Ok. I know this is opening up a big can of worms, but here goes.

I have been to WDW many times.... but I have never seen Fantasmic!. I know, right? Is it worth it? Do I absolutely have to see it when I go in September? What time do I need to get there to get a seat if it really is that big of "must do"? Is it just overrated??

Ready, set, go. popcorn::

I am kind of on the fence about it. I enjoyed it but it's not my favorite thing. I like Wishes much better.

My kids were 3 and 5 at the time and they liked it ok, but didn't love it. I think we will skip it this time.

I would see it once to decide for yourself but I wouldn't call it a must do.

If you have never seen Fantasmic yes please go check it out. Is worth it! Sept crowds are light so I wouldnt recommend the Dinner Package. I have usually during off times walked in and found a seat in the middle Mickey section.

I personally did not care much for it. So this time we will skip it. However if you never have seen it I say do it. Everyone likes different things and you may just love it.

We saw Fantasmic for the first time on our Sept 2012 trip to WDW. The show was neat but we weren't fans of having to wait in line to see it. Wishes and Illuminations are just as good of shows without the line hassles. When the show was over it took us about 45 minutes to get out of the seating area and another 10+ minutes to get to the buses to get back to our resort.

I would say that this is a once every couple of trips to WDW show to see. Not a must for every trip.

Im planning on skipping it this time. Its old and worn out. Plus is a hassle getting in and out of the show then waiting for it to start. Remember the Old TOT BellHops who would entertain. Bring them back!

You ask for the can of worms so I will open the can for you. If wdw is all you ever get to, at some point go see it, sept may be a good time since crowds are low. If you think you will ever in your life get to dlr, skip wdw's fantasmic, because it is 100 times better at dlr. I have seen dlr at least 50 times, I saw half of wdw once and will never do it again, after spending money on a dinner show to get good seats, then sitting for well over an hour. We walked out about 15 minutes into it, it was no where near as good and I think way over rated for what it is. DL is by far a much better show.

I do not think it is worth the amount of time you have to invest to get seats to this show.

I might go with the dining package where you do not have to get in line in advance.

We really enjoy the Fantasmic show! We do not bother with a dinner package. Enjoy the show!

I like the show and the effects they use for it but having seen it a couple of times now it's not a must do. I skipped it on a previous trip and last time we did a dining package which had us having dinner at 3pm. Not really the best situation but we were able to go straight to the show with minimal waiting because of the dining package. The kids enjoyed it better than Wishes or Illuminations because it wasn't as loud and they saw a bunch of characters as well.

The wait for the show to start plus a lot of people to exit can be a bit of a challenge, especially if you have a stroller and have to hunt it down on your way out.

If you haven't seen it I would say try to make time for it if you can.

I go in off times, and I walked into it. I refused for a long time to go because I thought I preferred to ride the rides. I sat towards the back and thought it was great. I didn't mind the mass exodus becuase I was near an exit. I don't know that I would wait 45 minutes for it, but I won't wait 45 minutes for much of anything.

Well, I think everyone should see it once...this way you'll know.

For me, NO, not worth it.

I agree that you should see it once. That way you can know for sure if you want to see it again or not. I went this last trip and we ended up leaving early. I don't personally think it's worth seeing again. Wishes is the only thing I must see every time!!

i'd look at it this way, everything at WDW is worth a try at least 1x. it's a good fun show and doesn't cost anything so you don't have much to lose. also, you've been to WDW numerous times so it's an easy way to mix it up a bit.

Saw it for the first time with my family in early December 2012. Crowds were low during our visit, and I believe we sat down 15 minutes or so before showtime. We did not have prime seats, but our seats were perfectly acceptable. My kids really enjoyed the show; I would say they enjoyed it more than Illuminations but less than Wishes. I would be happy to go see it again.

I can see how people who have seen it multiple times would find it old and tired. I did comment to my husband that you could tell they hadn't changed the show in awhile because certain characters (like Pocahontas) had more prominence than they would probably merit now.

However, since this will be your first time, and since September is not a crowded time of year to visit, I think you should try to go, and depending on how picky (or not) you are about your seats, you don't need to get there that early.

We saw it our first trip, skipped it our second because we didn't feel like dealing with the lines and I was already tired of people being rude because I use a scooter and didn't feel like dealing with them anymore. This time we have the dining package so I can avoid that. I am looking forward to seeing it again because we have spent the last 2 yrs talking about how much we missed seeing that show.

I have been to WDW many times.... but I have never seen Fantasmic!.
