If paying OOP, is there an upcharge for the Fantasmic dinner package or just the cost of your meal?

If you go to the allears link, you'll see its a package price at h&V (buffet) and MM's (app, entree, dessert.) You pay the menu price at BD.

There is a $10 cancellation fee (less than 48 hours) but if you show up, there is no extra charge.

I have to disagree about the section being all equal.

The reserved section is all the way over on the right side of the theater - the Witch section. The amphitheater is set up so that there really are no *bad* seats, except you will get wet if you sit in the first few rows.

The witch section In my oppion Is not that good,we just got up and moved over.

I thought it was a fixed price at all locations, including Brown Derby.

Bob, thank you for the link.
Everyone else, thank you for your input.

At Mama's, can I order any app, entree and dessert or do I have to choose from a limited/special menu?

It's a fixed-price meal. You can choose an app, entree and dessert at MM or HBD from their regular menu.

How does the pricing work for brown derby? Do you have to order app, main course, and dessert?

You don't have to order an app, main course and dessert, but when you book the Fantasmic package you are going to be rung up as a Fantasmic package, and it's a fixed price. So, even if you only eat an app, you will be charged the package price (I think it was around $55 per adult + drinks + tax and tip when we went in September). We used DxDP credits. I posted my receipt in this post:http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?p=40185899#post40185899. You can see that we're not rung up as lamb or pasta, but as Fantasmic package.

I don't get it. So I can order whatever I want from BD BUT I have to pay a set price ahead of time? How much is it?? I will not be having the dining plan.

That is correct. Same as Mama Melrose.

The latest prices I could find (post October 2010 price) -
BD - $58.57 adult, $18.10 child
MM - $38.33 adult, $12.77 child

I don't know if those prices are still current or not - you should be able to get the current price for your date by mock booking the package on the dining site (I think you can do that, but I'm not sure). There are lunch packages as well - not sure if they are a few dollars cheaper or not. Also, the link I found says those prices do not include tax & gratuity.

Allears info has lower prices and doesn't have a price for BD, also mentions "June 2009" so that seems to be out of date. wdwinfo.com has a price range that is similar to what I listed above for the high end.

The Fantasmic package is a set price. But there isn't a separate menu or a smaller menu that you have to order from. On the contrary, you can order one app, one entree and one dessert from the regular menu. That's why I mentioned you can order whatever you like, but you will be charged as a Fantasmic package. Hope that helps!

We just did the Fantasmic package tonight at HBD. Price was $53.99 for adults and $16.99 for kids, plus tax. Food was fabulous, service a little lacking; it was really slow. Which I don't mind but my kids got restless. I thought the seating was just fine...yes it's off to one side, but if you sit as far over to the left as you can, the view was perfect. We'd never seen Fantasmic before in 8 trips, so I was really happy with the package. Couldn't believe how early the regular lines started filling in. In hindsight, we would have had no problem getting a seat without the package, but we would have been sitting high up. With the package seating, we were in about the 5th or 6th row. You could really feel the heat from those flames and we could definitely feel the mist from the water. Since we have always missed Fantasmic on our previous visits, I wanted to be sure we'd get there this time, and for that reason, I splurged on the package. Going forward we'll probably take our chances. I can live with a seat in the back now that I've seen it.
