I've never done Fantasmic without a package. We're planning an "impromptu" YIPPEEEEE!!! trip first week-end in October, (I'm SO excited !!!!!). Anyway, at that time of year, on a week end, considering the F & W festival etc. How early do you have to be at Fantasmic to get a seat. I don't care about the "best" seat, just a nice seat. We have a limited number of days, don't really care for ANY of the package restaurants (tried them all now), and would rather not waste an eating place for this. Let's say this is a Friday or Saturday night. Is one better than the other. Thanks!!!

I don't know for sure, but since Saturday is EE day at MGM, I'd guess it would be packed for Fantasmic. Maybe try Friday?

Good point, should have thought of that. So then Friday it is. Does someone still know about how early you have to get there at that time of year????

what is the fantasmic show, which park, and do you need advance reservations or tickets for this? if so, how do you get them? if not, what is the best strategy to see it? :earsgirl:

Carol9999,

Fantasmic is and EXCELLENT show with live action, animation, fireworks - it's hard to explain. It's shown at MGM each night (sometimes twice a night during busy season.) It's free with your park admission. The Fantasmic package gets you seating in a certain area. In order to qualify, you must call WDW-DINE and ask for the Fantasmic pkg. They will make a PS for you at Brown Derby, Mama Melroses. or HV for the night of the show. After dinner, your server will hand you vouchers for Fantasmic and you'll enter from a separate place.

It is NOT a mandatory program. You can still see Fantasmic without the package.
