Hi! Just wonderered if anyone has used the light tower trick lately or if too many people know about it and it doesn't work anymore. Will someone please let me know! I cant decide if to chance it or buy dessert seats. I would like to chance it as I hate to pay 180.00 when it's for me, DH, DD3 and DS2. If the kids were older, i wouldn't mind paying.

Does it "work"? Yes.
Do others know about it? Yes, some.

When are you going? You can find good spots to watch Fantasmic! without buying the dessert package and without camping out if you are willing to stand and not going during peak season.

Thank you!! Im going to go look for that info. We have been to DisneyWORLD 27 times.. and we never have a problem seeing Fantasmic.. I wouldnt have even thought that Disneylands would be tricky to get a seat at!! Thanks again!

okay, it didn't work! But the info is under his Fantasmic thread.

I got the info from Hydro Guy's Fantasmic thread. I'll try to paste it below here and see if it works. :confused3
For detailed information on this see this post: Fantasmic Light Tower Trick

Ditto for me. I'll be there for a few not-peak days Dec 1,2 and 4 and would love to hear more suggestions around how to deal with seeing F!

thanks SkiingFast!! :):cheer2:

No problem.

Do note in that thread SS. Colombia mentions to find your spot there 45-60 minutes early. For busy time like the approaching holidays I agree. I have found in moderate times the last spots there get taken about 25 minutes before the show.

At WDW Fantasmic! is held in an arena and, as you know, everyone lines up outside the area prior to the show and then enters when the "doors" are opened.

At DL, Fantasmic! is shown outside, on the Rivers of America. People can sit to "save a spot" at any time in the day they want. Generally, people start "camping out" about an hour - two hours prior to the show, depending upon the time of year. There are areas where you can sit on the ground (down front) or stand (further back or on the sides). And then there is the area in which you can pay to sit in a chair and receive a "complimentary" dessert box that is quite extensive, along with drinks.

It's completely different. Parts of the show are different too, in case you didn't know. :goodvibes

Wow!! Thank you everyone!!! I really had NO idea DL's Fantasmic would have such different seating!!! Im getting out my notebook and taking notes!! With out this information, we might have missed out on seeing it! We are all excited to see it as we know the show is a bit different that Disney World's version!

When we went, we bought the WOC picnic pack and got a great spot for that show. When it was over, we immediately rushed out of DCA and over to the main park. While the fireworks were going on we went over to the Fantasmic viewing area by cutting through all of the stores on the left while people watched the show above. When the fireworks were over, everybody who watched the first Fantasmic show and stayed in their spots to watch the fireworks left and we got a prime front row spot.

We watched the fireworks the night before, so it worked out perfectly.

This info should help you figure it out!
