Fantasmic & Maxpass Questions

I haven't visited the parks since Maxpass was added, and I have a few questions:

1. I have an AP. If I want to purchase Maxpass for a day I am visiting, do I have to wait until I'm already in the park that day? Or can I "schedule" Maxpass for an upcoming trip?

2. When can I make my first reservation? Is it when the park opens? Or not until I arrive at the park and have my AP scanned?

3. Can I get a Fantasmic FP through the app? My hunch would be "no", but when I click on F! in my DL app, it asks is I want to get a FP...and takes me to the Maxpass purchase link.

4. Any guesses as to when F! FP's are typically running out for the 9:00 and 10:30 shows on a Friday?

Thanks!

1. You have to wait til you scan into the parks.
2. You have to be scanned into the park to make reservations.

Answer to question #2, you cannot make any reservations until your AP is scanned into the park. Once you are scanned in, you can make reservations for the remainder of the operating day no matter where you are.

Answer to question #3, MaxPass is currently only for attractions. There is a Fastpass link on the app, but it leads nowhere.

Answer to question #4, I have been hearing that Fastpasses are usually gone by 10am/11am the latest for both shows.

My experiences have only been on Saturdays, but see below.

July 22 at 9:30am they were distributing for 10:30pm. CM said they ran out of the 9pm at about 9am.

July 29 when I got there and over to the distribution area at 11:15am they were already done for the day.

August 5 at about 9:15am they were already distributing for 10:30am.

The FP area for the show is now very small compared to before the refurb. It's the waterfront area to the right of the dinning packages. It has 2 seated sections and then the rest is standing on the riverfront. Pretty much any other viewing area that's not in that section along the waterfront, over the Pirates bridge or the guest relations area on the stairs portion is all standby. For standby you can start waiting at 7pm for the 9pm show.
