Hi! First time post but long time Disney fan. Going in May for a visit to AK and HS before our 7 night Disney cruise (yay!). We will be at HS on May 2. I'm already struggling between doing Fantasmic OR the Star Wars dessert party/show. I have an 8 year old that wants to see Fantasmic and a 10 year old that wants to see the Star Wars fireworks. So that's great LOL. And then throw me in the mix...I am anxiously awaiting any details on the Wonderful World of Animation projection show because that's what MOM wants to see! The show is supposed to debut on May 1 at HS. Does anyone know anything about that? I'm assuming it will be projected on the theatre...and either before or after Star Wars? Come on Disney...less than 60 days out...give us details!!!!! I see that I can still book the Star Wars dessert party for May 2....so I'm guessing this new show has to be before or after. Anyone know anything? Or just waiting like me? :) Thanks!

I'm also anxiously waiting! We will be at HS on May 1 and would love to see the first night of Animation but also have never seen Fantasmic. Decisions, decisions!!

First of all :welcome:
The new show is replacing Disney Movie Magic which plays before SWaGS. With the dessert party you will be escorted to the reserved viewing area before the show so you can see both from that spot.
Thank you! That is super helpful! Looks like we're going to do the Star Wars dessert party...so we can see both! The 8 year old will like seeing the animation projections...so that works! Thank you!

you cannot go wrong with the SW dessert party, probably one of the best reviewed parties on property

I'm a fan of dessert parties after doing the Tomorrowland Terrace one at MK for the fireworks. I've not done the HS one. I will say that I was able to get as good or better viewing area for the fireworks/projection show at HS than the dessert party guests got by arriving about 20 minutes early. So, if it's only for viewing, I don't think it would be worth it. If you enjoy the desserts and experience and low stress, then it's probably worth it.

When did this get announced? We will be there on May 2nd and I was planning for a nice relaxing night watching SW fireworks for the first time. Sigh. I guess that plan needs to change. It's probably going to be a lot more crowded than it would have been.

May 2nd should be fine, May 1st is the 30th anniversary of DHS and that is the day that will see more crowds just because of the celebration

Thanks for the information. I just booked the Dessert Party and look forward to seeing the new show!
