Looking at our plans, we are looking at going to Hollywood Studios on 02-22-09 and wanted to book a Fantasmic Package for four at Hollywood & Vine

As of today, the only thing they had was 2 seatings for 2 at 3:35 and 3:45 which I booked.

Anyone familiar with seating at this restaurant. Do you think there is any chance when the day comes, we might be able to sit near or with each other since they are only 10min apart.

I'm bumming out as this day we really want to do HS and Fantasmic. Or, maybe we should take our chances and skip the ADR and just go to Fantasmic via the "regular" line.

HELP!

First, let me say I am no authority on this.

We just booked a H&V Fantasmic package for March at 4:15. I've heard mixed reviews about how valuable the Fantasmic package can be, as well as the restaurant. We are going for my son's 6th birthday. I have gone back and forth whether to keep the ADR or take a chance on seating. Some people have told me they saw no value in the package, others say it was a good peace of mind, and still others say they are so glad they did it.

We decided to keep ours. The worst that can happen is to not really need it, and if we get there and see better seats available outside the preferred seating, we'll make a move. :cool1:

I am sorry you didn't get ADRs together. Maybe if you arrive early and tell them the two groups are together they can work something out. It's worth a shot.

Have fun, and let me know how it works out if you keep it!

We have done the Hollywood and Vine fantasmic package. Hollywood and Vine is the worst dining experience we have had at WDW. When we did it (Jan 08) there wasn't much of a crowd for Fantasmic at all so the package's seating area didn't really help much. We have also done the Brown Derby Fantasmic package which was much better and was actually a pretty good deal.

The restaurant is open, no really separators around the tables, so chances are good that you will get seating close....on the other hand you do have them 10 minutes apart.....Maybe check in together and request that they seat you side by side if possible.....Never hurts to ask....

Fantasmic package.....We had it booked for a day in august of this year and we went to the seats provided....I didnt see any special thing about the seating. Anywhere in the arena you set you can see fairly well. These were just in the third or fourth section from the right. We just sat in the middle....that is until Faye decided to rain on our parade!!! WE didnt see that show....LOL

we did the Fantasmic package last May at H&V and we enjoyed both the restaurant and the seating advantage the package gave. That said, if you'd prefer different seats, you can go wherever you want once you're in there.

I'd say keep the dinner package, and hope they can seat you together. Mention it when you check in-they may be able to work around the situation.

Is that President's Day-week you're going to be at DHS? If so, the crowds may be larger than most of February (especially since they've cut out so many Fantasmic showings.)

Its the Sunday after Presidents day, so it's the end of Presidents week. Hopefully that Sunday crowd is light as people will be heading out after a weeks vacation.

The reason for booking is I have heard crowds line up 90 min before Fantasmic. I figure we need to eat at some point, so I was thinking a 3:30ish buffet would make a good late lunch/early supper and that would be our meal of the day (aside from breakfast at our house before we leave). Might as well grab the pass for reserved seating and save an hour wait in line. I'm just wondering if late February will be slow season and we won't really need the reserved seating...it's a gamble I guess!
