Fantasmic or Spectromagic?

The time we are going combined with only select dates for both events while also factoring in our dinner reservations only allows us to see one of these on Thursday night, September 23rd. Which is better, and why? I saw the light parade years ago when I was a teenager. I am going with someone who has never been to disney world before. Which do you recommend we see?

I vote for Spectromagic but that's just me. You'll probably get to watch Wishes too and even if you've watched it once it's worth watching again.
I don't really care for Fantasmic although I know most do.
They are totally different so it's hard to compare.

If you get Spec and Wishes that I would do thay. The most bang for your buck. If not Fantasmic. It's very different from anything else. I would guess if you had seen Fantasmic you probably wouldn't need to ask the question.

Which allows you more time in a less crowded park? We went last September and decided that we didn't want to brave the crowds that went along with the pared down Fantasmic schedule. We went to MK instead- had a wonderful time, found decent seats along Main St and enjoyed Spectro-Magic instead.

I never regretted my choice, though I do one day hope to see Fantasmic. For us, it was all about crowds (though in September, even a crowded day isn't too terrible).

Thanks! I think we'll stick with spectromagic. I heard you have to get to fantasmic like 2 hours early just to get a seat. Also, I think I posted this in the wrong forum, but thanks for answering!

I'd care for either. I've seen both so many times. Now it's too hard to pick, but I'd vote SpectroMagic. You get Wishes right after it too!

2 hours is WAY extreme. Usually 45 minutes prior will get you more than adequate seating.

Take a look at Spectromagic and Fantasmic! on YouTube. Then you can get a feel for both. Fantasmic is my favorite show in Disney. But Spectro is great too. You'll be happy with your choice either way.

You might want to re-check the calendar. We are going at the same time, and Spectromagic doesn't run on Thurs, Sept. 23. The MK closes early for the MNSSHP. Sorry!!
