Fantasmic--When do line up?

My family and I are interested in seeing Fantasmic while we are at Disney. So far, I am unable to get a reservation for the dinner package. We are fine with lining up to see it but I have heard conflicting reports of how far ahead we need to be there. I thought it was 60-90 minutes but I just got off the phone with Disney and was told 3 hours. Is it really that long? I don't think I can convince the kids to wait that long. They are already not happy about over an hour.

Has anyone waited in line and if so how when did you arrive?

Hi,

Unfortunately since Disney cut back the number of showings per week, crowds have been extremely large. I would say that until and unless Disney goes back to 8-10 showings per week you can expect VERY long lines.

We were there in February during Presidents' week. The parks were all very crowded, but Disney added a second Fantasmic show on all the nights that they were planning to show it anyway (3 nights within a week). The second show was NOT full on either night we saw it. AND, we were able to walk right in one night, after everybody else had stood in line for however long.

Don't get discouraged, you may get to see it. See if there is a second show, and then work your schedule around that.

When and how do you find out if they have added another show? Is it determined at opening and is on the tip board of is it determined later in the day and you need to check back?

It really depends. Sometimes they will just add it a few hours before the park closes.

When we were there, the second show was scheduled and in the flyer they hand out.

They also list the show times on the board right by the entrance to fantasmic.
