I didnt know this was possible. Do you have any more info on this? How do you do it and is there a fee?
We love Fantasmic at WDW. Ive heard its better in DL so of course Id love to see it there too. However Ive also heard there are no seats, and people find spots hours in advance so Im thinking I dont want to spend time on the 3 short days we have there, staking out a spot for something weve pretty much seen. And the kids standing for hours doesnt sound like fun either. Id love to find a way to reserve a spot. :D

I *believe* its 30 days out but not 100% positive on that-

As for the options for F! there are 3

1) Get a spot early and enjoy (Free)

2) Fantasmic Riverfront Seating- Its about 30 dollars for adults (less for kids) and includes a decent dessert buffet and beverages and a seat for the show off to the side (in front of the Haunted Mansion) This is ALOT easier to get than Balcony and often times is available day of show- The seats are done on a first arrive basis and can be moved around a bit. Having more of an oppertunity for a good view.

3) Fantasmic Balcony- Its about 30 also but same price for both kids and adults. Its also has a dessert buffet and beverages and its located in the Disney Gallery- It seats about 16 and well if you are not on the first row can be a bit hard to see past if you have tall people infront of you (seats are by order or purchase- ie if you were the first caller and got 3 tickets youd have seats 1,2,3) so there isnt a kids get front row thing- This often sells out minutes after availability opens.

Personally I much prefer the get there early and sit dead center front row but I have done the Balcony twice and I'll only do it again if its a group thing I'm involved with... To me its overrated- Its crowded and the view is good but not excellent

If you are going on days with 2 F!s and Fireworks choose the first show as you can stay for the Fireworks :)

<font color=navy>The price is more like $49 per person for the balcony and $49/adult & $39/child for the riverside seating.

Although I've seen Fantasmic many times (from different areas), I had cousins from out of town last August & got the riverside seating. I advise getting there about an hour before Fantasmic starts & have them take your name as soon as possible. You'll need to show the CMs your tickets. They'll sit the parties according to their check-in list.

I was glad we did it, instead of the usual 3-4 hour wait I do for our guests. :) We enjoyed the snacks and beverages, and then stayed for the fireworks.

Thanks for the info! But I think for that price, we will skip it. ;)
Do they usually have 2 shows in mid August?

Dang the price has gone up since I did the balcony- I know a bunch of the group I went with were very dissatisfied with the offerings and Ive heard its gotten better but still- Yikes!

Yes they do. But to get decent seats for the second one, you pretty much have to be in the area when the first one ends.

Thanks for all this info! I have no clue about this stuff.
Is it tough to get just a regular spot for the second show? And where exactly do people stand to watch it?

Most of the area is seating only--if you are between the planters andthe river you have to sit. Behind the planters is a standing area. If you want to stand for the show, the best spot is by the center light stand. It will be lowered between shows (they lower if for better fireworks viewing) and you'll notice a lot of people don't stand there because they think the view will be blocked, but shortly before the show it will be raised up again and so long as you are to one side of the center of it, you'll have a nice unobstructed view.

Oh see, I had heard there were no seats for Fantasmic in DL. Shows you what I know. ;) I was picturing something like Illuminations at Epcot, where you just have to find a place and stand there. So there really is an area to go to to watch Fantasmic. Thanks!

There are no "seats", instead you sit on the ground. The show takes place on the Rivers of America and on Tom Sawyer Island and the prime spots are directly in front of the island's stage (with the river in between, of course).

This is a picture from Ton Sawyer Island (the stage for F!)

The building 2nd on the right is the balcony next (on the R) is Pirates of the Caribbean-

The area directly infront is the seating section- After the railing is Standing Room. The area directly to the Right (off picture) becomes the Tech Booth with one of the large Light Towers

Seating/Standing goes from the boat dock around to HM
