This will be my first time in 15 years going to disney. I have a five year old and I know she will love this show. My husbasnd and I have never seen the show either. I was wondering, do you have to pay for this show? And would anyone know what is the best way to go to the show, dinner package or stand in line. We will have the dining plan and we are going Feb 12 - Feb 17.

nope the show is free! I'm not sure about the dining package but you can get into the Fantasmic theater about an hour or so before to get good seats.
Enjoy! it's a great show

No you do not have to pay for the show. Your park ticket gets you into the show.
I have never been in Feb. I know that they consider President's Week peak time (I still haven't figured out why that is). However, your time seems to be an "off" time in Feb. so I wouldn't think the dinner/show package would be necessary and you could just walk in Fantasmic with the regular line/wait.
Be sure not to sit too close to the front, though. You will get wet if you do.
I recommend about mid-way back, center if possible. However, there are good views from each angle. It is definitely a must-see show. Be prepared, though, that the villains do come out and it does get "intense". Your 5 year old may get a little scared. Just be sure to tell her that Mickey "beats" them in the end. He handles them so it is all ok! :wizard:

The link Bob posted was about the Fantasmic! Dinner Package. Personally, I think you'll be fine without it and going standby.

We just returned the beginning of this month. We also were on the dining plan and did the Fantasmic Dinner Package. It is now officially covered under the Dining Plan. We went to Mama Melrose and had a wonderful meal, got our vouchers and then strolled on over to the Fantasmic theater and walked right up. They have a separate entrance and reserved seats so you don't have to worry about being there an hour or so in advance in order to get a seat. I'm sure you would be just fine if you didn't do the Fantasmic Dinner Package, but we really enjoyed it and probably won't see Fantasmic again without it.

So do they show this show every night more than once and is it always at the same times or do they change every night? Thank you for your help so far.

Hello--

Someone else mentioned the show's intensity, and I see that you're getting advice about the hours -- my only advice is to think twice about keeping your 5-year-old up and out too late, especially if you've already had a long day and have a big day planned for the next day. It's easy to underestimate how intense the ENTIRE WDW experience is for kids -- they are having a blast, they may push you to keep going and to keep them out late, but believe me -- you'll regret it if you over-do it. Just friendly advice -- if you think it's possible that you'll do another WDW when your child is older, I would put off things like Fantasmic and Illuminations, etc. These are wonderful shows, don't get me wrong -- but it takes a loooong time to get back to your hotel room afterwards, etc. etc. -- I would just urge caution about not overdoing it.

We always had days that we went back to the room for midday NAPS around 2or so then went full steam for all the night stuff .Disney is great and should not be missed after dark.It works out great a few days in a row because they get up early but are still sort of tired from the day before and go right to sleep. this works for the adults as well .

the show is free, get there early and there won't be lines.

FWIW, my son was three when I took him to see it, he freaked out. It was kind of scary at times for the younger ones.
