Is the DL Fantasmic the same production as the one at DHS in WDW? We're planning our first DL trip in June and trying to decide if we should incorporate Fantasmic into our plans.

No. But you are the lucky user of a relatively new thread on this forum...and you should see Fantasmic at DL. But I would vote to see WOC over Fantasmic if you have to choose - especially if you have seen it at WDW. But there are some who would disagree. :)

Fantasmic! at DL blows away Hollywood Studios. The little tug boat they use at the end is just plain sad. The seating or lack of isn't so great but otherwise it is so much fun. The dragon is also amazing.

HEY HEY NEIGHBOR! Where in KC do you live???

You are going to have sooo much fun at DL!!

I have not seen the WDW version but love the DL version. I would rather see F than WOC but really have not given WOC a chance with proper viewing.

The main difference in my eyes is that DL has a Peter Pan sequence instead of the Pochohantas one at WDW. No seats at DL and no mountain. Worth it in both parks in my opinion.

Saw WOC twice my last trip. Wonderful show. Wasn't too fond of the organized chaos leading up to the show or the fact that its a long time standing but worth it nonetheless.

And the giant animatronic dragon at DL is AMAZING! Also, there's just something more magical about it being on the Rivers of America and incorporating the boats that run during the daytime. I am a huge fan of the show, can you tell? ;)

Thank you for the wonderful link - very much appreciated!!! I thought there were differences in the two productions but couldn't remember for sure. Now just trying to decide if we should do the reserved seating. Hmmm...:scratchin

Good to know that the productions are different. We've been following the Disboards for about four years - just never been brave enough to post until now. There's so much wonderful information here!! We're in the Lee's Summit area, how 'bout you? It truly is a small world!! :wave2:

We live at WDW and always make time for F! in DL. The reserved seating is great if you want a good view without waiting forever. But it looks like there are lots of tips here to not wait forever and not pay $59 per person. I'm doing mt DIS homework before my next trip! :goodvibes

New news on fireworks schedule:

"Remember...Dreams Come True" will be going on hiatus for the summer. Its last performance will be May 22. "Magical" will return for the summer on May 27.

In the Northland. It really is a small world. Can't wait to hear how you liked/loved DL. It is smaller so don't be shell shocked but it holds so much heart, nostalgia, and history. There are so many can't miss things to see. How many days are you going for? When are you planning on going this year? Are you planning on hitting any other SoCAl things?

Have seen DL show many times and saw the WDW version for my first time this last year. I feel that the WDW show doesn't even come close to comparing to DL. DL is so much better! Personally, I even prefer F over WOC.

We're still finalizing our plans for the middle of June. We're looking at 2-3 days at Disneyland/DCA (hopefully 3)! Any advice/recommendations about other SoCal attractions is greatly appreciated as this will be our very first trip. My daughter wants to go to a beach and the Hollywood Stars Walk of Fame. I have no perspective regarding the relation of things/travel time and need to do my research. I have always found the DisBoards to be a great resource!

I agree with both.

It doesn't help that it is miserable getting a decent place to view WOC if you have smaller kids. ( almost have to be on a rail )

We might have enjoyed it more if we didn't end up standing for about 1-2 hours.

My family is the same way, they have no interest in seeing WOC if they have to stand for a long period of time and they are in their teens and 20's and good shape. They have been pretty spoiled over the years so they have no interest, so they do or they don't.

Sounds like we'll have to do some strategic planning for the nighttime shows.:3dglasses
I better start doing more research...
