classes are taught in the gym, and how do you sign up?

We booked Remy for the 6th night. I read that you shouldn't miss the first night at Animator's Palate. I figured we would have rotated there by the 6th night. Is the 6th night usually a casual or formal night?

Getting excited. We'll be doing a few days at WDW, a day at Cape Canaveral, and then the cruise.

Does the laundry get crowded? I don't want to have to pack 2 weeks worth of clothes.

I actually think that most of the exercise classes are Outside, though honestly, I haven't done one. I've seen photos of Goofy participating in aerobics, and felt quite bad for him. I also don't think you need to "sign up" for most fitness classes. Now, the sports simulator on the other hand - I'm told that's impossible to book. :confused3

Formal night is night 2. Pirate night is Jamaica - is that night 5? 6th night might be semi-formal. We aren't doing Remy, but are doing Palo on Pirate night. It's our 5th DCL, and while Pirate night is fun, I've seen the dinner show and don't mind skipping it. The only thing with Remy is that you may miss the evening entertainment, unless you have second seating and see the early show. I've read Remy dinners run 3+ hours. They sound amazing. If you aren't allergic - PLEASE try the fried tomato soup and tell me all about it, please??:worship:

As for laundry, I've never had much problem - with 2 suggestions. Maybe 3.:laundy: They get busy on sea days. They can get busy on days 3,4,5 as people are running out of clothes. I'm an early riser, so I usually do laundry at 6:30 am, go for a walk on deck and then move to the dryer. Caveat 2 - we last sailed two summers ago, and although the washers are HE, they were selling REGULAR detergent in the laundry room. It was 6:30 in the morning. I was NOT paying attention. The suds came bursting out of my washing machine. It was _I Love Lucy_ all over again. :happytv: :rotfl2:So, if you don't bring your own washing soap, be careful using their. Don't use the entire packet unless they are now selling HE detergent!

See ya REAL soon!:cheer2::wave2:

Welcome to the group! This is our first family cruise (I've been on two non-DCL cruises with my parents). Great questions! I was planning on trying one of the group classes out on the deck. Sounds like fun!

We booked the simulators, one for me and my husband to do golf. And one for all of us to try the other sports. I thought I saw some sessions still open for the non-sea days.

Thanks for the info. Jamaica is the 5th night, so we won't miss the Pirate show. We probably will miss the evening show. I think we'll be okay with it. Our son might be disappointed, but he might not even care. We have a reservation for 6:40pm, I guess that's the first seating. Our normal dinner seating is the first one.

The soup sounds delicious. I love tomatoes.

I think we'll do laundry pretty early in the cruise, because we'll have already been on vacation for about a week. We'll have to bring our own detergent, because my husband has skin allergies. But thanks for the warning.

I was hoping for some good classes to help burn off some of the cruise food. I usually like to do some very active yoga classes, pilates, or boot camp type classes. I suspect there won't be too many of those. Most people don't want to suffer on their vacation.

The wait staff in MDR dresses as pirates for pirate night, but the show doesn't really start until 9:45 or so and the fireworks are usually 10:30. It's LATE for little ones.pirate:

The soup picture I saw looked like a red sugar cube. It sounded AMAZING.:woohoo:

I do think you'll enjoy the Disney exercise classes, but I also think you are correct in your suspicion that they are maybe not as hard core as you might prefer.:confused3

Welcome! I'll be doing some early exercising as well on this cruise, so I may see you in the gym. We will be doing laundry too, as we are going to WDW the week before like you. Apparently there is also a laundry service on board that will do it for you, although there is no telling how much that would cost and whether they would use your special detergent.

Maybe our group should do a laundry room meet-up! LOL.

That's not a bad idea. We could even help keep an eye on each other's stuff. I really didn't want to have to stay in the laundry room for our whole washing; however, maybe theft isn't an issue. The only other time that I do laundry outside my house is at laundromats on vacation; they are usually away from where I'm staying, so I don't feel comfortable leaving our clothes by themselves.

Where are you staying at WDW? We're going to be at Poly:worried:Normally, I would be thrilled, but the construction has got me bummed.

Are you in this meet group? You've signed up for FE group 3. Your info is incomplete. We need a cabin number, if you aren't gty. I'm hoping gty will be in soon.. .

Thanks!

I didn't realize we had some info missing! I filled in everything, including our stateroom number today. CooperFamily can't wait! 18 days!

Updated this today. Sorry, didn't realize I wasn't subscribed to the thread and also that I never filled in the cabin number. YES!!! We are coming and I updated the form. See you there!!1
