Fantasmic show - with or without dining pkg.

I booked the Fantasmic dining pkg. at MM's, but I'm wondering how the seating compares. Has someone posted a map in the past of the seating setup? I tried doing a search on the DISboards but couldn't find anything.

Is the reserved section blocked from the regular seating section? How exactly does it work - do they only let in people with the dining plan at a certain time and everyone else is standing in line waiting for the regular seating until a set time? Do they give you tickets at dinner when you have the dining pkg.?

If you look on the Theme Park board someone posted great maps within the last day or two so you shouldn't have to go back too far to find them. We did the package last February because it was President's Week so it was much busier than the times we usually go. They gave us tickets at dinner to present at the show. You have a special entrance, near Oscar's, to the stadium. You show your ticket and they let you proceed up the walkway - it is a fairly long walk. Someone checked our ticket again when we entered the reserved seating section. The reserved section is off to the side but we are among the group who believe that there really aren't any bad seats. We've watched from just about every section of seating - the center is best but the side sections still have a great view.

We were glad to have the package in February since the stadium filled up early. But we typically travel off season and usually just walk into the stadium 30 minutes before the show anyhow and get a good seat. We would do it again though if the dinner times worked out for us - we figure we have to eat somewhere. Wish the 50's Prime Time participated though since it is our favorite at the Studios. We may consider going out of our way more to do the package once we hear reports of how quickly the shows fill up once they cut back to only twice a week.

I'm having the same problem, I was going to book the Mama Melrose Fantasmic! package but I'm wondering if it's worth it. I definitely don't want to have to show up 90 minutes before the show to get a decent seat but I heard that the seats are not very good when you do get the package. Also, is the food at Mama Melrose worth it? I've heard some good reviews on allears.net but if it's fake Prego/Ragu Italian food I doubt I will like it...somebody help! :confused3

We did Fantasmic with dinner at Hollywood and Vine. Worked out great and was worth it!

I just booked Mama Melrose dinner package yesterday for our stay in December. It was the only restaurant she could get that week but I think we'll be pretty happy (it will be me and my DS15). I'm curious as well about the reserved seating. Will it be too close? Will we get wet? :scared1:

I never booked a pkg. and always had great seats an no problem getting in either . Naturally I was there at least 30 to 40 min's before the show started to.

We did the dinner package for our trip in August. We didn't regret doing the package and would do it again in a heartbeat. We could only get into H&V, Mama Melrose was where I really wanted to eat at.

We were given a blue piece of paper. We had to show it at the special entrance which is up near the main entrance of the park. Then we had to show it again once we were up by the stadium. The seating wasn't bad. It's on the far right of the stadium. We got (lightly) sprayed a couple of times during the show. It wasn't like getting soaked if you sit in the soak zone at Sea World. If you don't want to sit that close then sit on one of the rows back. I believe it's the first 10 rows or so that could get lightly sprayed with the water.

We plan to use the package when we go back.

I have been trying to get the Fantasmic! package at Mama Melrose's for weeks.. with no luck!!! :confused3 We are going Nov 1-8. I have reservations for lunch - but no package.:sad1: We had the package in Sept. 2006 and it worked out great for us. We are going back to MM for our 20th anniversary  since it is my husbands favorite restaurant at WDW.

Hi
We used the package and ate at Mama Melroses. Our dinners were pretty good, and I would eat here again. Since we had my DGD (4) with us last year, it was worth it to not have to wait to get in. We arrived at the stadium about 15 minutes ahead of time and got great seats. (They recommend that you arrive about 30 minutes ahead of time). The seats are to the right of the stadium, but we could see great. This was in August, but if your're going at a time that is not as crowded, you might not need the package.
