So I just made ADR for the Fantasmic package at Hollywood and Vine. We were thinking it might be good for us because we have a 2 year old who can be antsy if he has to sit for long periods of time. My question is, if you get the voucher for the reserved seating is it worth it or should I cancel the ressie and just wait before the show? Will getting there 1/2 hour before the show be ample time before the show with the reserved seating?

Also, part of the reason I am reconsidering the whole thing is because I am not so sure that I like any of the restaurant choices for the Fantasmic package. Is the food good at Hollywood and Vine?

Yes it's worth it. When we eat at HV I though the food was good.

We did Mama Melrose's and it was very good... Just booked for Sept and am sure we'll be booking there again with the fantasmic dinner package. :Pinkbounc

we always go to H & V .....even if we dont do the Fantasmic Pkg.....we love that buffet and can find something for everyones likes ......I think we always did about 45 minutes to go into the Fantasmic theater

May depend on what time of year you will be there and how busy Fantasmic will be. You definately don't want to miss it and at a busy time the reserved seating is really worth it. We ate a H&V and had a great time. A 2YO may be a little scared by Fantasmic though...just a thought.

:) Thanks for the replies everyone. I feel a little more comfortable now that I know others have enjoyed the food on the buffet.

Maybelle...Thank you for your concern, but fear not. My 2YO is completely fearless. We have been to the Fantasmic show before, but it has been awhile, before my youngest was born. I am sure that he will think it is the neatest thing ever with all the lights, firework, charachters and whatnot. :sunny:

I am still wondering the exact thing for our trip. As of right now I have an ADR for H&V Fantasmic package. We ate there a few years ago for lunch, when it was still the character meal. I feel like the only reason I will be eating there is to not have to wait so long for Fantasmic. I have so many other restaurants I want to dine at so what to do?!

We book the package because we have teenagers who HATE to queue!!!!!!!!!

Ate at H&V on our last visit & all loved the food

What is the Fantasmic dinner package? We're going to do Mama Melrose, what is the menu if we reserve the dinner package? Is it different than the regular one? Thanks!

I read on the site about the set price thing- I have a child who is picky and may not eat- will he be charged?

I'm also thinking about booking the fantasmic dinner package because of DH who hates to wait in line . I'm glad that others on this thread have enjoyed H&V!

The problem I have with the dinner package is that there is always the risk of the show being rained out. happened to us last May. So if you don't love the meal choices it may not be worth the risk.
