Fantasmic Pkg for Aug?

We will be heading down to WDW 8/22-8/29. Everything I read talks about lower crowd levels. So my question is this, is the fatasmic dinner pkg neccessary? When we went last sept. we walked right into fantasmic about 45 min before the show and had great seats. Thanks

we went to MGM in february when it was very low crowd levels, but we still had the package. i think it is nice just to be close to the back exit, i have been stuck on a couple of occasions trying to get out for more than 30 minutes. plus, it is nice to have a few extra minutes because you wouldn't have to get there quite so early. have fun!! i am jealous, we won't be going back to visit mr. mouse until november

I really dont know..Now we went March 05 during Spring Break. The parks were the most crowded Ive ever seen it and we were able to walk in the ampitheater at the last minute before show started and go a whole row of seats.. Now we may have just been lucky because I have heard of ppl coming an hour or two before to get seats but in my opinion their is no bad view..I mean its stadium seating so your line of vision wont be blocked..Then again I dont want to say Oh you dont need the package and then you cant get seats..lol Maybe.. you can book package see how bad crowds are and decide for yourself when you get there..

We went that very same week last year (6 of us) and did not have the dinner package. Got there 45 minutes in advance and had great seats. This year we are going that same week again and did not book the dinner package. We figure if it worked for us last year we'll make it work again this year.
