Fantasmic seating is terrible!

I do agree that sitting on the dirty ground where thousands walk all day is really gross. It's something I have to mentally psyche myself up for each time; I constantly remind myself that hot water and soap will be available soon (in addition to the Wet Ones I keep in my purse!). I do my best to overcome because boy do I love the parades and fireworks! And boy do I love the purple seat cushions we get from the BB dining package! ;)

The BB dining package area most definitely remains seated the whole time. I did not pay attention to the other areas.

We loved being able to get a FP for Fantasmic on our last trip. It was actually the first time that we took in the show on any of our trips as the thought of having to camp out for hours before and in such a congested area was not appealing to us.

Anytime we can take advantage of FP to save time we definetly do it

See, we were in the same boat before. I did NOT want to spend time camping out, waiting for a show. I'm going to do the RBT dining package on our next trip and am very excited to do so as we've never seen Fantasmic.

I ate at River Belle Terrace, and though we didn't have cushions, we got the area just to the right of Blue Bayou, still in the center area. I thought we had great seats. I was about 5 rows in, and with everyone sitting had a great view. I also really enjoyed my meal.

I'm not a fan of the FP for F! either. I never had to camp out for he show before. I never had a problem finding a great unobstructed viewing spot 15-30 min before the show started without the FP. To me the FP system for the shows takes away from it because you have to plan a lot more to get there and find a good spot. F! isn't as bad as WOC but it's still more of a hinderance IMO.

This.

Every time I have tried to watch the show now, I get a different answer about standby viewing without having a fastpass. I am usually at the parks too late to get a FP for the earlier show, so I always have to ask where can I watch it without a fastpass. I've been told to go to different locations at different times, that there is no fastpass viewing for standby and so on. The places that I used to watch F! are no longer available and way fuller than they were before the existence of fastpass for Fantasmic, or in the occasions that there is space left, I am told I can't watch it from there. Ridiculous.

Thanks for letting me know how your experience went! I've seen some photos of the food and seating charts for the seating area and it seems like a pretty good deal to me.

AGREE!!!

I have only seen Fantasmic once and that was in the dessert box area? If I have to sit on the ground I will never get to see it again.

Am I missing something here? I've been to Fantasmic several times and its stadium type seating with benches? You now have to stand??!! I was just there last summer!

DW has the stadium, DL does not.

:)

Yep.

At Disneyland, Fantasmic is presented on a stage and in the water at Tom Sawyer's Island. People sit across the river in a section of steps to watch.

The best comparison to WDW I can give is...imagine being in the Magic Kingdom and sitting on the path in front of Country Bear Jamboree and watching Fantasmic across the river on the island.

R.I.P. The Fantasmic! Dessert Package. I'm pouring out a little hot cocoa in your memory...

We did the BB package a couple of days ago. We really missed the dessert package and especially the chairs!!! My DD even cried for a quick second as we were sitting on the hard dirty ground packed in like sardines! She looked at us with big sad eyes and said "I want hot chocolate and a chair" and a couple of tears fell. It was fun, but not the same.

I looooooved the dessert package!! It was the only way I would bother to try and see F! I do feel like you get a little more bang for your buck with the BB package, but I always loved the dessert package, well mainly the chair.

This last time we did the BB F! package was dapper day this last spring, so we figured with how busy we expected it to be, it would be an even better value. Although it was completely awesome to get the front row, cushion or no cushion, my tush hurt!! It didn't help that I was in full dapper day duds and that show felt like it was 4 hours long sitting on that ground in a skirt with a tight waist. I never missed the dessert package more than that moment.

Honestly, we enjoyed the seating from the fantasmic dining. We always go to Blue Bayou for a meal on a trip anyways, so before AP discount, was an extra 15 dollars I think per person, but that included drinks and dessert with the meal which is separate normally. And the seat cushion was really nice. Sitting on the ground really doesn't bother me, I prefer it to standing myself, but I'm also not a germaphobe and Disney does a pretty good job of keeping the ground areas clean. I'm used to doing hikes when going camping and your seat for lunch was a rock or a tree stump if you are lucky.

I just want to point out that for those who don't like sitting on the ground, you can still bring a blanket along to sit on. You just can't lay it out hours ahead of time!

It's not the dirt that bothers me but arthritis. I might get down... but I wouldn't be getting back up.
