Looking to book (2) adjoining "ocean stateroom with verandah" for 2022 on the Fantasy and wondering if there is a way to open up/connect the verandah's.

Ok, thanks....we were thinking Deck 9, mid-ship and Starboard preferred but already not many available that meet that criteria for April 16-23, 2022!!! Do you think they only release a certain number of rooms at a time - or is it possible tons of people have already booked?

Yes, but not all verandahs. Someone else may know more, but I think the deck 10 ones don't open.
Sort of. SOME of the deck 10 veranda dividers don't open. Generally it's like very third one due to the superstructure of the ship.

Beyond that, AFAIK, all other verandah dividers (other decks) do open.

OP, be aware that "open" doesn't mean the whole wall opens, it's only a small doorway over to the next verandah.

You do know that if you're looking on the website, they only post about 8 available rooms at a time for you to choose. The others MAY be available and you (or your TA) can call to book them.

We have had adjoining balcony cabins on every ship but the Fantasy and have had no problem.
