We're going to DW in January with DD who will be 18 months. Anyone have any advice about taking her to Fantasmic? What should we expect? We don't have much experience with how she reacts to fireworks/loud noises and the sort, so I just wanted to know what we were getting into before we go. If its a little too much for little ones, I might just wait until next trip when she's a little older.

Any thoughts? Thanks :flower:

I have done Fantasmic several times with the kids at that age. I would take them , sit towards the back so the fire doesn't scare them but other than that it should be fine. If not you could still leave. Go to the other fireworks show to "practice" and get her use to the noise. She may surprise you and not mind the noise. Also my kids at that age have also fallen asleep during Fantasmic, who are we kidding my 4 yr old fell asleep during Wishes the other night!!

I agree. Try it and see. It's a very different show than Wishes, but the noise levels are probably what would freak her out the most at this age. Just sit towards the back for a quick getaway if you need it!

I saw many children afraid of the dragon and snake. I think if you sit on the very back row, you will be okay.

I took my 3.5 year old and 6 month old and also my sister's twin one year olds and they all did just fine... loved it in fact... 6 month old fell asleep!

I have taken my kids to it (2 and 4). It was loud for the little ones. Sit Back a ways is my advice. :earsgirl:

I would get seats near the top so if you need to exit, it'll be quick and easy

If she wont get cranky due to the late hour and have a BF (thats a baby fit in my house;))just sit in back, things wont be quite so scary, and you can get out of there in a jiff if you need to

We skipped it this past trip, not because of the noise, but the wait. Kevin and I would take turns entertaining Alyssa while one of us held down our parade spots, but we just didn't think we could keep her entertained in the Fantasmic theater area.

Our kids all loved it, but understood it was Mickey Magic. :)

They were, however, a little scared at some of the theater shows - Philharmagic freaked out my 5 year old and maybe the Muppets 3D...and It's Tough to Be A Bug scared the bejeezus out of me, as did Honey, I shrunk the audience.

But, Fantasmic is SOOO big - out on the island with a moat between you - that if you aren't in the first row (not likely anyway) you'll be fine.
