Fantasmic Thread!

That is so weird! We did the RDZ dining package on July 3rd and myself and my sons got a double order of rice and no black beans.

We loved the Peter Pan part! Definitely our favorite part of the whole show.
I was hoping I could order off the regular menu. Ive done it many times at Hungry Bear package.

It might depend on the CM you get and how crowded it is.

I grabbed these photos from Yelp.

There are two food stations in RdZ. If you walk straight, you will see this line/station for regular guests ordering from the regular menu. It is no longer straight in and straight out as the arrows on the floor indicate. There is normally a winding queue. To the left, you can see someone wearing a red shirt and red head covering. That is the side for the Fantasmic meals. There is a wall between the two with doors where staff can walk back and forth.

This is the Fantasmic side. It is an assembly line. You can see that CM have everything in front of them and, as each person orders, they quickly plate and tray the entrees. Just behind the man's head is the grill where they cook the asada. If you order from the regular menu, the CM need to go to the other side of the restaurant which would slow things down in both lines.

I'm not saying that it can't happen, but I wouldn't make the reservation assuming that it will happen.

Hungry Bear's kitchen was set up differently. There was basically one cooking/food prep line and several pick up stations.

I think Hungry Bear was a better setup for the grab and go Fantasmic option than RDZ. I originally assumed they would move it back once Hungry Bear reopens. I'm not so sure with the menu change to BBQ from burgers. Will be interesting to see what happens long term.

Don't get me wrong, I thought the food at RDZ was good. I'm just saying that burger/fries/sandwiches was kind of an easier grab and go type option than the more complicated meals at RDZ (which are quite good).

Sounds like both Fantasmic shows were canceled tonight. Social media is saying that it is due to a power outage in the area. Can anyone confirm?

Saw some other posts and looks like a area wide power problems. People on rides said they broke down. Saw post about Denny's and hotel out the front with no power

I left the parks around 5:15 and the light was out at the east shuttle entrance and we saw two firetrucks stop in the area after I got picked up.

I was at Disneyland on Saturday, and we didn't experience any power issues in the park. We rode Haunted Mansion and Pirates, and ate dinner at Blue Bayou, which are all located in the same area as the Fanstasmic show.
We did notice crews working on Tom Sawyer Island around 6:30-ish, but that's normal prep for Fantasmic!
I'm guessing that the crews realized something wasn't functioning properly, so the show was cancelled.
The evening announcement just stated that Fantasmic! was cancelled due to "circumstances beyond our control".
The fireworks went off without a problem, and that's what we really wanted to see that night :earsboy:

Hi I was wondering if/when the menus for the dining packages change, do they change annually or by season?

Scrolling down the reservations for October, at the bottom there is a Dine Event for Fantasmic listed as "On-the-Go Package at Hungry Bear Restaurant." Has that always been there?

I see that but nothing available for multiple dates

So I have 2 reservations for Fantasmic Dining

Sept 21 Rancho 2nd show
Sept 22 River Belle 2nd show NOT premium

I need to cancel one.........which should I keep?

Depends on what type of food you like, how much you want to spend, and what type of dining experience you want. The view of Fantastmic from both is similar.

I booked the RDZ lunch for the 9pm show. We are now thinking it would be better for us to see the 10:30 show instead, but those reservations are all sold out. When picking up food, has anyone been offered a choice of which show they want to see or do they automatically just give you tickets for the one you booked? I know I’ve been offered a choice before at Blue Bayou but that was a few years ago.

When is your trip? I've never tried it, but I would keep an eye on reservations for a couple of weeks before your trip. There are often cancellations, especially with RdZ.
