Many friends have told me that they really enjoyed 50's prime time cafe. I was looking forward to going. I then learned about the Fantasmic Package and ended up booking at Hollywood and Vine. I am skeptical about this and have heard mixed reviews about Hollywood and Vine. I'm really considering canceling the package and just eating at 50's. What would your advice be?

We will be going April 11th, the day before Easter. I'm sure that this is a busy time.

If you want to see Fantasmic, I would hang on to that package. Reports about the crowds at the shows since they cut the schedule back have been mind-boggling.

Prime Time is a better meal than Hollywood and Vine, so I would think it just comes down to what's more important to you - a good meal or seats for Fantasmic.

I am having the same dilemma. We have enjoyed Sci-Fi because of the atmosphere (ds is 10). But I am thinking of giving H&V a try just to avoid the Fantasmic crowd. We are going in August.
Has anyone done H&V just for the Fantasmic seats AND ENDED UP REALLY ENJOYING THEIR DINNER? I think that info would help the OP decide if he should keep his Fantasmic package. Others (like me) would benefit as well!

We just cancelled our Fantasmic Dinner package for H&V in May. My neighbor was there last week and said that the food & service was terrible and even though they had seats it wasn't worth the meal & the wait. I would like to see Fantasmic but since they cut the # of show's it seems like the lines to get in without the package are unreal!!

I was looking at the calendar online and they have Fantasmic shows almost every night when we are going (May 31 - June 9). Do they cut down the shows the month you arrive or will the really have the show when it is scheduled?

For us the show is only 1 night while we are there and since it is also an EMH we were told to totally avoid DHS that day!

Oh and is Hollywood & Vine or Mama Melrose better?

I like Hollywood and Vine for dinner, it is a nice buffet. I am not a fan of the breakfast there, but lunch and dinner is pretty nice. I am doing this for Fantasmic myself. I am not a big fan of either of the other 2 options.

50's Prime time is really good but if you want the fantasmic pkg. then stick with the pkg. since they have cut down on the fantasmic shows it's hard to get in.

We did the Hollywood and Vine fantasmic package on our last trip and thought the food was great. The year before that we didn't know about the package and had almost a 3 hour wait to see fantasmic as the crowds were so huge (July). I am planning to book it again for our August trip, its so lovely to be able to practically walk up to the show. I would definitely recommend it :thumbsup2

Thank you so much!!! I had heard bad things about H&V and am so happy to hear good things. It seems sometimes that only you hear the bad things!
