Fantasmic Thread!

Because thy make more money with larger parties. I almost wish they’d mix small parties at one table like WoC.
Agreed. As long as there is no penalty. If you are a party of 1 book 3 and then at check-in say 1. For meals one table is one check for the most part.

If I’m not mistaken all the tables that are part of the premium package are 4 tops.
We were testing for a party of 1, if you put 1 or 2 premium doesn't show, put 3 and it shows. Yes tables are usually 4 but I saw a table for 6 on my night.

I understand, I’m saying because the smallest table is likely a 4 top it won’t show reservations for a party less than 3.

Weird. We had the premium River belle package at the end of July and there were 2 of us and that’s what I entered when I made the reservation. I wonder when that changed.

I made a reservation for 1 for the premium for late August. I entered 1. This must have just changed.

Well, this is not good news. What if you only have one or two people in your party? Do you reserve for three and then tell them at check-in that you're willing to share a table? Why don't they just accept smaller parties and state up front that you might have to share a table? I don't want to lie and then get in trouble when we check in with fewer people.

Yes that is exactly what I did. I said the other person could not attend. The cast member was very nice. Disney makes the rules, I follow them but I need a reservation and I got it.

Yeah, but if their minimum is now three and only one person shows up, will they believe that two people couldn't make it? Plus, I wouldn't want to tie up a four-person table that could be shared with a party of three.

It does not really matter. You have the reservation. Disney is not allowing parties of 1 or 2 to book. It is not my problem. We are talking about getting a reservation for the premium F! package. I see what you are saying but it is not really applicable. These are the rules that Disney made - you work within those parameters. When I was there there were 3 solo people at tables. For the F! reservation - it is getting the table. Two of the solo diners were at tables at the rail. I was in the second row.

It is not a question of belief. People constantly change restauant and dining reservations. It is the nature of the business. You do not have to offer up a reason as a customer.

You have just as much right to be there as anyone else. You pay the same money as everyone else. This is a Disney issue. If I have the money to book and I like the food, I will book. If Disney put me at a 4 top, thats nothing to do with me. I dont care what anyone thinks. Disney can not charge for a no show, as the lead person turns up.

The "rule" Disney seems to be making is no groups less than 3.

I could unfortunately see Disney starting to charge for no shows within a party, not just the whole group. Or even have to pre-pay for the premium package. I think they do this for the WoC Dessert package.

You can book 1 person for the WofC Dessert party and you pay. You cannot book or choose 1 for the F! premium. They could charge $10 a person. I would pay it. What is 20 bucks if I get the table. And if I pay for 3 dinners Disney would take my money too. Disney has to be very careful with this. There are plenty of solo travelers and couples.

Which is why I don't understand why they aren't combining small groups at one table. Yes it could be a little awkward but it is better than just not allowing parties of 1 or 2 to book a table.

I know if I can not get a premium package I will have to skip Fantasmic. I simply can NOT sit on the ground or stand for an extended period of time.

Agreed. I dont understand Disney either. I will not sit. If they start making you pay when you reserce all of the F! packages will be pay when you book.
Combining people is sometimes not possible. I think Disney has 1 table 1 check. Also placement at the F! premium package tables is currently based on the time you book. If it was changed to a dessert party like WOC then combining tables would work no checks involved.

There is a seated option with the other dining packages. You can choose a regular dining package (BB, RBT, RDZ) and ask about seating when you check in to the viewing area. We have seen parties who cannot sit on the ground or stand for long periods be seated in the Harbor Galley dining area. There is limited seating, but it is available. Best to check in early if you need to view from that area.

That's encouraging news. Anyone else have experience with this?

Also, the RBT Premium packages are only for the first F! of the evening, right? Does the restaurant close before the second showing, and do they remove the chairs from the patio?

Yes the premium is for the 1st show. Yes the restaurant closes before the 2nd show. The area is closed off and you cannot get on the patio. The restaurant closes at 9.
