Fantasmic & rainy weather????

Fantasmic will perform even when it's raining. The only time it will be possibly be cancelled is if there is lightning nearby. If it does rain too much sometimes they will have a water screen version of the show without live performers but they haven't had to do so yet. :earsboy:

Yes.

It doesn't even have to be raining...if there is thunder and lightning, they will cancel.

This happened to us last May (and we had bought the H&V package). However, they did wait until the very last minute to cancel, so they were really trying to avoid cancelling. There was no rain, but ALOT of thunder. About twenty minutes after they announced that it was cancelled, the bottom fell out of the sky, so they made a good call.

When we saw Fantasmic in June, it looked like it was going to storm before the show. There was even some lightening and thunder until about 20 minutes before the show. The show went on! We never did get a storm or any more thunder and lightening.

When I booked the dinner pkg. for our upcoming trip, the nice CM on the phone said that in the event of modest rain, they've developed a modified live show. He did say that they do sometimes have to cancel completely, so best to be prepared.

May we all have sunny days and storm-free nights. :sunny:

Unlike the person who said that they do not cancle in rain, they do, and the other poster was right in saying they will and can cancel it for reasons not even related to rain, such as technical problems.

If it does rain, they recently created a "mini" version which is said to be less than 10 minutes and basically all it is is them firing off all of the pyrotechnics that they had set up for the show with a small musical compliment.

We saw it in November. We arrived about an hour early and it was already raining- thought we'd wait it out. While waiting it rained soooo hard, even had some lightning. Kept making announcements it could be cancelled. We decided to wait, through some VERY heavy rain, all huddeled under ponchos. They made an announcement it would be delayed 15 minutes. I think the show started about 20 minutes late. Lightning had stopped. About 3/4 of the way through the show, rain started again. The show went on and finished. It was an awesome show and well worth sitting in the rain for. Going back in May and my kids are talking about seeing it again, hopefully without the rain this time!!! :umbrella:

Okay a revision of what i have said. The show will and can go on if it's raining. If it's pouring then of course it will change to the water screen show with some pyros. What I was saying is that when I worked there I never ever had that happen. So to correct myself the show will sometimes go on when it's raining but definetly not when there's electric activity in the air nearby. :rotfl2:
