I have a 5 and 3 year old that we planned on taking to the Fantasmic Show in August> is it too scary/loud for them???????????? ive been told to avoid it?

Hi,

If you do a search on this board you will find many other threads on this topic. The bottom line is: you know your kids better than anyone else. We have friends who went with a 6YO who was scared to death and a 3YO who loved it.

It has fire, fireworks, and scary villains but it has a happy ending too.

When mine were 2 & 4 they were scared, and have not asked to go back. They usually are not scared of many of the shows or attractions at that time and that one didn't like. Now they are 7 & 5 I'm going to try it again in a few weeks.

I have a son who was 2 when he first saw it, he watched the whole thing....imagin that, a 2 yr.old sitting still for a long period of time!
He is now 3 and loves the show. If your kids like fireworks, can handle loud noises such as the firework explosions they should be fine.

(Now, waiting for the show to start with a 3 yr old...that's another story...buy popcorn!) :earsgirl:

Bob P is right -- you know your kids best. Our DD#2 was a little over 2 when we first saw it but she slept through most of it. There are periods of darkness and some scary/villain stuff. Our youngest now enjoys this show and always talks about the snake and dragon and Mickey. When she was 3, she was content to sit in my lap and I held her ears for any loud noises. If you aren't sure whether they will enjoy it, you could sit in the back just in case you need to make a quick getaway...

At 2, my son was scared. It was the only thing at any of the parks that bothered him. Not from anything visual, but from the noise - it's very loud. We had saw illuminations earlier in the week, and he was fine with that, but not with Fantasmic. It must have triggered something in him, because the second time we went to see Illuminations that week, he was then scared from the fireworks. At 3 he loved both of them. We probably wouldn't have even thought of taking him on that trip, but in between during the Fourth of July, he ended up enjoying the fireworks. Based on that, we thought we would give it another try, and he really liked it. At that age, they can change so quickly.

We have a 4 1/2 yr old DS! He like it but had his ears covered at the end with the villians but not scared of the visions. He wanted to buy the dragon so now it is sitting on his bed. He think it is cool and plays with it often. So I quess the special effects are too loud for young ears. We were more worried about the wait before the show started.

Have fun!
