Fantasy 7-Night Western Caribbean Cruise 8/2/14 - 8/9/14

Hi Everyone!
We just booked this cruise with my parents and we are so excited. :cloud9: My family has never been to the Caribbean and I'm addicted to all things Disney. I'm still trying to finish my trip report from our May WDW trip. I'm definitely interested in the Fish Extender.

We will be in cabins on the 6th floor. One will be for my parents and one for myself, DH, DS (9) and DD (7) at the time of the cruise. I've never Disney cruised before, so I can use any advice you veterans have.

It's our first family cruise, too. I went on the Big Red Boat a long time ago as a kid and I can't wait!

Welcome to the group:)

Hello Everyone,

Anyone interested in leading the FE group? It has been my experience that we will need a strong coordinator to set the guidelines and also to enforce the deadlines set by the group because we will always get new people to book the cruise sometimes weeks before the sail date and want to participate.

Someone else could also coordinator a group meet on the ship along with an activity that everyone could participate:thumbsup2

Any takers:confused3

My DW made 75 fruit baskets as Christmas gifts:scared1: I never want to see another piece of fruit until the cruise:rotfl:

Thanks!

Also thanks "AliceIn" for letting me know that I should have asked for a two room discount at MCO Hyatt:thumbsup2

I called back twice until they gave me the family discount rate:cool1:

Excellent! I have learned so much on these boards that it feels good when I'm able to help somebody else.

This is our first cruise as a family and the DIS has been fantastic for us.

Question about Fish Extenders: do you personalize gifts for each person in a cabin, or give everybody the same thing?

I hope that everyone is safe that is being effected by last night's snow storm:thumbsup2

We just got back home last night. We were in NJ visiting my mother, and then we drove across to the Chicago burbs. We left around noon on Thursday, and then had snow, snow, snow all the way from the Poconos until we stopped for the night in Youngstown, OH. My mom is in Flemington, NJ, and she got about 8 inches of snow. It snowed here while we were gone, so need to get out there today to clear off about 6 inches of 3 day old snow off the driveway. It's going to go down to -20 by Monday (and that's WITHOUT wind chill).

I'm sitting here dreaming about our first cruise! Warm breezes, soothing calm waters on the beach . . . . AHHHHHHH!

On another note. I've got loads of questions as this is our first cruise. My kids will be 8, 10, and 13 when we cruise this summer. The 8 and 10 year old will be together in the Oceaneer Club. My 13 year old will go to Vibe. Does the 13 year old get a band and need to be signed in, or will he have run of the ship?

13 year olds do not get bands. Once they are registered, they can pretty much come and go from vibe as they please:rolleyes2

I'm glad you got home safely:thumbsup2 From Philly, that's a 14 hour trip. I come to Chicago often but never in the winter:scared1:
