How early do you need to get to fantasmic to get a seat the first week of september? We normally do the fantasmic dining pkg, but we wanted to try something new this time-PTC-which is not included. (Don't like the idea of HV or MM, and don't want to use 2 ts on BD.) Is the dining pkg that critical this time of year?

I agree. :thumbsup2
Especially if you don't want to sit too far in the back of the theatre.

Isn't closer to the back more desirable? (from things I've read and our past experience...) Due to getting wet, being closer to the exit after, etc? Yikes-Have we been doing this wrong? Where is the best place to sit? Thanks!!

I had previously read that if you didn't have a FP+or dining reservation for the first showing it was almost impossible to get in stand by. This this still the case? I was wondering how the Frozen night activities effected it too. We are going in 1 week.

Standby seating is all the sections to the right of Dining and may fill up 30 minutes before Fant. Those remaining Standby guests then have to wait to enter after the FP entry window has closed.

If you go to the 1st Fant, it will be more difficult to find a good view of the Frozen stage show and the fireworks. If you check the Frozen tips thread, there is a tip in the first post for viewing the fireworks after the 1st Fant.

Subscribing-

I have the dining pkg reserved for a trip with only DS, 8, and I @ MM on Sep 18. I'm wondering if it is going to be worth it. I wouldn't mind trying this restaurant, as it is one of the few we haven't tried yet, but I hate to feel pressured to order (& consume!) more food then what we really need. If we don't need the pkg for seating this time of year, I might rebook as a regular ADR.

I've seen so many differing opinions on this. Last time we were there we did not see Fantasmic! because it's not worth waiting an hour for to us. But many people on here have said that you can walk in 5 minutes before it starts and still have a seat in the back, or the standing only area. There is a big difference in those two. In early December, when they only have one show does it fill to capacity every night?

Actually, almost all the seats are great at this venue due to the identical triple water screens. The only seats that might be considered marginal or 'bad', would be those up front rows, first half dozen maybe. With the wind and wind direction, you can easily get anywhere from damp to soaked. Might be nice on a 90º evening in the summer, but other times, not so much. I like to watch the show, but not get soaked.
