I have not personally experienced this show despite my many trips to WDW. My family is determined to see it on our next trip and I have a few questions for those veterans of the show.

1) how much time should I arrive in advance of the show..really. I have heard from 2 hours to 30 minutes.

2) is the show too intense for a 3 year old? Would my DD be traumatized if she sat through it?

3) how long does it last.

Thanks for any info you can offer.

:D

1. Your arrival time depends on a couple of factors. The time of year you are attending and whether the show will be presented once or twice will determine the size of the crowds. If you are attending during a very crowded time, you probably need to arrive at least 45 minutes to an hour early to get a seat. If the show is presented twice, the second show is always less crowded, so you could probably show up 30 minutes in advance of the later show and get a seat. The other factor is that you could do a Fantasmic Dinner Package that will get you reserved seats to the show. This will allow you, even at the most crowded times of the year, to show up around 20 minutes before the show and get a seat.

2. My DD4 was pretty scared by the show. It is pretty intense and they throw all of the villains Disney has ever created at you. It is loud throughout. If your DD3 has trouble at all with fireworks, forget it. If she is sensitive to noise, forget it. My DD4 had to have her eyes covered a couple of times b/c she was scared, but she was not "traumatized".

3. The show lasts about 25 minutes.

The park was so busy that they added another showing at 9PM so we did other attractions until about 40 minutes before the lat show.

We had great seats in the Mickey section up near the top and took turns holding our seats while we did a potty break as there is a nice restroom in the stadium.

I had never seen the show and it was one of the highlights of our trip! I think it is very well done and was a simply beautful sight to see! ::yes:: I would not sit near the front because of the water spray. :earseek:

You dont want to miss it! My 2 yr old didnt have a problem with it, although he did turn away at the bright flashes. He didnt handle the 3d movies and dark rides though. As with the other posters, how far in advance to get your seat depends on how many shows there are and what time of year it is. There was only one show in Feb. so we got our seats right after the parade (about an hour before). There are vendors selling food and toys so we grabbed dinner there and ate in our seats to pass the time. There is a dinner and show package, which weve used once. Nice concept-you eat then go to reserved seats...no waiting, but the seats are on the far right of the stage. I thought I missed some things by being that far over to the side. Also, dont sit too far to the front, especially if it is windy (you might get wet). Plus it gets a bit warm from the pyrotechnics! Enjoy it!

It's a wonderful show, full of lots of characters and great music in true Disney style. We really enjoyed it. I highly recommend the Fantasmic Dinner Package - we had great seats, uncrowded, and got to waltz in at 8:30 pm (for a 9 pm show) last June when the rest of the theater was jam packed with people that I'm sure had been there saving their seats for a long time. We figured we had to eat anyway, and it didn't cost extra for the package... a great deal in our opinion!

Pretty much everyone has covered your answers. The package is a plus and minus deal. Not everyone can handle the appet., dinner and dessert at 4:30.

My dd 2 1/2 slept through it the first time, 9pm can be late for some toddlers. She didn't have a problem with it at 3 and the older DD didn't have a problem at 4, 5, and 6. I think it all depends on the child and the moment (tired, cranky, hungry etc)

Have a wonderful trip!

Depends on when you go. I'd say 45-60 minutes is a good bet.

Only if she is scared of loud noises, villians and some explosions.
