12/9, Fantasmic is scheduled for 7pm with park closing listed at 8pm. Do you think we'll be able to go see Osbourne lights after Fantasmic gets out? Also, what restaurants are doing the Fantasmic dinner show package? Thanks.

I think it would depend on where they seat you for Fantasmic. Because the show has thousands of people and only 1 true exit, it makes it difficult to get anywhere quickly after Fantasmic.

The Fantasmic restaurants are normally Brown Derby (similar to the original Brown Derby), Mama Melrose (Italian food) and Hollywood & Vine (buffet). On rare occasions they offer different restaurants or lunch Fantasmic packages, but I don't think that's occurred for the past few years.

Two trips ago we were able to see Fantasmic, wander out slowly after many people had left, and head to Osborne Lights. I think when we went they actually showed Fantasmic at 7:00 AND listed MGM as closing at 7:00, too, but we were told by the CMs that we would have plenty of time to wander around, and they were right. We wouldn't have left the park until 8:30, I would think, and there were certainly others still there.

Hope this helps!

Like CindyAnn said, you'll have pleanty of time to see the lights. Fantasmic is a 25 minute show. It's not going to take you 35 minutes to get out of the theater afterward.

And, there are actually two exits. The second one is the route used to admit those who buy the dinner package. I'm not a big fan of the dinner package myself because I think the seats are poor, but that's a topic for a different thread.

Also note that they won't begin herding you out of the park precisely at 8pm. Just like at the Magic Kingdom, the park will remain open to accommodate guests after the posted closing time. Given the extra time provided for the lights after Fantasmic this year, you might even want to hold yourselves back a bit and let the majority of the crowd go first.

Have fun.

The night we are doing fantasmic and hoping to see the lights, fantasmic shows at 8 AND the park closes at 8......we will still be able to do the lights after fantsmic, in this situation???

I have really been wondering about this, as we have a PS for dinner at 5:30 and dont know if we will have time to see the lights before fantasmic and still get good seats for fantasmic!

Hey! Thanks! I feel really dumb now! I have found this calendar before, but never knew I could click on the date for more info! LOL :o

No need to feel dumb, I didn't know till someone pointed it out to me. That is what the DIS is all about, helping each other find out the info we need. Glad I could help.

Over after Fantasmic to walk through Osborne Lights and always been able to do so without CM's trying to hurry us from park.::yes:: :wave2:

On the nights with 2 showings of Fantastmic, does anyone know how crowded the Osborne lights are during the first show? On 12/21 Fantasmic is showing at 7 pm and 8:30 pm. I have thought about seeing the Osborne lights at 7 and then going to the second show of Fantasmic. Does this sound like a good plan? Will the crowds be OK for the lights at that time?
