fantasmic package or no?

We want to do the fantasmic show when we go, but are debating on whether to do the package or not. We aren't thrilled with any of the restaurant offers and didn't want to eat at 3:00.

Is it absolutely necessary? We are going in March and it is at 7:00, only one show that night.

Thanks!

I would say that you should def. do the package. I know you are going in March, but you have to take in consideration, Spring Break and Easter. A lot of people take trips in March (especially college students) because most colleges do cheaper rate trips for spring break. Mama Melrose is a good place. Do you have kids going with you? The show is amazing. The pakcage works out good because you don't have to wait in line for a long time and can enjoy the rest of the park while the non-package people have to wait in line. The seats are generally on the right hand side of the stage, but siting anywhere in the theatre is good seating. I hope you take my advice and have a great trip.

Thanks. We are going Feb 29-Mar 7. So, I don't anticipate a lot of crowds, but don't want to wait in line either. I am trying to justify eating dinner at 3:00!

For us, the Fantasmic package is too expensive and, combined with the ridiculous dining times, makes this a non-starter. We just get something to eat before we leave the resort or when we get to the park for the evening and haven't found the wait to get into Fantasmic to be a problem (or at least a problem we would be willing to pay the package price to avoid).

I've got reservations for 4:40 for our upcoming trip in February. We're eating at Hollywood & Vine, which wouldn't have been my first choice, but I'm sure will be fine.

We had the Fantasmic package last time we went and didn't end up even going to the show at our scheduled time. We ended up going to the later show, and got great seats on the left side almost center and we got there 15 minutes before show time. And we went in mid-June so it was pretty crowded.

I'd vote against it but if you wanted a guarantee I'd go with the package.

I don't know a whole lot about March crowds but I've seen the show with and without the package several times in August, Sept, Oct and Dec and realized that it is NOT necessary.

They open up the stadium over an hour before and I entered at 1 hour before and had amazing seats in the center, half way back. There was no line whatsoever.

Now, if you are going peak season, then yes, it may be worth it but if you are going during low crowd times, then no, it's not worth it, IMHO.

If it rains and the show is canceled those with the package are out of luck.

The package guarantees you a seat up to 30 minutes before. Then that section can, and sometimes is opened up to the general public. The package seats are to the far right.

I vote for eating where you want and then entering for the show at one hour before and getting your seats.

Good luck deciding!

If you're on the dining plan there is no "charge" just the TS credit(s).

We at that H&V for the package on Labor Day. We had a 4:40 ressie arrived late (hard to get from MK to MGM), were still seated and had a good, not great meal. We had a bit of time to mill around MGM before heading into the theater. It was nice to know we were getting in without a wait. If you have young children you really need to consider the package perks vs being in linf for up to an hour with them.

Been there done that, so I doubt I'd do the package again or rush to MGM to Fantasmic. It's nice, but it wasn't Wishes for me. Wishes is nostalgic, magical. Fantasmic is more "cool".
