Fantasmic! Superthread - Or Everything You Need To Know About Fantasmic at Disneyland

During my last visit on 15Nov2014, I watched Fantasmic! for the billionth time and was very disappointed to see that there were no stunts performed on the Peter Pan ship. This included the pirate falling from a high mast down onto an airbag, the pirate swinging from the ropes off the side of the ship, Peter Pan "flying" up to evade Hook, and most notably Hook swinging back and forth off the back of the ship dangling precariously in front of Tick Tock croc. As a matter of fact, there was NO movement in terms of position in the choreography at all! They did hand motions and such, but stayed static in one spot for the entire segment. Is this permanent or temporary? Is there a reason? Maybe an accident happened and now they're not allowed to do these things anymore? I hope someone knows something because this diluted version of the choreography is very disheartening and takes the charm out of the performance.

My apologies if this has already been previously addressed. I'm new to the bored and forums in general. THANKS!

If it had been rainy and the ship it's slick/wet they don't do the stunts. Last Friday none, it had rained that morning. Sunday, dry, stunts were back in.

We just used the FB system for Fantasmic on Monday night. We wanted the later show so returned to the FP distribution area later in the afternoon. No problem. We have tickets for the blue section.

Again, no problem. Everything ran smoothly with no drama. It's an old show. They really need to retool the thing. It is not worth a meal to get the ticket, in my opinion.

We always just strolled by and caught it. Now, with the ticket you get a little area if you choose to wait.

I may be in the minority here but I never (ever) understood why people would sit and wait for the show for hours. This should solve that problem of losing so much time.

2) Reserve a Fantasmic dinner package at the River Belle Terrace

Starting December 12, River Belle Terrace will debut a new offering for Fantasmic dining packages. The restaurant will cease counter-service service at 2 p.m., and will reopen at 3 p.m. as a table service operation. The restaurant will offer a three-course prix fixe Fantasmic dinner, including starter, entree and dessert.

Guests who book this package will be in a different viewing area than those who book the Blue Bayou package, and do not receive the souvenir Fantasmic cushion. Subject to availability, you may also request to remain in the River Belle Terrace seating area and watch the show from your table.

Can anyone comment on their experience with Belle Terrace option. specifically if they have stayed at their table for the show....and if this is even a good option.

I'm not sure if you can stay at the table if you have a late reservation however most tables will only have an ok view, if any. You will have a much better view in the waterside viewing area for RBT, so if you have the option, plan for an earlier dinner to allow time to finish and get to the viewing area

Anyone able to tell me where the yellow section is currently? We just pulled them... Thank you!

I'm considering booking the Fantasmic on the go package for our next trip. Can anyone please share their experiences on this packages or pictures of the food?
Thank you!!!

I have been searching sites for the menus for these meals but I can't seem to find them anywhere! I really don't want to reserve something if most in my party won't enjoy the food...also if I reserve them is it with a credit card hold? Do they charge the card if we don't show up?

Planning my first trip back in 20 years. I remember F! as being incredible at the time (I was an adult at the time - so not looking through a child's eyes). I remember the shock and thinking - "Holy ****, they just set the river on fire!"

When you say "old" do you mean that you've seen it so much that it has lost its appeal? Or that other shows have surpassed it in quality? Or do you mean that the show is literally old and run down and problems are creeping in?

Obviously, I'm most concerned about that last possibility.

After just having a terrible experience trying to watch WOC with the terrible system they employ, I am sad to see them do this. It ruined my experience twice for WOC last trip and I wont bother with Fantasmic. Letting people come throw down a blanket is the most fair way to do it. No cattle call, just waiting. True first come first serve. If I want the best seat and I am willing to wait for it...(for what it is worth, not an annual pass holder or frequent visitor. Just someone who doesn't mind waiting the old fashioned way without ropes and tickets.

From everything I'm reading, there is a big difference between WoC FP and F! FP. People who have reported doing the Blue Bayou dining package say that they got great seats and didn't have to get there too early.

But people who have done the WoC dining package seem to say that the package didn't really help them much, and they still had to get there 90 minutes early to get a good spot.

I'm guessing the difference is the viewing area. Lots of great spots for F! but few good spots for WoC.

Has anybody done both? Am I correct?

No technical issues the 4 times I've seen the show. IMO, it never gets old, love it!

Somewhat. With F! Dining it's all sitting, which makes it easier to get a good view. I've only done Carthay for WOC and we had a great view too, but it was a Monday night and the viewing area was not too crowded. I think we waited an hour there, played the mickey wheel challenge while waiting. I'd do the carthay package again.

Quick question: Does anyone know how quickly the Fastpasses for the second show (10:45 this week) for Friday nights have been selling out? I'm taking my friend to the parks for the first time this Friday for his birthday and want to try to catch the late show, but due to us coming after we finish class, we won't be there till 1pm at the earliest. Will we still be able to get passes? Thanks!

Does anyone have links to the different menu options and prices for the different restaurant choices?

Just back from three days at Disneyland. My 6 year old DGD and I did the RBT dinner package for F. The food was good--I had chicken she had Mac and cheese. Nice sitting outside under heater and watching the action around us. DGD said it was "fancy." We both liked our meals. Service was great too. Got our FP and returned at 7 for 7:30 show. No problem lining up--most yellow jacket CMs knew what they were doing. One we asked did not, so just ask a few to find out answer. Got in right away--line moved quickly. I brought blow up camp cushions so we didn't have to sit on cold, damp pavement. We were second row back from fence. Great seats. When show started DGD scooted in front of me for unobstructed view of show. Her first time for F--loved it!! After show deflated cushions and stowed in backpack. Easy and comfy. I bought then on Amazon for $6 each. Nice alternative to BB-DGD doesn't like that restaurant much--go figure!

I think the FP system is much better than old system. More organized--limits number of people in the area so leaving was easier too. Also people can move around that area. Crowd level that day was 7 so fairly crowded. Seems Disney has worked out the kinks with this.
