Fantasmic WDW vs. Fantasmic DL

Actually the one at DL is better than WDW. I have not seen the DL one in person but you can see it at a website. I dont know the exact site, I think this MAY be it though.

www.visionfantastic.com

You can download the full DL version and watch it. the DL version is Peter Pan themed, including a huge Peter Pan pirate ship where they act out part of the movie.

I wish the WDW version was more like DL.

I noticed the difference too but I much perfer the WDW version. To each their own though.

The DL version is so far superior that it's not even funny. The WDW version has some really boring dead spots like the characters' faces going up in bubbles (what's up with that?). There's too many villians in the WDW version, and sorry Pocahontas, I like you, but Peter Pan rocks. Plus, unlike WDW, I can sit in the very front at DL and not get soaked, thank you very much.

Well unlike the poster above, I like the characters going up in bubbles part. I think the soundtrack at WDW is MUCH better. And unlike the poster above I like the setting more at WDW. Instead of just being in the park like at DL, I like the whole go in early and get a seat in the huge ampitheatre.

Actually both shows are just as good in terms of quality. They were made by the same people. I think the sole difference is character preference. Pocahontas is among my least favorite Disney characters. In fact, I'm much more of a "classic" guy myself. That is why I love the Peter Pan scene at DL. Also the huge pirate shipt at DL is a prop like none at WDW.

I have no issues with the Fantasmic show other than I wish every few years they'd throw little changes in since there are so many characters they can work with.

I was lucky...I had my 1st viewing of "F" in DL in July, seated @ the dessert buffet on Walt's balcony (after dinner @ Club 33). :goodvibes

Well....if you can imagine :
Hundreds of people, sitting on the cement walkway (no stadium or seating) and standing like packed sardines, in Frontierland @ WDW (which is a much larger area than DL). :crowded:
Then..viewing the waterway...and watching Fantasmic. The show was great..neither better or worse than WDW..IMHO.
The crowds...absolutely horrible :crazy2: @ "tiny" DL...then after the show the CM's lined up for traffic control......Wow..the mass exodus was unreal!! :scared:
I'll vote for space and take stadium seats @ WDW...anytime!!

Though...with age,comes wisdom and patience!!

If Im planning to take the "time" to see a wonderful show...I certainly am not rushing, pushing, shoving, beating the next guy to be the 1st on the bus or boat. I stay where I am, wait till most people leave, smell the roses!!
I surely do this after the WDW MK fireworks....gosh..if I didn't.. I wouldn't have known or seen the "Kiss Goodnight" from the castle!!

I couldn't find the download. This page is like a searh engine.

Another thing that makes DL's better--unlike WDW you can actually walk around the area where they stage Fantasmic during the day as it's on Tom Sawyer Island. It's really cool to see where the magic happens up close, plus see how they transform the area each evening that Fantasmic is shown. Also--Steamboat Willie? Give me the Mark Twain any day.

OK! FIRST OF ALL YOU DONT GET SOAKED! I've sat in front row many many times because we get PS for their Fantasmic! Package deals and second the bubble effects look really amazing if you've never seen it in real life shut up

What a minute...I'm really confused....are we discussing Fantasmic at MGM....if so, I don't remember a Pocahontas theme at all........I've seen it 3-4 times the most recent was last year...........someone help me please

The Pocahontas theme just refers to the scenes from Pocahontas - the Native Americans coming in on the boats, the men with the "dig" song as though they are preparing camp or something, Pocahontas and John Smith at the top of the mountain, the fight scene etc.

Okey, dokey, then...........cause I knew the last time I saw it the theme was Mickey's dream..........thanks for clearing that up

BATBkindagirl: When my kids say shut up I put them in time out. That wasn't a very nice or mature attitude, iceskatejen was merely stating her opinion, which I believe was what this thread was all about. My opinion is that I love them both but do prefer the show itself at Disneyland because of the Peter Pan ship. BUT, I enjoy WDW's more because of all of that nice seating. Since I have shelled out $250 twice for our family to see the Disneyland version from the balcony I must indeed like it. To each their own!

My goodness I got so worked up I double posted myself. Maybe I should shut up and go to bed.

I think I like the Peter Pan theme and the big duel on the ship at DL but I like the Auditorium at WDW. Actually paid $$ for a reserved seat at DL to enjoy the show without finding a space in the crowd. Liked both shows and we are doing Fantasmic Dinner package this time at WDW and plan DL in Jan and will probably do somthing to see it there to....I guess I like them both for different reasons....My DS 5 loves the Dragon.......DS 2.5 loves the Main Mouse.....pirate:   :wizard:
